RACE TWO

Power, power, power- it looks to be fully charged in the early stages here and will be a big factor upon the outcome. OUR MADIBA (1) will have the 1st option to back away and was a smart winner here 3 starts back when finishing over the top of them from the 2nd line. Holding on for 3rd at his next appearance, forget his last start when striking trouble, the options appeal here.

FRANCO HAMPTON (2) was looking to make it 4 on the bounce last start when asked to roll the sleeves to do it the tough way. Starting from the six-hole on that occasion, he faded in the latter stages after the tough trip. Taking them all the way in consecutive 52.4 miles his prior 2 outings, finding the front here at that pace will take him a long way.

LEFT A TERROR (8) released the speed from gate 1 last start and then was launching the closing rally when falling a flared nostril shy of the prize. Gunned down the start prior, he will be searching for the gaps.

FEEL THE REIGN (5) finished over the top of them last time out in a claiming event after staying out of the early heat. A similar approach could pay dividends here and he can be making a closing play.

SELECTIONS: OUR MADIBA (1), FRANCO HAMPTON (2), LEFT A TERROR (8), FEEL THE REIGN (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (1)
steps up to Band 5 company to stay at the mile and comes up with the ideal alley to press for the prize. From the 2nd line last week, he was working home strongly to grab the silver behind SLINGSHOT. His previous 2 were over the 2138m and from this gate, he looks to get his chance.

SO KOOL MASTER (8) has placed at his past 2 starts where he has shown a penchant for punching through against the pegs. He comes up with that ideal pattern once again here and following a smart beginner can be one spot closer. Only 2m from the flying TIZ A SIZZLER last start, he will be probing.

MISS GOLD FORTUNE (9) fired out from gate 6 over the mile 2 runs back in a mares qualifier and was trying to fight them off when a half-neck shy of the winner. Too strong for the mares last start, she steps up here but is going well enough to join in.

TWENTYEIGHTBLACK (7) pressed through from inside the 2nd line here 2 runs back and then was too keen and beat himself. From the 1x1 trail last time out, he had too much closing power to score. The gate is a stinger for this assignment.

SELECTIONS: DOUBLE OR NOTHING (1), SO KOOL MASTER (8), MISS GOLD FORTUNE (9), TWENTYEIGHTBLACK (7)
SUGGESTED BET: DOUBLE OR NOTHING (1) to win

RACE FIVE

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) started from the 2nd line here last time out at the mile and the tempo up front made it tough to get into the fight as he finished midfield. Setting the speed here 2 runs back, he was gunned down late with KENSINGTON BILL and TWENTEIGHTBLACK the only runners to get past him and both having won since that event. Conditions look ideal for him to top the charts.

OYSTER STRIDE (1) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon pegged away 3 back and needing some favours in the run. He did not have the smoothest passage when midfield to the dictating winner SLINGSHOT with that run following a game effort from the breeze when within 2m after starting from gate 7. Settling one position closer in this can see him challenge.

OUR UNCLE JIM (3) was resuming from a freshen here 3 runs back when finishing strongly from gate 6 to go within a head of the winner. Working home nicely in both runs since, he can be close enough to join in again here.

VANTORI HANOVER (4) tackled a mares qualifier last start when able to finish midfield despite striking trouble in the run. Buried away the start prior at her first run back from a spell, the added fitness can see he make a play.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2), OYSTER STRIDE (1), OUR UNCLE JIM (3), VANTORI HANOVER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) to win

RACE SIX

The 1st feature race of the year for the 2YO’s in Qld with 5 of the 9 runners on debut. Those debutants look to be facing a task with the barrier favouring 2 runners with exposed form. ARNOLD STREET (1) hustled off the arm at his debut to lead before being run-down in the closing stages to hold 2nd. He found the line strongly in a trial and with added experience has the options to cash-in.

I AM SPARTA (2) was the 1st 2YO winner of the season in Qld when spearing out from gate 5 to take control against the older horses and from the front blazed a trail to claim a 20m victory. That was back on February 16 and he has been to the trials twice to keep ticking over, although making an error in one of those. He has the gate to throw it down.

