RACE TWO

FORTES IN FIDE (1) started from inside the 2nd line here 2 runs back and was searching for the gaps when 6m in deficit of the winner. Eased from gate 6 last start, he made a move and was then searching for short-cuts when running a smart closing 800m without getting a full crack at them. With the options, he gets his chance.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (9) showed early hustle from gate 1 over the 2040m here last start before taking the trail on the speed. Darting back to the passing lane, he was a half-head in arrears of the winner. Looking to make late ground the start prior, this looks slightly easier than recent assignments.

FOUR FOR FOUR (4) resumes from a spell after being shut down following the 3YO features in the Summer Carnival. A fighting 3rd in the QBRED Fillies when only 2m away, she has trialled in nice fashion for the return.

VENUS JUJON (6) is stung by the six-hole here but is nearing another win after finishing as the runner-up in 4 of her past 6 appearances. Grabbed in the closing strides by NEARIS GREEN last time out, she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: FORTES IN FIDE (1), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (9), FOUR FOR FOUR (4), VENUS JUJON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FORTES IN FIDE (1) to win

RACE THREE

AFTER DARN (5)
has the wide gate to overcome as she takes another step up, but her 1st 2 outings in Qld have been impressive. Blasting clear to break the maiden tag 2 runs back and scoring by 20m, she backed that up last start with a 12m victory from this same alley. The threepeat is on the cards.

TODAYS HERO (2) started from the ace last start and after some early speed opted for the trail and then had to settle for 2nd after starting as fav. Not much went his way the previous 2 starts from 2nd line barriers and although the winless streak continues to stretch out, the gate can help his chances.

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon pinned down 3 back and looking for the gaps when grabbing 3rd. A winner here 4 runs back, he is in the mix again.

JOVIAL JULIE (6) is never too far from the action and has hit the board in 22 of her 35 outings here at Redcliffe. Holding on for 3rd from the pocket trail last week, she can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: AFTER DARN (5), TODAYS HERO (2), ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (4), JOVIAL JULIE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: AFTER DARN (5) to win

RACE FOUR

ABERCROMBIE TAB (3) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when setting the speed in front and grabbed in the closing strides to be a head in arrears of the winner. Working across to find the front from gate 5 on that occasion, it followed a luckless effort when buried away. From this gate he gets every chance.

SIGNOR JUJON (8) started from gate 9 here 2 runs back over the sprint trip when sent around the field early to get outside the leader. In for the tough stuff, he was grinding hard when holding on for 2nd. Runner-up again last start when only a half-head in arrears, he can look to challenge in this.

DOOLITTLE DANDY (1) has had 3 runs back form a spell and should be getting close to a fitness peak. Placed at his 1st 2 runs back from a spell, he will get the easy trip here and can be ready to strike.

MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4) found the front from this gate 2 runs back and was able to fight them off in claiming victory as the fav. Fading after doing the work last start, he might need to roll the sleeves again here.

SELECTIONS: ABERCROMBIE TAB (3), SIGNOR JUJON (8), DOOLITTLE DANDY (1), MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ABERCROMBIE TAB (3) to win

RACE FIVE

FEELING THE POWER (1) was returning from a freshen here 3 starts back when sent forward from gate 6 to find the front. In for the fight, he was grabbed in the closing stages to claim 2nd and followed that with a tidy win from inside the 2nd line. Grabbed late last start, he has the speed to lead and will be gripping on tight.

PATCHWORK JET (7) was working hard in the run over the AP mile 2 starts back and was not helped by a flat tyre impeding his progress. Returning here to Redcliffe last start from the 2nd line, he found the right race and was able to finish best in claiming the prize. With the economical trip, he can challenge.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4) eased from gate 6 last time out before making some strong ground in the latter stages when not that far from the winner. Beaten by the gate 2 runs back, he can join in here.

GHOST GUM (2) worked home soundly to grab the bronze here 2 runs back and then not much went right when still only 5m away last start. Winning at the Warwick Show on Friday, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: FEELING THE POWER (1), PATCHWORK JET (7), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4), GHOST GUM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-7

RACE SIX

BETTING BARON (5)
settled in the running line from gate 8 here 2 runs back and was trying to make a closing play when 3rd behind TILDALYN. With even panels set in front last start, he was able to finish over the top of them for a narrow victory. Finding a spot on the cheap, he can go close once again.

