The training partnership of Steve O‘Dea and Matt Hoysted’s confidence of claiming the fillies’ QTIS Jewel Prelude with She’sgottheboom has received a massive boost with the transfer of Saturday’s Doomben meeting to Toowoomba.

Officials were hopeful on Thursday the Doomben meeting would proceed until a heavy downpour further drenched the waterlogged track which was already rated a Heavy 10.

The decision to transfer the meeting to Toowoomba was made Friday morning following an early track inspection which revealed further damage to the rain-soaked track.

She’sgottheboom is a short-priced favourite to claim the 1100-metre Prelude to the $500,000 QTIS Jewel over 1200 metres at the Gold Coast on March 19.

“We’re happy the meeting has been transferred to Toowoomba where it’ll be run on a better surface,” Hoysted.

“Toowoomba is in the soft range but we were uncertain how she would handle a heavy track if they raced at Doomben.”

She’sgottheboom showed above average ability wining her only start by more than three lengths when she led all the way over 1110 metres at Doomben on February 15.

“She’s a very smart filly but there’s some doubt about whether the Spirit Of Booms really handle heavy tracks,” Hoysted said.

“She trialled well before she won her first start and won like a smart horse.

“She’s won on a soft track the day she won and ran good time.

“There was talk the meeting could be held over to Monday but that would have made it hard for horses getting ready for the QTIS Jewel in a few weeks.”

O’Dea and Hoysted are looking for their first QTIS Jewel victory after falling short in two previous attempts.

“There’s no question she’s a very talented filly but she’ll be taking on the Toowoomba crew on their home track,” Hoysted said.

“But she’s got very good gate speed and will lead unless something wants to take her on.”

Hoysted believes She’sgottheboom has the ability to measure up to the TAB Queensland Winter Racing Carnival but has no plans set in concrete to target races the major juvenile features.

“We’ll let her get through the QTIS Jewel first and see how she is mentally after that,” he said.

“When she first started off she was very quick but she’s come ahead in leaps and bounds since then.”
