Racing Queensland advises that the Cairns Jockey Club race meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8, has been postponed and rescheduled to Monday, March 14.
The decision to postpone the meeting was made by QRIC officials as a consequence of the extreme heat and humidity conditions in the region, and following consultation with the raceday veterinarian.
The meeting’s rescheduling results in the same race program being retained, however given the duration of time which will elapse between tomorrow and the meeting’s rescheduled date, and in accordance with standard RQ protocol adopted in such instances, fresh nominations will be called for.
Nominations will close at 11am, Wednesday, March 9

As a consequence of the change, coupled with the fact that the meeting will now fall on Adelaide Cup Day, live broadcast will be provided on Sky Racing 1, however there will be no Sky Thoroughbred Central coverage available.
