RACE TWO

After taking on the pacers 3 starts back, JANSSON (2) returned to a trot only contest here where he went straight to the front over the 2647m stand and trotted cleanly to lead throughout. Warming up for this with a last start against the pacers again, the run was full of merit in grabbing 3rd. Stepping cleanly, he can take this.

AVEROSS DON (5) started from the 40m tape on Friday night when attacking the line with gusto to get within a flared nostril of victory. Buried in the run 2 starts back over his less-preferred longer trip, he looks ideally suited to the handicap conditions of this race at this trip and looms as a big danger.

IS SOMETHINGBURNING (9) was up to her old tricks last start when making an error in transit that ended her chances after being sent to the post as fav. 3rd the start prior which had followed successive wins, she can look to bounce back here.

DAY TOURER (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when making the closing play to be 5m in arrears of JANSSON over the 2647m. Back to the 2138m suits and with his great manners, will be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: JANSSON (2), AVEROSS DON (5), IS SOMETHINGBURNING (9), DAY TOURER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JANSSON (2) to win

RACE THREE

GARLAND GREENE (4)
backs up from Sat night where he was crossed early before out for the retake to assume control over the mobile 2138m. With a well-controlled opening half, he was able to get home nicely and hold on for a neck victory. He is in super form and looks mighty hard to stop.

GREG THE GREAT (5) went to the front prior to releasing for the trail on GARLAND GREENE on Sat night. From the pocket trail he was trying to pick up closing metres but couldn’t quite bridge the deficit. Finishing over the top from the mobile 3 starts back to score, he should appreciate this.

MELPARK MAGIC (2) was a winner here 4 starts back after finishing hard and fast down the stretch after securing a cosy run in transit on the pegs. Not too far away in his 3 starts since, he has podium claims.

JUSTABITLIKEMUM (1) found the running line from position 6 off the front tape last start and was closing in nice style to grab 2nd behind MUSCULUS. With just the 1 win from the mobile, she will get the perfect trip to chime in here.

SELECTIONS: GARLAND GREENE (4), GREG THE GREAT (5), MELPARK MAGIC (2), JUSTABITLIKEMUM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4 / 1-2-5

RACE FOUR

FAST TRACKER (1)
has placed in 1 of his 5 career starts, that effort coming 2 starts back when chasing hard from the pocket trail in a strong last 800m at Redcliffe when 2nd to OUR ULTIMATE BONNY. Buried in the run from this gate last start in the Breeders Consolation behind CAPTAINS PICK, today can be the day.

ROYAL PRINCESS (8) has placed in 3 of 4 career starts and looks set to enjoy a great run in transit here. Off the pegs at the 400m as the leader was tiring here last week, she was left chasing and with some work to do. If a slice of luck should fall in her favour, she can issue the challenge in this.

GIDUP CAPTAIN (3) worked forward from gate 5 last start and was obliged to do it the tough way when fighting hard for 3rd when 4m in arrears of the winner HEARTBREAK. With the improved gate he is right in the fight here.

CHAMONIX (7) has placed in 2 of his 5 starts as he looks for his 1st victory, the latest when a half-neck from the huge priced winner SUPERBON. Making an error 2 starts back, he is in the mix, despite the tough gate.

SELECTIONS: FAST TRACKER (1), ROYAL PRINCESS (8), CHAMONIX (7), GIDUP CAPTAIN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FAST TRACKER (1)

RACE FIVE

MAYWYNS BEST (7)
has the tough gate to negotiate, however the return to these conditions should suit. IN great form in recent starts, finishing in the money at 5 of his past 7, with 2 smart victories in that figure. Charging home on Sat night to get within a head of the winner, it followed a sizzling 1.51.0 victory from the front. He can add another victory.

FIOKI (9) was beaten by a tough gate last start when snagged back from gate 6 over the mile and with MAYWYNS BEST carving out the brilliant time in front, he was never a factor from back in the pack. 7m in arrears as a beaten fav here 2 starts back, with the right trail, he can bounce back here.

COMPLY OR DIE (3) was buried in the run here on Fri night and when the gap opened he really hit the line strongly to be within 2m of the winner MONTANA CHIEF. Firing an early shot, he can feature.

