RACE TWO

DANCINTOTHEBEAT (7) started from gate 6 here 2 runs back over this trip and snagged back early found the pegs. Charging home when asked for the effort, she arrived for a stylish win which earned her a shot at the South East Oaks. Gate 12 ended her chances and back to this mile she can defy the gate again.

NINA SIMONE (4) has been given a shot at Oaks company her past 2 starts and while she did not quite measure up to the better fillies, she was far from disgraced. Probing for gaps when 9m away in the SE Oaks, she has some early speed and from this gate can be handy enough to challenge.

BRAEBEACH (10) was due to resume 10 days back but was scratched on that occasion only lightly raced and will be giving away some experience here but has shown his share of talent with 2 wins in 4 starts.

GINATIANO (1) has been campaigning on The Triangle in recent weeks and heads to town unplaced at her past 4. Working home wide off the track last start, the gate aids her place chances here.

SELECTIONS: DANCINTOTHEBEAT (7), NINA SIMONE (4), BRAEBEACH (10), GINATIANO (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

With just the one win to her name, CHARMING CHARLOTTE (3) has had to step up to face some experienced performers in recent outings. Taking the trail from gate 1 last start when finishing 2m from HOT N GOLD, it followed a head 2nd when gunned down in the last strides by DANCINTOTHEBEAT. From the gate she can look to hold on.

NO DOUBT (10) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts from bad gates because of an ODM embargo earned some starts back. He earned a return to the main draw but finds himself out in the boondocks once again. Charging home last start, he was luckless the start prior and with even luck he will be throwing it down here.

PRESS STATEMENT (1) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when making the most of gate 1 and leading them all the way. Taking the trail here last start when 3rd behind OUR ACTION MAN, he has the gate to chime in.

MAGICOL IDEAL (6) has no favours from this gate after finishing down the line at his past 2 outings from gate 1. This is a few shades easier than those assignments and he can make a play.

SELECTIONS: CHARMING CHARLOTTE (3), NO DOUBT (10), PRESS STATEMENT (1), MAGICOL IDEAL (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-6-10

RACE FOUR

The 3 main players in this trot event do not have the best manners so the ability to stay in gait will be vital here. Doing it all correctly last start VAN SANK (6) settled in the 1x1 trail and then had too much speed in the closing stages to score. Making a costly error the start prior, he resumed from a spell 3 starts back with a 2nd from the 30m tape. With the right trip he can go back-to-back.

DOUG (12) was unlucky not to get a start in the G1 Trotters Cup last week when listed as the emergency. Missing out there, his run 2 starts back in the 2nd round of the DJA was a smart effort when only 5m from HUMBLE LADD. Working home smartly behind PINK GALAHS the start prior, his starting manners are the query.

ALADDIN SANE (11) has plenty of ability but that is offset by consistency in being able to trot the whole way. The one start he has been clean throughout since resuming from a spell he was able to win and if trotting, he is up to this.

IL PIRATA (8) took on the mobile 2138m last start and eased to secure a position showed good closing speed to grab the silver when only a half-head from VAN SANK. He can feature again here.

SELECTIONS: VAN SANK (6), DOUG (12), ALADDIN SANE (11), IL PIRATA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: VAN SANK (6) to win

RACE FIVE

Hitting the board in 3 of his 4 starts since resuming from a break, STOKER ACE (9) can look to land a breakthrough win to open his 3YO account. From ate 10 last start he was doing his best work in the closing stages to get within a head of the winner. With an even rub of the green, he can arrive.

DEVOUGED (6) landed this same gate last week when trying to make a closing play and despite the numbers showing a midfield finish, he was only 2.5m from the winner in a blanket finish. Charging home, again from this same gate 2 starts back when beaten the same margin, he can be swooping late once again.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (1) was a winner when sitting parked over the mile from gate 3 here 5 starts back and was sent for a let-up after the win. No closer than gate 6 at his 4 runs since the win, he can look to take full advantage of this alley.