TILDALYN (9) was ducking and weaving through the pack last start after settling back in the field. Finishing with a wet sail, she was able to nab the leader in the closing stages to score. Doing as little as possible to find position is the key to her chances and if able to do that, she can finish hard here.

MISS CATALINA (6) was a winner here 3 runs back after a cosy trip 3 back on the poles before sprinting sharply to claim the cash. The gate doe her no favours but if able to get a rub of the green, she can chime in late.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (4) was shooting for a hat-trick here 2 starts back when looking to have all the aces after a steady opening half in front. Grabbed late by KAY NORA SHANNON, he had to settle for 3rd last start. Limiting the early burn will be key to his chances in this.

SELECTIONS: BETTING BARON (5), TILDALYN (9), MISS CATALINA (6), IMA BIRUBI BOY (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

MUSTANG DUDE (2)
is yet to breakthrough in Qld with his best return coming when leading here 4 runs back and holding on for the silver. It has not gone his way in 3 runs since, including tough runs and a 2nd line alley. With the chance to pounce on the pegs, he will get every chance to dictate.

FAMOUS SHOES (8) was pegged away 3 back on the inside over the AP mile 4 runs back and was strong to the line for the silver behind ILLBEWATCHING. 2nd line draws hurt at his next 2 before holding on for 2nd last start. Following through early at the start will give him a chance to challenge.

GIGANTIC JASPER (7) has been to the track on 3 occasions since returning from a spell, the latest when 8m from the winner after securing the pocket trail in transit. Probing for runs, he can chime in.

THATS FUNNY (5) was asked to race tough last start outside the leader and was grinding hard for the silver when 1.5m from subsequent winner GUTS. The gate doe her no favours but she can feature.

SELECTIONS: MUSTANG DUDE (2), FAMOUS SHOES (8), GIGANTIC JASPER (7), THATS FUNNY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MUSTANG DUDE (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

These maidens over the 2040m always prove a test and this is no exception with just 2 of the 9 runners having stepped out over the longer trip previously. GO AWAY (9) is not one of those and takes her 1st look at the trip off the back of a hard finishing 3rd when only a head away last time out. The gate does her no favours, but she might just have found conditions to suit.

KAMEKONA (7) will need some factors in his favour from this alley but will take great benefit from his last start appearance when 1st up in 18 months. He did not have the smoothest passage in that event when 8m from the winner and if a gap opens, he can look to make a play for the prize.

STEEVEN (5) steps up to the distance for the 1st time but has placed in 2 of his 3 starts here on The Triangle. Losing all chance from the pocket trail last start when the leader hoisted the white flag, he can chime in here.

PRINCESS CHILLA (1) returns from a spell to start her 3YO term, put away after 8 starts returned 2 minors in her 1st season of racing. Warming up with a sound trial effort, the gate will aid her chances.

SELECTIONS: GO AWAY (9), KAMEKONA (7), STEEVEN (5), PRINCESS CHILLA (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

GLITTER STRIP (3)
has been to the track on 3 occasions since returning from a spell, with all 3 starts coming at The Creek. 7m in arrears of OUR BOY ROY last start when trying to make a closing play, it followed a down the line effort from a wide gate when retreating early. A previous winner here on The Triangle, he looks to have found suitable conditions.

OUR BELLA LUCIA (7) speared across from gate 5 here 3 runs back to find the front but was unable to see it out when fading late to be 7m shy of the winner. Finding the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line at her next outing, she finished best to score and followed that with a tidy 3rd last time. She will be probing.

THREE MACHS (5) was moving towards a maiden breaking victory after finishing as the runner-up in 2 of her 3 previous starts. Finishing best last start in scoring as the fav, the gate stings but she has claims.

DATSINAHURRI (1) should appreciate the improved alley after facing wide and 2nd line alleys in recent starts. Locked away against the poles last start, she can settle closer to be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GLITTER STRIP (3), OUR BELLA LUCIA (7), THREE MACHS (5), DATSINAHURRI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: GLITTER STRIP (3) to win
