RACE TWO

WILL THE WIZARD (4) has not quite been at his best since returning from his Chariots of Fire mission and he has been down the line at his past 2 starts. Not much went his way last start when officially last but still not all that far from the winner TAROONA BROMAC. Gate 12 was his undoing the start prior and with a return to his own age under these conditions, he can cast the right spell to score.

BLACKSADANCE (7) was sent forward from this same gate last start when sent to the post as fav and after the torrid trip was out of bullets but dug in to be 7m from the winner TACTICAL RESPONSE. That followed successive wins at the mile and despite the horrid gate once again, will throw down a big challenge.

BOMBADIER JUJON (10) was beaten by gate 7 last start when caught wide and forced to retreat to secure position. Closing out smartly, it followed a 1m 2nd to ADAM CROCKER in the APG G2 event. If the heat is dialled up, he can swoop late.

GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (12) was angled to the poles here 2 runs back when out and chasing after the bird had flown to grab 2nd to MACH LE MORE. It did not really go his way last start but under these conditions he can join in.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (4), BLACKSADANCE (7), BOMBADIER JUJON (10), GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (12)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (4) to win

RACE THREE

The stars looked to have aligned for DYNAMIC DAN (2) after missing the main Final and then landing the top gate for this consolation. Runner-up to BIG WHEELS in the 2YO Triad, he returned this season to score a smart 2nd up win. Sent for a break after a sound effort behind DANCE IN THE SUN, he will strip fitter from his latest offering when working hard in the run. He looks tough to stop.

HES SWEET (7) is the big loser from the barrier draw and has also not been too far from making the G1 Final. Instead, he needs to overcome a stiff gate. Game in defeat 4 runs back when facing the breeze in an APG heat and holding on for 2nd, his win here 2 starts back as a strong effort at the mile. Unknown at the middle-distance, he has the measure of a many of these.

OCTOBER RACKETEER (3) has faced wide or 2nd line gates at his past 4 and should appreciate some barrier relief here. Chasing hard when 3rd to JASPER last start, he can be close enough in transit to feature.

RINGOS A STAR (12) has hit the board in all 4 runs back this campaign, the latest when wide of the track over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Charging to get within a half-neck, it followed a strong win over the 2040m. He will be wide but can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: DYNAMIC DAN (2), HES SWEET (7), OCTOBER RACKETEER (3), RINGOS A STAR (12)
SUGGESTED BET: DYNAMIC DAN (2) to win

RACE FIVE

MANILA PLAYBOY (6) has returned in superb order and will be in search of a hat-trick of victories. 1st up at the mile he powered home to an effortless win in posting a 35m winning margin and backed that up with victory at his 1st attempt over the 2138m. Sent forward to take control on that occasion, he can keep the momentum up here to dictate to his rivals.

BIG WHEELS (11) goes in search of the 2YO/3YO Triad double but has been left with a task from this gate. Given a light campaign as the season develops, he was 1st up from a freshen when making an early error before recovering and sent forward before JUSTA LITTLE BIT nabbed him. Too slick in front last start over the mile, the 2138m and the 2nd line have made his job hard.

JUSTA LITTLE BIT (13) returned to Qld with a smart win when pressing forward from gate 5 before taking cover on BIG WHEELS and then making the closing shot a winning one. Not ideally suited last start when 3rd, he will be making a late play in this.

SCOTCH EN ICE (1) was defeated by gate 7 last time out over this trip when doing plenty of work 3 the middle stages but never shirling the task behind FRONTLINER. With early hustle, he can wait for the right cover and chase thereafter.

SELECTIONS: MANILA PLAYBOY (6), BIG WHEELS (11), JUSTA LITTLE BIT (13), SCOTCH EN ICE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MANILA PLAYBOY (6) to win

RACE SIX

DANGERZONE (5)
opened his account with a stylish victory when on debut and powering home in the closing stages to claim the Changeover Classic. Eased from gate 4 in the early stages, he showed plenty of power in arriving. That win was back on Mar 27 and with 3 trials to prepare for his 2nd up outing, he looks to be a classy type in the making.

