RACE ONE

Getting close to a breakthrough after finishing as the bridesmaid at her past three in succession, AUNTY KAREN (1) comes up the gate to make it her day to shine. Just a half-neck in arrears last start after doing all the heavy lifting, she can poke through to get on the board.

BETONBETTY (3) has placed at her past two starts, the latest when sent to the front from gate 3 and setting the speed was trying to fight them off in the stretch. Collared in the closing stages, she was able to hold on for the bronze and with early speed can look to make a challenge.

GELIGNITE JOE (6) was well supported at his Qld debut but did not look to handle the Redcliffe track and after a mid-race move, could not go on with it. With the wider expanses on offer, he can improve.

TIN AMBER MINE (8) is a 2YO debutant trained by Jonah Hutchinson taking on the older horses, having qualified in the NSW Riverina. By Tintin In America, he has the right draw to feature first up.

SELECTIONS: AUNTY KAREN (1), BETONBETTY (3), GELIGNITE JOE (6), TIN AMBER MINE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: AUNTY KAREN (1) to win

RACE TWO

REMEMBER EVE (8) makes her first appearance here on the big deck after making it 3 from 3 at Redcliffe since arriving in Qld. A maiden before claiming the first of the hat-trick wins three starts back, she was too classy last start in front. Relying on some factors in her favour, she can go again.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (1) returns from an extended NSW campaign where she went winless but placed in 6 of her 16 outings. Runner-up four starts back at Coolamon behind FLANEUR after setting the speed, she lands the options from this gate to throw down the challenge.

JILLIBY GIZMO (5) has been thereabouts of late, having placed in 4 of his 5 starts since winning a standing start event at Marburg. Grabbed in the last stride two starts back, he is in the mix.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (9) rolled across from gate 5 last start to find the 1x1 trail and with the good run-in transit was able to hold on for the bronze. With a similar trail, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: REMEMBER EVE (8), TORQUE TO THE MAX (1), JILLIBY GIZMO (5), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-8-9

RACE THREE

SPEAK WITH SAM (2)
was sent out in red figures last start form gate 2 and after setting the speed was unable to hold off the closing raid when beaten a head. A smart all the way winner two starts back when second up from a spell, he has the gate to look to dictate once again.

JUST DESSY (1) started from gate 1 last time out and was soon shuffled to three back on the poles. Looking for inside runs, he was able to slice through, grab the win and then also hold on to the prize in the steward’s room. He lands the gate to get the perfect trail once again and look for the repeat.

GOOD AS IT GETS (4) was hemmed away from inside the second line last start over the mile and was searching for gaps when finishing 7m from the winner. A nice 3rd the start prior, he is right in the fight.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5) is a consistent campaigner that brings a pair of placings from his past two starts, the latest in a small field of 3 where they ripped home a slick last 800m. With the right trip he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SPEAK WITH SAM (2), JUST DESSY (1), GOOD AS IT GETS (4), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEAK WITH SAM (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Sent forward to sit parked from the second line last time out at Redcliffe, A GOOD IDEAL (10) was up to the challenge and was able to dig deep to claim a 4m winning margin. Wilting after setting the speed just three days earlier, he has the tough gate but finds a winnable contest.

JET FORCE (8) is still chasing his first win of the season, but it looks to be getting closer after placing at 3 of his past 5 starts. Pressing on to the front last start from gate 4 but unable to see it out last start, he can secure the economical trip here and be ready to make a closing challenge.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (5) worked to the front last start over the Redcliffe 1780m and from the front was clinging on in the stretch, only to be collared and finish 4m from the winner. He can be thereabouts again.

WILD ABOUT TOWN (1) was asked to do it the tough way last start when sitting parked and after the tough trip faded over the latter stages. Runner-up the start prior when leading, he has the gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: A GOOD IDEAL (10), JET FORCE (8), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (5), WILD ABOUT TOWN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: A GOOD IDEAL (10) to win

RACE FIVE

This looks a tough contest to dissect where some of the more fancied chances have poor numbers here on the big deck. DIEGO DELGADO (7) recorded his only victory here at headquarters back in January and his recent efforts have been sound. 7m in arrears of COPY WRITER last start, he receives no favours from the outside gate.

ROCCO VARIETY (3) was the equal fav last start from gate 1 on the Triangle and after setting the speed, could not hold off the challengers when clinging on for the bronze. Taking them all the way from gate 6 the start prior, he can fire the early bullets again here to challenge.

