RACE TWO

CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (2) returns from a spell to kick off his 3YO campaign after a last start victory to wrap up his 2YO term. Sent forward from the second line to sit parked, he pulled clear to claim a commanding 35m victory. Opening the pipes with a tidy trial, he can strike here fresh.

YARRAMAN ROCKY (1) should appreciate the return to the tight gate after facing a second line alley here last week. Settled in the 1x1 trail after being sent out fav, he could not get near the leader and winner DUSTY PLAINS. Fitter again after two runs back from a break, he has the gate to challenge.

was fired off the gate last start at Redcliffe to find the front from gate 3 over the 1780m trip. Leading deep into the stretch, it was only BETTOR MEMORIES with a cosy trip on the poles that was able to get past. Some front-line tempo will aid her chances of arriving.

ROCCO VARIETY (3) has placed at his past two starts when setting the speed where he has been unable to see it out. Worried out of it on the line last start when beaten a head by SHESA PEARLA, he comes up with the gate to make a play for the prize once again.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (4) has been runner-up at his past two starts on this track, the latest when sent to sit parked from gate 5 and holding on behind OUR EDUARDO DENARIO. The gate stings.

MELTON INSULTED (2) will be shooting for her third successive Thursday Marburg victory following wins here when parked and then last week when leading. Firing off the arm from gate 4 to take control last start, she kept them rolling the last 800m to put it out of reach. She will throw it down.

PACIFIC COIN (6) will be needing a slice of luck at some stage as he looks set to be buried in the run from this alley. After a hat-trick of his own last start when never in the mix, he will be probing here.

SQUARE DEALER (2) made the most of an improved alley to lead throughout at the Redcliffe sprint trip three starts back and has placed in both runs since. The latest was here when wide off the track from the second line to get within a neck of the winner. The gate is a big plus.

CALVERT HOT SHOT (3) eased from gate 3 at Redcliffe last start to find the 1x1 trail which allowed him to find the closing speed to power over the top. He is in the mix again here.
