RACE ONE

After splitting the win over the 2138m two starts back with a dead heat, HEMSWORTH (4) claimed an outright qualifying win last start in impressive fashion. Charging home over the top at the mile, he showed a sizzling turn of speed and saved up off a strong tempo can deliver a repeat victory.

ARTILLERY (7) arrives in Qld with the McCarthy stable but is given no favours drawing Allan Border Field first up. Taking them all the way over the Menangle mile two starts back in a career PB 51.9 mile, he tackled the APG Final behind BEYOND DELIGHT last time out. Despite the gate he has claims.

PELOSI (9) has been runner-up at her past two starts since winning here three runs back. Her closing splits have been super and pushing through on the back of the early speed, can make a late play.

JUDDY DOUGLAS (2) is a free roller and lands the gate to find the pegs. Gunned down last start as MANILA PLAYBOY swept over the top, he can set the target for them once again.

SELECTIONS: HEMSWORTH (4), ARTILLERY (7), PELOSI (9), JUDDY DOUGLAS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: HEMSWORTH (4) to win

RACE TWO

With just one previous appearance in the Veteran’s ranks that produced a career PB winning rate, OUR MAJOR DAY (6) slides back into this contest after fading after racing outside CRUNCH TIME last time out. A tidy 3rd to ADAM CROCKER two starts back, he can take full advantage to cash-in.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (4) started from the second line last start and was always facing a task chasing as JILLIBY KUNG FU controlled it out in front. Asked to do it the tough way two starts back when sitting parked outside CAPTAIN CRUSADER, he can get forward to issue a challenge.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (8) is never too far away and will be enjoying the economical trip against the markers. Finishing over the top of them two starts back, he grabbed 3rd last start and can feature.

SAM IS PERFECTION (2) was back against last start with the tempo making it tough for the chasers. Hitting the line smartly three runs back when 4m from CRUNCH TIME, this is well within reach.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (6), MAFUTA VAUTIN (4), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (8), SAM IS PERFECTION (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (6) to win

RACE THREE

In a trick race where early mapping looks tough to pin down, MANILA PLAYBOY (7) can defy the gate. With a pair of high-class victories since resuming from a spell, he just needs enough tempo in the middle stages to claim the threepeat. Sectionally brilliant from back in the pack in both return runs, this will be a test, but he appears up to the task.

CAPTAIN CRUSADER (8) was never in danger last start from gate 2 over the middle trip when sent straight to the front and after a steady opening half, had too much power in reserve for an effortless victory. With a sharp effort at the trials since that win, this gate makes it tricky.

SCARLET BABE (6) returns to Qld to join the Shane Graham stable and resumes from a spell. With a pair of trials in readiness for the return, the gate stings first up but she has claims.

ROCK BOTTOM (10) has put together a seven-run streak where he has been in the money, the latest when runner-up to UNCLE SHANK when beaten just a half-head. He can be working into it.

SELECTIONS: MANILA PLAYBOY (7), CAPTAIN CRUSADER (8), SCARLET BABE (6), ROCK BOTTOM (10)
SUGGESTED BET MANILA PLAYBOY (7) to win

RACE FOUR

Showing improvement at his latest outing where he was third up from a spell, GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (9) was hitting the line in good order to grab the bronze behind JUST ROKIN. Trailing through to secure position, he can get the right trip to claim what appears an open contest.

MAJORDOIT (8) was sent to sit parked from gate 4 last start at Marburg and after the tough trip held on for the silver. Hitting the line in nice style here two starts back after retreating from gate 6, he should be in a stalking position here ready to make a closing challenge.

REGULUS (1) tackled a Band 5 contest last start when making a wide run over the latter stages as THREE IN HEAVEN dictated it in front. Just 4m from BOMBADIER JUJON two starts back, the gate is a big plus.

JUST ROKIN (7) is given no favours from this alley but has struck some form with wins in two of her past four starts. Finishing best from the pocket trail to nail TALENT TO SPARE last start, she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (9), MAJORDOIT (8), REGULUS (1), JUST ROKIN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (9) to win

RACE FIVE

Barriers have not been kind in recent starts to WITH THE BAND (7) and she cops another tough on here. The closing tempo put it out of reach last start as UNCLE SHANK claimed the prize, while the start prior she found the poles before getting with an eyelash of ADAM CROCKER. The gate is the impediment but one that can be negotiated.

BAKER CREEK (4) is in search of a hat-trick of victories after successive wins at the mile. Powering over the top from this gate last start to claim a qualifying victory, it followed a mid-week success when securing the perfect trip in the pocket trail. The threepeat is well within reach.