LEFT IN THE WIND (5) has a zero return in 9 previous attempts here at The Creek, but here recent form is sound and includes 2 wins from her past 5. Finishing best last start, she is in the mix.

JACOBS THUNDER (6) was first up from a spell and taking his first Qld appearance when pressing to the front at Redcliffe last start and holding off the small field. This will be a step up, but he can feature.

SELECTIONS: DIEGO DELGADO (7), ROCCO VARIETY (3), LEFT IN THE WIND (5), JACOBS THUNDER (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

An enigmatic customer that has been facing the wide gates as a result of his unruly tendencies, MI FURIOSO TORO (1) should relish the chance to get tight to the poles here. Snagged back last start and closing out soundly, he was within 1.5m of THE CASUAL GOOSE two starts back and gets his chance to capitalise.

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (9) is yet to hit the board in 8 attempts here at The Creek, but his recent form put him in the mix for this contest. A winner at 2 of his past 3 starts, he powered home over the top of them last start over the 1780m at Redcliffe and with a cheap trip can challenge here.

HEARTBREAK (6) was asked to do it the tough way last start from gate 3 and was up for the challenge when grafting out a narrow victory. The wide gate stings the repeat hopes here.

MONTEREY JACK (3) has placed in 3 of his past 5 starts, the latest when sent out as favourite and trying to fight them off finished 2m in arrears of the winner. Beaten a lip the start prior, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: MI FURIOSO TORO (1), ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (9), HEARTBREAK (6), MONTEREY JACK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MI FURIOSO TORO (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

BETTOR ROCKNROLL (10)
was sent out as the favourite last start at Redcliffe from gate 2 and after a bit of a Do Si Do as the gate pulled clear, was obliged to cut the breeze thereafter. Holding on for 2nd behind the clear out winner CANDYKANE, he can get the right tempo to charge home over the top.

ZARAS A TREASURE (6) was sent around them in the early stages from the second line last start in the small field of 6 and was soon in front and dictating. Trying to fight them off, it was only LETSPLAYUNI up the passing lane that could get past, beaten a neck. She can throw it down again.

TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7) was returning from a spell last time out when making a mess of the start that sees him banished to the outside alley. Progressing nicely last campaign, he can atone here.

PARTY POLTIX (4) has hit the board at her past four in succession, the latest from the pocket trail after releasing from gate 1 behind the gun TEDDY DISCO. Positioning cheaply will be key.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR ROCKNROLL (10), ZARAS A TREASURE (6), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7), PARTY POLTIX (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR ROCKNROLL (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

In another tricky race with a capacity field over the 2138m, HIGH ON MONTANA (12) will need to defeat the statistician as well as the tough gate. Winless in 19 attempts at the 2138m on this track, his recent form at Redcliffe has been solid, the latest when charging home for 2nd. A solid tempo will assist his chances.

CALVERT HOT SHOT (8) eased from gate 3 last start to find position and was soon back in the pack when trying to launch a closing raid. His previous two runs were handy efforts from tough gates and with the likelihood of a cosy trip in behind the speed, he can be searching for the space to strike.

ALTANA BLUE (10) was able to grind out a determined 3rd form the breeze three starts back over the Redcliffe 2040m and followed that with a 2nd behind BRIAN CHRISTOPHER. He is right in the mix.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (1) has placed at his past four in succession but also has a record that is not flattering over the 2138m trip. Closing hard to be just a half-head from the winner last start, he is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: HIGH ON MONTANA (12), CALVERT HOT SHOT (8), ALTANA BLUE (10), IMA BIRUBI BOY (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Returning from an extended campaign in the NSW Riverina, BLISSFULDAY (2) arrives back in Qld a last start Leeton winner when leading throughout from gate 2 after rolling along in front. Runner-up over the Menangle mile three starts back, he can press on early in what look suitable conditions.

LANOCH BOY (1) found the front from gate 2 at Marburg two starts back and once in control kept a solid tempo in claiming a 4m margin with a strong last 800m split. Just 4.3m from the winner ROCKSLIDE last time out, he is fresh for this and lands the options to challenge.

GLENLEDI COMMANDER (8) struck trouble last start but was attacking the line in style behind the flying CLASSIE WASHINGTON. Likely to be buried in the run, he will be searching for the gaps.

FIRE AND ICE (3) has been runner-up at his past two outings, the latest when using the passing lane when chasing home ISOLATION. A neck short of victory the start prior, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: BLISSFULDAY (2), LANOCH BOY (1), GLENLEDI COMMANDER (8), FIRE AND ICE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BLISSFULDAY (2) to win
