RACE TWO

ALLSTAR SEA (2) might just find this assignment easier than recent outings, having placed in 2 of his 4 appearances here on the Triangle since arriving in Qld. Holding on for 3rd to NEWMERELLA LADYKAY here 2 starts back, the closing tempo made it tough for the chasers last start. He looks to get every chance here.

JACKS GAMBIT (1) eased from gate 4 to find position last start and was sound to the line when under 10m from the winner BIG IN AMERICA. Chasing home behind CC JONES the start prior, he can look to capitalise on the good gate and using his early speed will have options at his disposal.

LORD DENZEL (8) will be 2nd up since joining the Alan Sanders yard and despite a string of duck-eggs next to his name, did trial nicely since his latest failure. If he can bring that trial effort to the track, he can be an improver.

GINATIANO (5) will be 1st up from a spell, sent for a break after fading and finishing down the track at her last start back in September. With 4 trials to prepare, she can be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: ALLSTAR SEA (2), JACKS GAMBIT (1), LORD DENZEL (8), GINATIANO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ALLSTAR SEA (2) to win

RACE THREE

INCITER (8)
secured the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start when sent to the post as fav. Making an error, his chances were ended, yet he was still only 8m in arrears. Tough in the breeze the star prior, he can look to follow through at release to secure a handy position and might just have found the right contest to end a long winless streak.

SIXPENNY RED (3) will be further tightened from her latest offering when 2nd up from a spell. Doing some early work prior to receiving cover, she was down the line over the 2138m behind MISS BLUE GLORY. Not too far away the start prior in a Gold Pot heat, returning to the triangle looks suitable.

NIKALONG HENRY (7) has won 2 of his past 3 and would be a bigger chance in this if drawing differently. Making driver Nathan Dawson earn his money at his past 3, he takes plenty of cajoling to extricate the effort. Finding space, he can certainly feature.

BARBOO (5) doesn’t receive any favours from the wide gate here, yet with even luck in transit won’t find this too far out of reach. Working home wide off the track when beaten a lip 2 starts back, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: INCITER (8), SIXPENNY RED (3), NIKALONG HENRY (7), BARBOO (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

PATCHWORK JET (5)
eased from gate 6 last start to find position over the 2040m trip and was trying to work into the contest, yet the tempo from the front end made it tough for the chasers. A beaten fav 2 starts back after working in the run early, he can settle back off the speed here and make the closing shot a winning one in this line-up.

GWENDALION (8) steps out for the dan Russell barn for the 1st time, arriving with some ordinary numbers since resuming this campaign. Fresh since her latest outing at Globe Derby back in April, she was sent around at the trials to sharpen up and despite the gate, stays under notice 1st up.

CRUISIN ALONG (2) will be 2nd up after a long stint on the sidelines, making his return in a TrotRods event. Setting the tempo, he faded late to be 8m in arrears of the winner PATCHWORK JET. He can fire the 1st shot here.

WEASEL (1) broke through for victory here 2 starts back when finishing over the top of them from a 2nd line gate. Buried in the run from this gate last start, he will be probing for the openings.

SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (5), GWENDALION (8), CRUISIN ALONG (2), WEASEL (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PATCHWORK JET (5) to win

RACE FIVE

CHUMP CHOP (7)
has been in super touch of late and with his latest result only a reflection of stepping it up to a much tougher contest in the Final of a Gold Pot Series. Closing nicely to grab the silver in the heat of that series, it had followed successive victories. He will need some factors in his favour, but he can bounce back here.

WARNER (5) ended a long winless streak last start when using the passing lane to arrive for his 1st win since arriving in Qld. Putting the writing on the wall for that victory after a tidy effort when not too far from the winner MAFFIOSO GIRL, early position will be key to his chances to offer late.

MERRYWOOD PEARL (1) faded out last start from a 2nd line gate as GLENEAGLE WARRIOR crushed his opponents in a sizzling traversing of the triangle. With the improved gate, she can settle closer to the action and can be an improver.

COUNTRY RUN (2) finished mid-field last start after having an early look prior to receiving the 1x1 trail. Gunned down in front here 2 starts back, if he can muster the speed to take control, he might take some stopping.

SELECTIONS: CHUMP CHOP (7), WARNER (5), MERRYWOOD PEARL (1), COUNTRY RUN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-5-7

RACE SIX

MUCHO MACHO MAN (5) will strip fitter from his latest outing when finishing down the line over the AP 2138m behind the smart TIZ A SIZZLER. There were excuses to consider out of that return a despite the wide gate, the return to the triangle where he has a superb record can see him prevail.

LIVING GRAND (2) set the tempo last start from gate 1 over the 1780m trip and was in for the fight, only to be worn down late by the in-form GLENEAGLE WARRIOR. Not far away from the smart mare WITH THE BAND the start prior after working hard, he can settle close to the action to challenge.

JOANNIES GIRL (1) was forced to roll the sleeves and do it the tough way last star over the sprint trip, fighting gamely when 7m in arrears of the winner. Closing nicely the start prior, she can feature.

GOTTA MOMENT (6) backs up from headquarters on Sat night and will be 3rd up from a break here. Fading after a tough trip when resuming, he has no favours from the wide gate, but can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MUCHO MACHO MAN (5), LIVING GRAND (2), JOANNIES GIRL (1), GOTTA MOMENT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MUCHO MACHO MAN (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

GETALOADATHISGIRL (8)
didn’t let her supporters down when making her debut in the Sunshine State over this trip last start. Spearing out from gate 3 to take control, she was never in danger, cruising home in a tidy closing 800m panel to a 7m victory. With the right trail through at release, she can go back-to-back.

PEGGY STARDUST (2) continued her consistency last start, adding another minor placing to her tally, stretching the streak to 8 consecutive top-3 results. Setting the tempo here on Thursday over this trip, she led deep into the stretch, only to be collared in the closing stages. Firing the 1st shot here, she will be gripping on.

IM SANDY BAY (6) was 1st up bk in Qld last start when sent to the post as fav, finishing down the line after a tough run in the breeze. Always facing tough gates owing to her manners, with the added fitness, she can be chiming in here.

ITS YOU NOT ME (1) will be 3rd up from a break and looks set to secure a cosy run in transit. Grabbing 2nd here 2 starts back when resuming with a soft trip, he can be chiming in when the lane presents.

SELECTIONS: GETALOADATHISGIRL (8), PEGGY STARDUST (2), IM SANDY BAY (6), ITS YOU NOT ME (1)
SUGGESTED BET: GETALOADATHISGIRL (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

MANOFLISA (8) secured the 1x1 trail here on Thursday and when presented with open track, hit the line in good order to claim a 3m victory. Placed in 2 of his previous 3 starts, the miss in between was when luckless in searching for gaps that didn’t open. Despite the 2nd line gate, he can look to work home over the top in a race that looks easier than his last start victory.

THE LAST STARFIRE (5) finished down the line behind MANOFLISA here on Thursday after settling rearward from a 2nd line gate. Not suited when taken to AP the start prior and fading out in a sharp mile, he can look for early position and with a rub of the green, might just lob into the money.

JANSSON (6) is a trotter taking on the pacers and despite landing the outside gate, can look to make a challenge in this line-up. 3rd against the pacers here 2 starts back when retreating from gate 5, he returned to competing against his own gait last start when taking them all the way. He can podium.

RAYONG PRINCESS (4) was sent to the front from gate 1 last start when finishing 5m in arrears of the winner. Holding on for the bronze the start prior when leading, she can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: MANOFLISA (8), THE LAST STARFIRE (5), JANSSON (6), RAYONG PRINCESS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MANOFLISA (8) to win
