RACE TWO

WICKED AZZ (3) makes his Qld debut for Greg Franklin and arrives searching for a hat-trick of victories. Freshened since his last victory back in April at Bendigo over the 2150m, he recorded a smart victory over the 1650m 4 days prior. Opening the pipes with a tidy trial, he can strike 1st up.

HESLUVABLE (1) was a winner here 2 starts back when settling in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line and when the gap opened, taking his shot to land the loot. Not suited last start over the 2138m at AP when retreating from gate 6, he is set for the prefect trip here and can take the snipers shot.

AQUA CRUISER (5) was always facing a task last start once obliged to retreat from gate 6 to find position as WILL THE WIZARD carved out a slick mile in front. Back to this company, he can feature.

TORQUE IS TRENDING (6) doesn’t have any favours from the wide gate here, however he has not been too far from the action in recent starts. 7m in arrears last start after working hard, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: WICKED AZZ (3), HESLUVABLE (1), AQUA CRUISER (5), TORQUE IS TRENDING (6)
SUGGESTED BET: WICKED AZZ (3) to win

RACE THREE

MUCHO GUAPA (1)
was 2nd up from 10 months off the scene here 3 starts back when landing this gate over the 2040m. Taking control from the front with a steady opening half, she had too much in reserve to claims a comfortable 10m victory. Placed at her next start, she has the options to take this.

DAPPER BESSIE (2) found suitable conditions at her 1st run in 12 months when sweeping home over the top in a nice closing 800m to score as a red figure fav. Too far back last start when 2nd up with the up-front tempo making it tough for the chasers. From the improved gate she can challenge.

TORQUE IS MY GIRL (6) eased from gate 4 to find position last start and soon found herself a long way off the speed. When the gaps arrived, she hit the line with gusto when 6m in arrears of the winner NOTORIUS. A passing lane winner the start prior, she can feature despite the gate.

BIG IN AMERICA (7) used the passing lane last start to grab the bronze when 5m in arrears of the winner. With a similar trip looking on offer, she will be probing late.

SELECTIONS: MUCHO GUAPA (1), DAPPER BESSIE (2), TORQUE IS MY GIRL (6), BIG IN AMERICA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-7

RACE FOUR

BOULDER CITY (1)
returns from a spell, tackling his 1st race outing this year. 3 starts back he was nabbed in the closing stages when 2nd to TORI MAY and his final 2 starts of his preparation had merit when not too far away. Opening the pipes with a tidy trial behind the start PELOSI, he can capitalise 1st up.

ALLSTAR SEA (8) is getting closer to his 1st Qld victory and it is just around the corner when conditions fall in his favour. Placed in 3 of his past 4 starts, the past 2 when runner-up in each, he can look to press through to settle handy. Chasing gamely last start in some smart closing splits, he is right in the fight.

TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (6) gets into this on a class drop, yet receives no favours with the six-hole. Closing strongly when buried away last start, he wasn’t too far from the flying ULTIMATE AD the start prior. Just needs some luck.

SONNY ORLANDO (7) will strip fitter following his latest outing when returning from a break. With a cosy trip on offer, he can be chiming in along the pegs where he likes to race and has claims.

SELECTIONS: BOULDER CITY (1), ALLSTAR SEA (8), TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (6), SONNY ORLANDO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-6-7-8

RACE FIVE

MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2)
was showing early speed trying to get forward from gate 4 last start when he did not quite have the speed to find the front. Receiving cover, he was 6m in arrears of the winner MOONLIGHT BUTCHER. Grabbed late when leading the start prior, he will be gripping on.

READILY (1) looks set to secure the economical trip from this gate and should appreciate settling closer than he has for some time. Only 3m away last start when looking for gaps he will secure the right trip here to challenge for his 1st victory in over 12 months.

BEEF CITY STARZZZ (8) made the most of gate 1 last start to take control. With a steady opening half, he was able to dial it up to keep them chasing in a 56.7 closing 800m. He can be chiming in late here.

MAJOR LUCKY (6) has the tough gate to negotiate, but he might have just enough of a class edge. Using the passing lane to get within a pimple of victory last start, he has podium claims in this.

