RACE TWO

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (10) will have to overcome the outside 2nd line to claim victory, but the speed and tempo look genuine enough for the backmarkers in this. Pressing to the front from gate 3 last start, he was collared in the latter stages which followed a strong all-the-way win over the 2138m here 2 starts back. He can arrive in an open qualifier.

TWENTYEIGHTBLACK (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start and within 300m was outside the leader and up on the steel pulling hard. Fierce throughout, he zapped himself to finish down the line. Runner-up in both previous starts since arriving in Qld, he can search for redemption in this line-up.

ROCKNROLL DUDE (1) speared off the arm from gate 4 over the 2040m at Redcliffe last time out and after a steady opening half, dialled it up but could not see it out. From this gate he gets his chance to feature.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN (8) eased from gate 4 to secure position last start before hitting the line in good order when 6m in arrears of the dictating winner ASHARK. Only 2m rom OUR MADIBA the start prior, he will be pegged away and ready to offer.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (10), TWENTYEIGHTBLACK (4), ROCKNROLL DUDE (1), TIMELY SOVEREIGN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (10) to win

RACE THREE

This shapes as a tricky little contest where OUR MADIBA (8) will be sweating on being positioned leaders back and getting to the passing lane with momentum. If those 2 scenarios can eventuate, then he looks the one to beat. Holding on for 3rd to SHANNONSTHEMAN last week, he arrived for a smart win 2 runs back. Just needs it to go his way.

LEFT A TERROR (1) has placed at 6 of his past 7 starts as he continues to edge closer to a drought breaking win, having now passed 12 months since his last success. Nabbed late last start as SQUARE DEALER had the sit on him, he took cover from this gate over this trip 3 back when runner-up to MAJORDOIT. In front or trailing, he will be fighting.

LITTLE BOLT (4) is never far from the action and last start secured the 1x1 trail when chasing gamely for the bronze behind the flying ROYAL AURORA. Settling handy once again, he can feature in this.

MAJOR GENEARLJUJON (9) was back in winning form last start when having his 2nd run back from a spell. Eased from gate 5 to secure position over this trip, he attacked the line strongly. He has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: OUR MADIBA (8), LEFT A TERROR (1), LITTLE BOLT (4), MAJOR GENEARLJUJON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MADIBA (8) to win

RACE FIVE

ASHARK (6) tackled a qualifier here last week from gate 2 when sent straight to the front over this trip and once in control was able to dictate terms in scoring a 3m victory. Returning in stylish order this season, he has claimed 5 from 8 including a pair of strong wins over the mile at Newcastle. Now prepared by Charlie Cini, he can go back-to-back.

TACTICAL RESPONSE (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start over the mile and was soon locked away and searching for the gaps that never arrived. Working hard to press forward the start prior, he found cover and was in for the fight when 3rd to MISS RUBY SUNSHINE. He can get to the pointy end again to throw down the challenge.

ROCKITA (7) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was trying to find a way clear as ROYAL AURORA kicked clear to claim a strong win. Within 3m from a wide gate the start prior, she will be in the mix despite the tough gate.

MONTANA CHIEF (8) was beaten by gate 6 last start when forced to retreat and then when looking to make some closing metres did not see any space. He will be pinned away here but can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: ASHARK (6), TACTICAL RESPONSE (4), ROCKITA (7), MONTANA CHIEF (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

MISS GOLD FORTUNE (12)
was stepping out in Qld for the first time when asked to do plenty of work when racing first over in a strong qualifier claimed by OUR MADIBA. Back to mares only company last start, she took control from gate 6 when only grabbed in the closing strides. Outside the 2nd line is not ideal, but she looks to have the edge.

LOOKING FABULOUS (10) was wide for a good portion of proceedings last time out and was still giving when 7m in arrears of the winner. Snagged back from gate 6 here 2 starts back, she was pegged away and never really in the contest. Yet to win here in Qld, she has had her share of gaiting issues, but her past 3 have been much more consistent to challenge in this.

OURSOUTHERNSTAR (7) has no favours from this alley at her 2nd run since joining the Butler stable. Starting fav at her 1st appearance, she was wide off the track as ICE PICK ANGIE took the win. Limiting the early burn can see her feature.

KOTARE ELITE (1) set the tempo last start over the mile but was unable to fight them off when fading in the closing stages. Runner-up the start prior in a qualifier, the return to mares company is a plus.

SELECTIONS: MISS GOLD FORTUNE (12), LOOKING FABULOUS (10), OURSOUTHERNSTAR (7), KOTARE ELITE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS GOLD FORTUNE (12) to win

RACE SEVEN

SLINGSHOT (3)
can take advantage of the scratching inside to press forward to take control of this. A winner 3 runs back when leading from this gate over the mile and proving too slick in front, he has placed in both runs since. Gunned down in the last strides last week over the 2138m, he will take some stopping.

OYSTER STRIDE (8) is not that far away from a win and lands the gate for an economical trip here. He has shown previously that he does not like getting cramped up on the inside and if able to avoid that issue, should get the perfect trip here. Game in defeat when racing first over from gate 7 last start, he can challenge.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (9) speared off the arm to take control last start over the 2138m and when trying to dial it up through the closing half could not see it out. With the right trail he is in the mix.

THE FORTUNATE SON (10) returns from a freshen after a midfield finish last start behind MASTER CATCH. Forced to hang tough the start prior, he is at his best when rolling in front but can be joining in here.

SELECTIONS: SLINGSHOT (3), OYSTER STRIDE (8), DOUBLE OR NOTHING (9), THE FORTUNATE SON (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

SHANNONSTHEMAN (9)
was a 1st up winner when packing too much power in claiming a qualifier here 3 starts back. Locked away at his next run from the 2nd line as MISS RUBY SUNSHINE scored a smart win, he bounced back last week to dominate over the mile in new career PB. The gate stings but he was powerful last start and can go again.

KENSINGTON BILL (8) lands inside the 2nd line for the 3rd time at his past 4 starts and while on paper it can be a good trailing alley, it makes it tough in this contest. Hitting the board at his past 9 in succession, he was best of the chasers behind SHANNONSTHEMAN last start and will be probing for the space to chase.

BOHANNAN (6) was working hard in the breeze last start and not helped with a flat tyre as well. Runner-up the start prior when nailed right on the wire, he can be in the mix despite the gate.

PACIFIC DRUMS (7) pressed ahead from gate 6 over the mile last start and was able to wrestle away the lamp lighting duties and then never headed. Grabbed late the start prior off a 3-day back-up, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: SHANNONSTHEMAN (9), KENSINGTON BILL (8), BOHANNAN (6), PACIFIC DRUMS (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

GARLAND GREENE (4)
will appreciate a return to mobile conditions after facing big handicaps in recent outings. A winner at the mobile 2138m here 3 runs back when finishing over the top of them, he backed it up with a win from 40m over the same trip. He can tuck in behind with some likely early speed and with just the small field looks to get every chance.

RED CASTLETON (2) claimed The Marathon last start when taking inside runs and having too much closing speed to take the prize. Showing speed off the arm under mobile conditions the start prior before releasing and then going within a head of victory. With just 2 starts at the mile -the most recent of those back in December 2019- he can still throw it down here.

GEE UP NEDDY (6) has placed at his past 2 starts, the latest when runner-up to RED CASTLETON in The Marathon after working forward to secure position from his 20m impost and then taking a trail. The small field will aid his chances.

SELECTIONS: GARLAND GREENE (4), RED CASTLETON (2), GEE UP NEDDY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GARLAND GREENE (4) to win
