RACE ONE

Third up in Aus and facing a tricky gate, COVER GIRL (7) looks to have the class in this company to defy the gate. An easy winner first up over the 2138m, she could not run down DANGERZONE last week, the sub 27 closing split from the front, making it nigh impossible. She can bounce back here.

BEACH MAGIC (1) has a tidy record here at Redcliffe with a win and a pair of 2nds in his four appearances. Runner-up in a Trot Rods scamper last start, he has followed home some handy 3YO’s at his previous starts, including TIMS A TROOPER and SPEAK THE TRUTH. The gate is a big asset.

LA SAFRON (8) eased from gate 5 last start before owning the best closing speed to power over the top, pull clear and post a 7m margin. The pegs can be a play here for him to feature in the stretch.

CHEESANDKISSES (2) will take some benefit from her latest appearance where she was second up following a month off the scene. Strong to the line behind BRIAN CHRISTOPHER, she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: COVER GIRL (7), BEACH MAGIC (1), LA SAFRON (8), CHEESANDKISSES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-7-8

RACE TWO

Beaten deep into the red at both Qld appearances, COME SAY HI (2) has been a costly conveyance where she has been gunned down in front on both occasions. Last start the margin was a neck as ARTISTIC SAINT took the closing shot up the passing lane. This looks her chance to atone.

PEPPA BLISS (9) has placed in two runs this campaign but was not at her best last start when making an error and finishing at the rear. Returning to the trials to get the prep back on track, it was a smart hit out over the AP mile and with a previous win on this deck, can make some form of challenge.

MY ULTIMATE COBBER (7) heads North after two runs this season. Competing in some of the bigger NSW races in his 2YO season, he returned with a first up Penrith win and will be probing here.

KOWHAI BLAZE (6) is undefeated since crossing the Tasman, claiming a pair of Menangle wins before being sent for a break. With a smart trial to prepare, the gate stings first up.

SELECTIONS: COME SAY HI (2), PEPPA BLISS (9), MY ULTIMATE COBBER (7), KOWHAI BLAZE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: COME SAY HI (2) to win

RACE THREE

The first heat of the 2YO Sales Series looks an open contest where FOR REAL LIFE (10) will take his first look at The Triangle but boasts a smart last start victory. Overcoming an inside 2nd line gate, he was sent to race first over and proved too strong in claiming a head margin. He can arrive again.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (6) cops the tough gate and will also be tackling this track for the first time in his career. Making some nice metres in the Breeders Classic last start to grab the bronze, his maiden breaking win three starts back was a tidy effort and he can look to overcome the gate impediment.

REGAZZO DI TILLY (7) comes up with a tricky gate and will be relying on some factors in his favour. Runner-up in all three starts since breaking the maiden tag, he will be searching for the gaps.

PRETTY GOOD REASON (1) was a winner here two starts back when settling in behind the speed from this same gate and then arriving for a half-neck verdict. The gate advantage is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: FOR REAL LIFE (10), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (6), REGAZZO DI TILLY (7), PRETTY GOOD REASON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FOR REAL LIFE (10) to win

RACE FOUR

A drop back to this company with just the 10m impost looks ideal for L L COOL J (8) who held on for 3rd last start in the Flashing Red. Safely away and sent to the front, he was only 3m from the winner MACH SHARD. Charging home when a half-neck to that same winner the start prior, this looks right in the wheelhouse.

ITS BACK IN THE DAY (1) heads North for a Winter campaign and is one of two runners in the field for Bulldog Nicholson. Fresh up since his last start win over the Melton sprint trip, he had superior closing speed to claim a half-head margin. With a smart record from the tapes, he gets the opportunity to challenge.

SEBS CHOICE (6) is the other Nicholson runner and arrives a last start Melton winner when claiming the APG consolation, leading throughout from gate 5 and pulling clear for a big margin. His first look at The Triangle and his first standing start asks some important questions.

FEELINGFORARAINBOW (4) appreciated a hot tempo last week at headquarters and with the fresh legs powered over the top to claim a new career PB. Safely away in the Flashing Red, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: L L COOL J (8), ITS BACK IN THE DAY (1), SEBS CHOICE (6), FEELINGFORARAINBOW (4)
SUGGESTED BET: L L COOL J (8) to win

RACE FIVE

In the deepest edition of the Patrons Purse ever assembled, the Rickie Alchin trained CAPTAIN CRUSADER (1) can look to become just the second interstate winner at the 14th running. Stepping brilliantly last start over the 2647m at AP, he was steady early before ripping home a 54.1 closing half. With a win and a 2nd to KRUG in his two Redcliffe appearances, the gate is a huge plus.

ARTILLERY (7) makes his first appearance at Redcliffe off the back of a tough last start victory. Unable to repel the closing power of HEMSWORTH two starts back after sitting parked, he was able to graft out the win last start first over. He will be tucked in behind and if he gets track with forward momentum, he can throw it down.