RAANI (1) is after a hat-trick of her own after wins over the Redcliffe 1780m and then the mile trip here last time out. Taking them all the way from gate 7 last start, she can chase the triple.

BONNIES A ROCKIN (2) darted straight in behind the leader here last start from gate 2 and was trying to launch the closing raid when finishing a head in arrears of the prize. She can feature again.

SELECTIONS: WITH THE BAND (7), BAKER CREEK (4), RAANI (1), BONNIES A ROCKIN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WITH THE BAND (7) to win

RACE SIX

Missing last week’s standing start FFA, TURN IT UP (14) will have some company on the back tape with last week’s winner. Claiming victory in three of his past four starts, he powered over the top of them at this same trip last start and with an impeccable record from the tapes, just needs the tempo right to descend on them.

MACH SHARD (15) was safely away from his 20m tape last week to settle back in the pack as the pace was solid up front. Making a wide and sweeping run, he attacked the line stoutly to arrive in time and claim a new track record. A Wagga track record at the sprint trip five starts back, he will throw it down again.

L L COOL J (9) tracked into the race nicely here last week and loomed up to be just a half-neck in arrears of the winner MACH SHARD. His run was huge the start prior at Redcliffe, and he will be working home hard.

MISTERFREEZE (3) took a few strides to get going from wide out last week before settling in the running line. His momentum was checked when needing space and with the improved lane, he can again give cheek at big odds.

SELECTIONS: TURN IT UP (14), MACH SHARD (15), L L COOL J (9), MISTERFREEZE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TURN IT UP (14) to win

RACE EIGHT

After tackling a strong 3YO event here last week where she was the only filly in the contest, SOHO RHAPSODY (4) gets back to her won sex but will battle the older mares. Sectionally superb last week from the rear as DANGERZONE claimed victory, her Menangle win two back was solid and she is up to the task.

SPORTY DANCER (10) started from gate 1 last time out and with the cosy trip, just didn’t have the change of gears that the swoopers possessed when the passing lane presented. That was her first run back in Qld which had followed a slick Wagga victory. Back to her own sex should suit.

GIRL FROM OZ (8) has not been seen at the races since claiming the 4YO APG Final on May 7when able to take them all the way. Needing a slice of luck from this gate, she will be probing for gaps.

JENDEN STRIKE (7) started deep into the red last week when having her first run back in Qld. Sitting parked from gate 2, she was spent at the top of the stretch. Tightened from the first up run, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: SOHO RHAPSODY (4), SPORTY DANCER (10), GIRL FROM OZ (8), JENDEN STRIKE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SOHO RHAPSODY (4) to win

RACE NINE

Sent to the post as the punters elect here last week over the mile, THE RACONTEUR (4) was put into the contest straight up and was dictating the tempo out in front. Setting up a closing split of 27.3, he was collared in the last stride as HEMSWORTH arrived. He gets every chance to see this out.

AIR TIME (3) tackled the mile last start and received the 1x1 cover but did not get warm over thee closing stages as HEMSWORTH powered home to score. Sharing the prize over this trip two starts back when sitting parked, he can get forward early to throw down his challenge.

ROCKSLIDE (1) started from ate 2 last time out and was soon buried in the run before making some late metres behind KATACHA MAN. From this gate, he can get the right trip to feature.

OBI ONE (10) started from gate 9 here last week and chassed gamely but didn’t have the same turn of hoof required in the closing stages. Yet to crack a win here at The Creek, he can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: THE RACONTEUR (4), AIR TIME (3), ROCKSLIDE (1), OBI ONE (10), FALCONS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE RACONTEUR (4) to win

RACE TEN

A winner under similar conditions here four starts back when leading throughout, STRESS FACTOR (1) can look to claim another victory from the inside lane. Unable to see it out after setting a strong tempo from the mobile last week, he grabbed 3rd here two starts back and gets a chance again here.

JUSTABITNOISY (4) was caught behind a tiring leader here last week from the mobile and his effort to work into space and grab 3rd to WEE MAN TROUBLE was a smart effort. Runner-up here two starts back when just 2m in arrears, he can be safely into stride and find position to issue the challenge.

GARLAND GREENE (7) was large in defeat here two runs back from this same impost, making up a tonne of ground after making an error. Gate 6 stung from the mobile last time and he has claims.

GEE UP NEDDY (2) has been kept fresh since his last appearance where he faced a 30m impost and was quickly put into the contest only to fade in the stretch. With great manners, he can give cheek off the front tape.

SELECTIONS: STRESS FACTOR (1), JUSTABITNOISY (4), GARLAND GREENE (7), GEE UP NEDDY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: STRESS FACTOR (1) to win
