Racing Queensland advises that the Sunshine Coast Turf Club race meeting tomorrow, Friday, March 4, has been transferred to the club's Polytrack.

The decision to transfer the meeting was made following the determination that there is no likelihood that the course proper at the venue will recover sufficiently in time for tomorrow evening’s race meeting to proceed on that surface.

The transfer of the meeting has necessitated changes to some of the distances on the program. They are:

  • Race 4 – was 2200m, is now 2150m;
  • Race 6 – was 1200m, is now 1100m; and
  • Race 7 – was 1800m, is now 2000m.

The transfer has also resulted in an adjustment to the starting limits of some races on the program.

Trainers should note that in accordance with RQ protocol (and wagering service operator requirements), any scratchings made prior to the race meeting being transferred are unable to be reinstated.

There will also be no fees applicable for scratchings made at the meeting, irrespective of the time they were transacted.

It is hoped that if some drying weather is experienced, the Sunshine Coast Turf Club race meeting this Sunday, March 6, will be able to be conducted on the venue’s course proper.