HEMSWORTH (3) has won four of his past five and the past three in succession, taking full advantage of the chance to work home off speed. Saved last start, he loomed up and pulled clear to a 4m margin with a slick turn of hoof and with two wins on this deck, can make a closing play.

SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (10) has been super since resuming from an elongated break, resuming with a 3rd before winning all six starts since. With versatility to call on, this is a step up, but he can track into the contest.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN CRUSADER (1), ARTILLERY (7), HEMSWORTH (3), SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN CRUSADER (1) to win

RACE SIX

Another edition of the Showcase where TEAGAN BANNER (10) claimed a heat win at Marburg before that day’s Finals were abandoned. That was his first Aus appearance and followed it with a smart 5m margin behind SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE. Claiming a sharp win last start over this trip, he can overcome the 20m impost.

OUR MAJOR DAY (12) started from a 40m impost in the 2021 Showcase Final when chasing hard to grab the silver. He is without doubt the class of this contest but has the 30m to negotiate which is an ask over the sprint trip. 11m from FEELINGFORARAINBOW last start, he was only 3m in arrears the start prior and if stepping can challenge.

FEELING THE POWER (1) has placed at his past four in succession, the latest when hitting the line strongly wide off the track over the AP mile when beaten a half-neck. From this alley, he is right in the thick of it.

JILLIBY GIZMO (5) can fly the tapes and did so when claiming his last victory at Marburg when zipping across to lead from the four-lane and take them all the way. He can make a play here.

SELECTIONS: TEAGAN BANNER (10), OUR MAJOR DAY (12), FEELING THE POWER (1), JILLIBY GIZMO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TEAGAN BANNER (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

The second of the 2YO heats will see TARDELLI (6) looking to enhance his claim as the colt to beat for the Final. A winner at 5 of 6 career starts including the Bathurst Gold Crown at G1 level, he had a look at the track here at his first Qld outing when never out of 2nd gear with an effortless 15m victory. He should be too slick.

MULLUM AXEL (8) broke the maiden status in impressive fashion when taking them all the way in the Breeders Classic three starts back after darting through to protect the inside. Placed in both runs since that victory, he made an error last start but with a clean trip looks beast of the rest.

ODINS BLACK CROWS (7) was sent forward from gate 5 last start when second up and once in control was able to hold on for a 1m victory. Yet to see this track, he will be searching for open road.

FOXI FIVE (1) was sent forward from gate 5 last start over the AP mile and from the front was looking to see it out but faded late to be 5m from the winner. The gate advantage gives her podium claims.

SELECTIONS: TARDELLI (6), MULLUM AXEL (8), ODINS BLACK CROWS (7), FOXI FIVE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 6 / 1-7-8 / 1-5-7-8

RACE NINE

Working his way into winning form as his comeback continues, WEE MAN TROUBLE (9) is 1 from 1 here on The Triangle, that win coming when claiming the 2020 Cup off the front tape. A winner when closing hard under mobile conditions at his past two, this is a tough ask off the 30m, but against this opposition, it looks well within reach.

JUSTABITNOISY (5) chalked up another minor placing last start when hitting the line smartly to grab the bronze behind WEE MAN TROUBLE. Placed in 12 of 17 this season which includes a solitary win, he can settle closed enough with his manners to be looking for gaps to make a closing challenge.

BD KHAOSAN (4) started from the 20m handicap two starts back and had the closing power to descend on them for the prize. Moving to the front tape will assist his chances in featuring.

MAJESTIC HARRY (2) has only had the single look at this deck, making a starting error and putting himself out of contention. Beaten a half-neck over the AP 2647m two starts back, he is safe from the tapes and will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: WEE MAN TROUBLE (9), JUSTABITNOISY (5), BD KHAOSAN (4), MAJESTIC HARRY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WEE MAN TROUBLE (9) to win

RACE TEN

MUSTANG DUDE (1)
will need to bring his best manners from the tapes, but if he can manage to step safely, he finds the ideal conditions to capitalise. A Marburg winner three starts back when burrowing through to take them all the way under mobile conditions, he looks up to the task.

DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (4) eased from gate 6 last start to settle rearward and was then never in the mix when down the line. Midfield behind MOTU CULLEN at Marburg the start prior, she grabbed 3rd on that track three back and with this easier than recent attempts, she can challenge.

JANG PEL (10) resumes from a spell after winning both starts prior to being turned out. Taking them all the way last start from gate 1 over the Marburg 1850m, he can be making a late play.

MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (7) found the pocket trail from inside the second line last time out but could not go on with it. Buried away the start prior, he is a podium hope in an open contest.

SELECTIONS: MUSTANG DUDE (1), DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (4), JANG PEL (10), MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MUSTANG DUDE (1) to win