MAJOR GRANDEUR (8) lands a fence gate again after making the most of the inside line in recent outings. Shooting for the hat-trick last start, he was 2m in arrears and with another cosy trip can be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: STOKER ACE (9), DEVOUGED (6), SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (1), MAJOR GRANDEUR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: STOKER ACE (9) to win

RACE SIX

CALA JANE (3)
has faced the starter on 3 occasions this Northern campaign and not much has really gone her way. Only lightly raced, she was snagged back from gate 5 at Redcliffe last start and from a long way back made some nice ground in the closing stages. 3m away here 3 starts back, if she can settle handy, she might just be able to breakthrough.

GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (8) will be relying on some factors in his favour here but with the likelihood of the good trip can be ready to snipe. Searching for track when 3rd to WESTAR SAM last start at Redcliffe, this will be his first look at The Creek and with an even ounce of luck can take his shot.

ROYAL OBSESSION (6) was shooting for a hat-trick of Redcliffe victories 2 starts back when settling back in the pack from outside the 2nd line. The wide gate is a stinger in this but saved for a closing shot is a proven pattern.

ONYA DOUG (5) started from the 2nd line here last time out over this trip and was angled to the pegs for the economical trip. Sprinting hard when the gaps opened to grab the prize, he can feature once more.

SELECTIONS: CALA JANE (3), GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (8), ROYAL OBSESSION (6), ONYA DOUG (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CALA JANE (3) each-way

RACE SEVEN

AT WEST POINT (3)
loves to run the mile hard in front and was a winner here 4 runs back when keeping plenty of coal in the fire on the front end. Gunned down late by SAM IS PERFECTION at his next outing, the second line has cruelled his chances at his past 2 starts. This is back in the wheelhouse.

VINNY CHASE (6) started from inside the 2nd line here on Tuesday and when finding open road finished over the top of them in claiming a smart win as he pulled clear to a 6m margin. A winner 3 starts back over the 2138m, the gate is the dampener, but he will be throwing it down.

OUR BONDI BEACH (1) is effective when using the passing lane and from this gate can get the ideal trip to make a closing play. Kept fresh since a passing lane 3rd to BOMBADIER JUJON, look for him sniping up the lane.

MIDNIGHT MAN (8) was beaten by gate 6 at Redcliffe last start when retreating in the early stages, while 2 starts back he tried to do it from the front. The pegs can be the place to play here, and he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: AT WEST POINT (3), VINNY CHASE (6), OUR BONDI BEACH (1), MIDNIGHT MAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: AT WEST POINT (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

IMA CALVERT ROSE (5)
loves the mobile conditions and from this alley can look to work forward in the early stages. Sent forward to sit parked last week after coming from a 20m impost, she was unable to go on with it in the latter stages. Grabbed in the last strides 2 runs back, she can make her own luck here.

MAJESTIC SPEED (11) started from the six-hole here 2 starts back and was able to find the 1x1 trail throughout. Moving up stylishly to score a smart win, it made it 2 on the bounce before finishing down the line last start. The gate is not ideal, but she can be working into the contest to challenge.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (9) was required to work hard last start from a 40m handicap and after being wide off the track the effort took its toll. Mobile conditions suit and with the right trip she can feature.

MISTER CHISHOLM (4) found suitable conditions last week and stepping cleanly to find the front from the 10m tape was able to grip on in the closing stages to score. A two-time winner from the mobile, he can feature here.

SELECTIONS: IMA CALVERT ROSE (5), MAJESTIC SPEED (11), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (9), MISTER CHISHOLM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA CALVERT ROSE (5) to win

RACE NINE

The first heat of the third edition of the 2YO Springboard Series can see YOU NO ILL BE LATE (2) look to remain undefeated. Showing perfect manners on debut, he pulled clear to claim a strong win with 17m to spare. With good benefit from the experience, he can look to go 2 for 2.

CONFISCATED (5) has yet to master the tape release after his two starts but showed great improvement second up. Gathering momentum and sent forward he was able to hold on for the victory in nice style. The confidence can see him in the mix here.

BANFF (3) is a colt on debut for Grant Dixon out of the handy race mare Sharons Millicent. That makes him a half to OKANAGAN and with a tidy trial to prepare, he stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: YOU NO ILL BE LATE (2), CONFISCATED (5), BANFF (3)
SUGGESTED BET: YOU NO ILL BE LATE (2) to win