ARNOLD STREET (6) has faced the starter on 3 occasions, hitting the board in all 3. He lost momentum when needing the gap in the Changeover Classic when grabbing the bronze 2 starts back and then scored a smart win last start. He returned a smart trial in preparation for this and if the heat is dialled up, he can chime in late.

I AM SPARTA (2) has landed inside the 2nd line at his past 2 starts through the heat and final of the APG Series. He could not go with them when chasing in the heat and then used the passing lane in the Final when 4m away. The improved gate can see him sharpen up.

CLASS TO THE MAX (9) finished as the runner-up on debut when 6m from LEAP TO FAME and came out 2nd up to claim the APG Gold Bullion for the boys. He will not have the benefit of the gate like last time but can feature once again.

SELECTIONS: DANGERZONE (5), ARNOLD STREET (6), I AM SPARTA (2), CLASS TO THE MAX (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ARNOLD STREET (6) win/place

RACE EIGHT

LILLIES (3)
has placed at her past 3 in succession, the latest when 4m from ATOMIC BOMBSHELL after releasing to DANCE IN THE SUN. Grabbed in the closing stages with within 1.5m of JASPER in an APG heat the start prior, she steps up to the middle-distance for the 1st time but looks to get her chance.

VANISH HANOVER (5) has a win over the longer distance to her name, with that win coming at the 2125m trip at Penrith but most of her recent racing has been at the sprint trip. Finding the right conditions last start to charge home at Redcliffe, a return to her own age and sex will give her the chance to challenge.

PRINCESS CHILLA (8) broke the maiden status last start when pressing ahead to take control over the Redcliffe 1780m trip and put them away in smart fashion. Needing a rub of the green here, she will be probing.

BONNIES A ROCKIN (9) is the emergency for the main final and should she line up in this, looms as a solid hope. Not suited last start when required to work in the run, her effort 2 starts back was strong enough to put her right in the frame here.

SELECTIONS: LILLIES (3), VANISH HANOVER (5), PRINCESS CHILLA (8), BONNIES A ROCKIN (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

BANGKOK DEEJAY (4) tackled the Changeover Classic on debut where he made a starting error from inside the 2nd line. His trials prior to his 1st race appearance were solid and he has since gone around to remove the ODM status in a trial. He looks to have his share of ability and can look to capitalise.

GOING GREAT GUNS (5) is the emergency for the main Breeders Classic and if not required there, can look to make a strong play in this. Sound to the line when 2nd up for the silver behind TEDDY DISCO, he showed early speed on debut to lead them up but could not see it out. He looks the challenger here.

MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (3) is a Cammibest colt on debut for Shannon Price that ranks as a full brother to JUSTA LITTLE BIT. Given time to progress through the trialling process, he stays under notice 1st up.

THE HARRIS HAWK (1) fired across from gate 4 to lead last start over the Redcliffe 1780m trip but was left with nothing in the locker when fading out. From the inside alley he has the early options for a sharper return.

SELECTIONS: BANGKOK DEEJAY (4), GOING GREAT GUNS (5), MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (3) THE HARRIS HAWK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BANGKOK DEEJAY (4) to win

RACE TEN

Hard race to dissect here with just the six runners but with three of those on debut. Leaning to the gate advantaged runner ROSES ARE SWEET (1) that makes her first outing for Chantal Turpin. Trialling in nice order behind DANGERZONE in readiness for this, she can make a winning start to her career.

JEREMES GOTTA GO (2) is by Gotta Go Cullen that makes her debut for Jason Carkeet. Her preparatory trial was a nice hit out behind MISTY CREEK and with the early option to dart down to the pegs if required can aid her chances.

EXPLANATION NOTED (5) is the third debutant, a filly by Changeover for Grant Dixon. Down the line in a qualifying trial at Redcliffe, she can fill the top 3 to close out the night.

SELECTIONS: ROSES ARE SWEET (1), JEREMES GOTTA GO (2), EXPLANATION NOTED (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ROSES ARE SWEET (1) to win