BANGKOK DEEJAY (8) is a debutant gelding by A Rocknroll Dance out of Bangkok Dancer, thus ranking as a half-brother to MANILA PLAYBOY. His trials have been impressive and with the cosy trip 1st up has podium claims.

LEAP TO FAME (9) is by champion sire Bettors Delight out of Lettucereason making his debut for Grant Dixon. Coming through a trial where he beat home RACY ROXY who has since won the 1st 2YO only event for the season. He looks a nice type in the making.

SELECTIONS: ARNOLD STREET (1), I AM SPARTA (2), BANGKOK DEEJAY (8), LEAP TO FAME (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ARNOLD STREET (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

MACHS MARETA (1)
has had 7 starts here at The Creek and drawn closer than gate 7 on one occasion. That time she was sent to the post in red figures from the three-hole in a mares qualifier over the 2138m and was a neck from the winner BRITNEY JANE. Although she has limited experience at the mile, she lands the gate to get every chance.

LOOKING FABULOUS (8) made an error in the run last start that ended her chances when starting as an equal favourite in a wide-open betting market. That race was claimed by MISS GOLD FORTUNE and had followed a super effort when only 7m away after being three-wide the trip. If her manners are on, she can challenge.

CHIASSO (5) was attacking the line strongly in a driver’s invitation event 2 runs back, closing hard wide of the track when a neck from the winner. Franking that run with a strong finish last start to land the prize, back to mares only grade appeals.

OUR STELLA ROSE (9) made the perfect start in the Sunshine State when charging home over the top of them at Redcliffe to land a smart win a the 2040m. Her run at The Triangle on Wed had merit and with the pegs a good option in this, can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: MACHS MARETA (1), LOOKING FABULOUS (8), CHIASSO (5), OUR STELLA ROSE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-8-9

RACE EIGHT

MOHS EM DOWN (4)
has been runner-up at both runs since joining the Donny Smith barn in mid-week company and gets the opportunity to step it up into Saturday night grade here. Rolling the sleeves to do it the tough way last start when 4m from NIMAH FRANCO, he can press forward here to capitalise.

OUR MAJOR DAY (1) set the speed from gate 2 over this trip last start and with the power on all the way, was unable to see it out. His form was tapering and sent for the freshen, he has had a tune up at the Warwick Show in readiness for a return to the main stage. From this gate, he has the options to challenge.

MAJORDOIT (8) is racing consistently and backs up from Tuesday where he was asked to hang tough in the breeze. Fighting hard when 8m away, it followed a late closing 3rd to LEOS BEST here last Saturday. With the 2nd line options, he is in the mix.

KENSINGTON BILL (7) has no favours from the wide alley, but his form cannot be ignored, yet to miss the board in 9 starts this season. He charged home to score here last start and if there is some heat generated in the early and middle stages, he comes right into calculations.

SELECTIONS: MOHS EM DOWN (4), OUR MAJOR DAY (1), MAJORDOIT (8), KENSINGTON BILL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY

RACE NINE

Showing the benefit of 2 runs back from a spell heading into his latest appearance, NORTHERN MUSCLE (9) was able to score a strong win over the mobile mile. Sent around to control the race from the breeze, he was too smart for the chasers to take the prize. He has the 30m to overcome but with great manners he can go back-to-back.

GODOFTHUNDER (1) will take great benefit from his return following a spell when stepping straight to the front here last start. With even panels out in front, he only faded late to be midfield and 10m in arrears of the winner. Yet to land a win since arriving in Qld, the inside lane off the front tape aids his chances.

SKYLINE (5) angled to the pegs from this mark 2 runs back over the 2138 and was searching for a closing play when 8m from the winner MUSCULUS. A tiring leader cost him all chance last start and with a sound record at the trip can feature.

MAJESTIC SIMON (10) has placed in 3 of his 4 starts since returning from a spell and all at the big handicaps. Sent forward early to take control in the Marathon 2 starts back prior to fading late, he is in the mix again here.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (9), GODOFTHUNDER (1), SKYLINE (5), MAJESTIC SIMON (10)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHERN MUSCLE (9) to win
