The former leading man of the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace operation in Sydney is set to launch his own training team in Brisbane's north at Deagon.

As well as working for Maher and Eustace, the up-and-coming Jack Bruce has also previously spent time with leading barns such as Bjorn Baker and Chris Waller in Sydney.

After more than a decade of thoroughbred industry experience in Sydney, most recently as an assistant trainer, Bruce has announced he will launch his own team in Queensland from May this year.

"I'm thrilled to be establishing my own training operation in Brisbane after spending the last seven years in Sydney racing working for Australia's best," Bruce said.

Jack grew up in New Zealand working at Windsor Park Stud, before graduating from the prestigious Godolphin Flying Start.

He has subsequently acquired an impressive body of experience, including stints under leading trainers Mike De Kock, Baker, Waller, as well as Maher and Eustace.

“The time is now right to go training on my own account. Queensland racing continues to go from strength to strength and I am excited to be a part of it," he said.

“I have been acquiring tried horses to join my team and I will be active at the upcoming Magic Millions March Yearling Sale this week.”

Bruce led Maher and Eustace's horses at their Warwick Farm stables before deciding to relocate to Deagon.

"I believe this base is the perfect launching point for Jack Bruce Racing," he said of Deagon, which is based in Brisbane's northern suburbs.

The leading stable of Maher and Eustace said Bruce had "extensive experience" while working for them.

Bruce worked closely with 2022 Magic Millions winner Coolangatta before she arrived in the Sunshine State.