SECRET JACK (1) was taken off the gate from the six-hole last start and from back in the pack was always facing a task. Locked away 2 starts back, he can settle closer from this gate and look to chime in.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS BEST (7), FIOKI (9), COMPLY OR DIE (3), SECRET JACK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS BEST (7) to win

RACE SIX

Early positioning might be keenly contested here as forward positions are up for grabs. Developing a great record, THE HUMMER (2) can tuck in behind any speed as he goes in search of a hat-trick. Away from the pegs early 2 starts back, he finished over the top to claim smart win and followed that with a gritty effort over the 2138m. Look for him taking the closing shot.

BLACKJACK BART (1) didn’t have any early motor here last start over the mile and soon found himself buried 3 back and looking for openings that never arrived until it was all over. Runner-up to GOVERNOR JUJON the start prior, he was tough in scoring over the 2138m here 3 starts back. If he can show some early hustle, he can challenge.

TIMELESS APPEAL (4) had speed inside her last start and stayed out of the battle to find the 1x1 trail and chase home to be 8m in arrears of the winner LIVE ATOM. Too sharp in front 2 starts back, the 2138m poses a query.

B MAC C (7) was sent forward from this same gate last start over the sprint trip and after a tough trip was yielding in the stretch. In for the fight 2 starts back, if he can limit the work, he can be swooping late.

SELECTIONS: THE HUMMER (2), BLACKJACK BART (1), MISTER DIAMOND (8), B MAC C (7)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HUMMER (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

Exorcising the demons of his 3YO Triad Consolation disappointment, WILL THE WIZARD (4) bounced back with venom 2nd up, taking control and then putting on a power running display to score a 14m victory in a slick 1.52.4 mile. That was off the back of a slick trial and he can look to repeat that here.

SOHO TSUNAMI (5) opened his Qld account in fine style here last week when sent straight to the front from gate 2. Taking control, he was never in danger in scoring a comfortable win in a new PB rate. Fitter for the outing after a 6-week gap between starts, he can throw down the challenge.

VIRGIL (2) was 1st up from a break here 2 starts back when gunned down in the stretch after setting the tempo. 9m from TIZ A SIZZLER 2nd up after a soft trip, he can bounce back here.

MUMMYS BOY (3) lines up for Charlie Cini after featuring in a barn switch. Forced to retreat from gate 6 last start to find position and from back in the pack was closing nicely when 7m from the winner. Settling close to the action, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (4), SOHO TSUNAMI (5), VIRGIL (2), MUMMYS BOY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-3-4-5

RACE EIGHT

After some tidy performances that suggested his 1st Qld victory was not far away, that assessment was franked on Sat night when WINKANDITSOVER (2) claimed victory at the mile. Crossed early, he was out for the retake and once in control put on a power running display to run the mile in 52 flat with 7m in hand. He can look to keep the chasing again.

OUR LITTLE DIGGER (1)
snagged back to find the pegs over the mile 2 starts back a taking the short way home wasn’t too far from the dictating winner BIG BANG LEONARD. Holding the 1x1 trail last start, he was 3m from the winner OUTLAW FELLA and from the ace will be ready for the passing lane.

HES OKEY DOKEY (8) was taken off the arm from gate 6 last start and closing strongly to grab the bronze in a blanket finish behind OUTLAW FELLA. With the cosy trip he will be probing the gaps.

STOMPEM (6) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when 5m from the winner FEELINGFORARAINBOW. Grabbed late when leading them up the start prior, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: WINKANDITSOVER (2), OUR LITTLE DIGGER (1), HES OKEY DOKEY (8), STOMPEM (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

OUR FRIEND (3) finally gets the ODM embargo lifted and should take great benefit from the improved alley. Sent forward from gate 7 last start, he faded under the workload over the 2138m trip. In for the fight when grinding away the start prior, he gets his chance to be rewarded here.

SHADYS DELIGHT (6) is in nice touch with placings at his past 2 following a Trot Rods heat win 5 starts back. Sitting in the pocket trail from gate 1 last start, he took the closing shot behind SOHO TSUNAMI when 3m in arrears. The gate stings, but limiting the early work can challenge.

MISTER DECORUM (4) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts coming from the 2nd line in each of those. Finding the line in nice order behind GOOD AS IT GETS 2 starts back, he is in the mix here.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (2) is often forced to do it the tough way and he is always prepared to roll the sleeves. 2nd to ELIZABEHAN ERA here 3 starts back, he can settle handy from this gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: OUR FRIEND (3), SHADYS DELIGHT (6), MISTER DECORUM (4), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR FRIEND (3) to win