SELECTIONS: MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2), READILY (1), BEEF CITY STARZZZ (8), MAJOR LUCKY (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

TRENTLEIGH (2) has been getting closer to scoring a 2020 victory, having placed in 3 of his past 4 starts, the past 2 when runner-up on each occasion. Having an early look from gate 4 last start, cover arrived when 5m from the winner. Grabbed late when setting the tempo 2 starts back, he can look to fight them off.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (8) sat in the running line from this gate last start over the 2040m and was able to arrive for a 5m victory over TRENTLEIGH. Doing some work early when sent forward from the 2nd line the start prior, she faded in the closing stages. This is no harder and she can go back-to-back.

WEASEL (1) was a winner here 4 starts back when finishing best wide off the track to claim the prize. Holding them wide here 2 starts back, he battled on for 3rd and from this gate will be in the mix.

PRETTYCOMPACT (7) eased from gate 5 last start to find the pegs and a cheap run but didn’t really get into the contest. 9m away the start prior after setting the tempo, she will be probing for gaps.

SELECTIONS: TRENTLEIGH (2), TORQUE TO THE MAX (8), WEASEL (1), PRETTYCOMPACT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TRENTLEIGH (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

This could be a survival contest with the 2040m a big factor. Just 1 horse in the filed boasting a victory at a trip greater than 2000m. With that in mind CARIBBEAN ROCKET (8) might have enough of an edge over his rivals to claim his 1st Redcliffe victory. Closing for 3rd behind subsequent winner PERFECT FEELING 2 starts back, he can arrive.

THE LAST STARFIRE (2) claimed his only career victory here  over the 1780m when able to find the front from this gate and dictate in scoring a 6m victory. He couldn’t work into it last start behind HOLDINGNO CURRENCY and settling closer to the action will certainly aid his chances here.

LOYOLA SIOUX (6) settled in the running line from gate 10 last start when chasing home and not too far away from the winner JOEY LINCOLN. Forget her previous run when in trouble, she can improve.

NEVASANO (5) will be 2nd up from a spell and will take benefit from her 1st up run when locked on the poles and chasing home. The wide gate stings, but if able to position cheaply, can chime in.

SELECTIONS: CARIBBEAN ROCKET (8), THE LAST STARFIRE (2), LOYOLA SIOUX (6), NEVASANO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CARIBBEAN ROCKET (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

APACHE WHITESOX (4) started a red figure fav here 2 starts back from gate 1. Crossed soon after release, he was off the inside into the running line and chased home to hold 2nd behind FORBIDDEN FEELINGS. Back to AP last start when 7m from the winner JOEY LINCLOLN, he finds the conditions to open his account here.

BARONE (1) started from gate 1 last time out and was soon locked away 3 back on the poles. Using the passing lane, he closed strongly to grab the silver when 4m from the winner JOEY LINCOLN. Fitter from the run where he was 1st up this season, he has the gate to throw down the challenge.

MAYWYNS HONEY (2) made an error 2 starts back that ended her race when forced to retire from the contest. Hitting the line nicely last start to get within a half-head of victory, she is in the mix.

HARRY CROFT (3) will take some benefit from his latest appearance when fading under the 2040m trip after setting the tempo. With 6 weeks between his previous 2 starts, he is a podium player.

SELECTIONS: APACHE WHITESOX (4), BARONE (1), MAYWYNS HONEY (2), HARRY CROFT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: APACHE WHITESOX (4) to win

RACE NINE

SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (2) returns to the Shannon Price stable and will be 1st up in close to 12 months as he makes his 1st outing as a 3YO. Put away after claiming a 2YO victory at career start 6, he found the pocket trail from gate 3, finishing over the top to claim the prize. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he finds the right race 1st up.

MOLLY SECRET (1) will be having her 1st start for the season as a 4YO, having last race back in May of 2019 when down the line behind MISTER DIAMOND. Lightly raced, she faced the starter twice last campaign which had followed an 8-month break. The gate helps her cause after 2 preparatory trials.

HOLLIE (7) will be further tightened following her latest outing when 2nd up from a beak. Finding the pocket trail from gate 2 over the 2040m, she held on for the bronze and will be probing here.

MELTON LUCKY (3) grabbed 3rd last start when using the passing lane after angling to the trail form gate 2. In the money at 4 of his past 5 starts, he can be thereabouts once again in this.

SELECTIONS: SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (2), MOLLY SECRET (1), HOLLIE (7), MELTON LUCKY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (2) to win
