RACE ONE

After four attempts to open his account, CRADOCK (2) look to have found the right conditions to capitalise. Unable to find the front in the Breeders Classic last start, he was required to roll the sleeves and stuck on gamely behind MULLUM AXEL. This is his chance to deliver the headline.

SARASUN (6) will take some experience and benefit from her race debut when snagging back in the early stages but unable to make up the deficit as TORQUE LIKE MOTION scored her second successive victory. The gate doe her no favours but she can feature where a few have live chances.

HOLME BOY (4) is a Changeover colt on debut for Grant Dixon out of the mare Holme Call, who has had 5 foals to race and all 5 are winners. With a sound trial in readiness, he can be in the mix.

HOLLYWOODBOUND (8) take her first look at the big deck after two runs at Redcliffe where she was runner-up on debut. Not too far away second-up, she will be probing here.

SELECTIONS: CRADOCK (2), SARASUN (6), HOLME BOY (4), HOLLYWOODBOUND (8)
SUGGESTED BET: CRADOCK (2) to win

RACE TWO

Taking further benefit from his latest outing where he was third up from a break, MONTANA FLASH (5) has to negotiate a tricky alley, but the small field can help offset that issue. Catching the eye with some smart closing panels last start behind AUNTY BELLA, he can arrive.

MISSINMEMATE (1) faces a sharp gate improvement after being no closer than gate 5 at his past six attempts. Still producing two wins in that period, the latest of those two starts back when charging home from back in the pack for a smart win. Settling closer can see him throw down the challenge.

OYSTER STRIDE (4) should find this easier than recent outings including his last start when finishing with the silver from gate 1 after taking a passing lane shot. Limiting the early burn has him in the mix.

TRACER BULLET (2) grabbed 3rd in a Trot Rods event last start when 4m from the winner. Beaten by a wide second line gate here two starts back, he can dart straight down to the poles for an easy trip.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA FLASH (5), MISSINMEMATE (1), OYSTER STRIDE (4), TRACER BULLET (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA FLASH (5) to win

RACE THREE

BATMAN BART (2)
will go in search of a hat-trick of victories after wins on The Triangle and then here last start. Forced to grind it out when parked two starts back, he took them all the way over this trip last start, pulling clear for an impressive win. He gets every chance to land the threepeat.

REDUCED TO ASHES (1) has faced the starter on four occasions since resuming from a spell without a return. Also, yet to hit the board in four attempts here at headquarters, he comes up with the gate and opposition to get the right trip in behind the speed here to offer a closing challenge.

LUXURY LAD (7) faces no favours from the outside paint but should appreciate a return to this format after a tackling a Trot Rods scamper last time out. 3rd from this gate three starts back, he is in the mix.

FEEL THE SPIRIT (6) was a winner over the 2040m at Redcliffe two starts back when finding the pocket trail from gate 2 and finishing best for a narrow victory. The gate stings but she can feature.

SELECTIONS: BATMAN BART (2), REDUCED TO ASHES (1), LUXURY LAD (7), FEEL THE SPIRIT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BATMAN BART (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Rolling forward trying to land a prominent position in a Trot Rods 947m scamper last start, METAKI MAJIC (1) kept chasing to hold on for the silver behind MASTER CHARLES last time out. Placed in both starts prior when buried away three back from second line gates, the ace options appeal.

CRADLE OF FIRE (5) tackled a Trot Rods first up in Qld where he used the passing lane to be 3m in arrears of the winner. An error at his next start was followed with an all the way effort again at the 947m when pulling clear to a big win. The gate hurts but he can throw it down in this.

TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (7) has now had three runs back from a spell, the latest when tackling the Breeders Classic when slammed with gate 12. Taking inside runs, it was a tidy effort, and he has claims.

CALL ME TRISH (3) started from the second line over the Redcliffe sprint trip two starts back and finished nicely for the bronze and then was only collared in the last strides here on Thursday. She is in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: METAKI MAJIC (1), CRADLE OF FIRE (5), TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (7), CALL ME TRISH (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

With two placings in his three attempts here at The Creek, A GOOD IDEAL (9) looks to have found the right conditions to open the win ledger. Too gritty over the Redcliffe 1780m when sent to sit parked form the second line two runs back, he was strong to the line here last start and this is well within reach.

THE CROM (5) has limited exposure here on the big deck, with his three appearances returning a 3rd placing. That was last start when attacking the line in smart fashion over the closing stages to be just 4m from the winner after settling well back. Landing a position cheaply, he can be closing hard again.

BLACKJEWEL (8) features in a stable switch to join the Graham Dwyer barn. Finding the line in nice order two starts back from deep in the pack, she will be probing for the openings.

FEEL THE THRILL (6) was making strong meters in the stretch here on Thursday when angled wide around the home turn to charge home when under 3m from the winner. He can chime in.

SELECTIONS: A GOOD IDEAL (9), THE CROM (5), BLACKJEWEL (8), FEEL THE THRILL (6)
SUGGESTED BET: A GOOD IDEAL (9) to win

RACE SIX

ROCKNHOLME (2)
does not have the greatest figures here at headquarters with a solitary placing in eight attempts. A deeper dive shows that the two times he has drawn closer than gate 5 in those runs, he met tough opponents in each. Both runs since a win three starts back have been good and he can look to capitalise.

FLO RYDA (7) had placed in three of his previous four starts heading into Wednesday night’s Trot Rods finale and franked the efforts when landing the closing shot up the passing lane. Just a half-head away two starts back, the faces a tough ask from this gate but is up to the task.

MIGHTY GEORGE (8) lands the second line options here and with the right trip can be making a closing play. Hitting the line smartly to score at Redcliffe two starts back, he can be chiming in.

THERESACHANCE (4) charged down the back stretch here two starts back and nearly pinched it when just running out of steam near the line. Runner-up last time behind BAKER CREEK, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNHOLME (2), FLO RYDA (7), MIGHTY GEORGE (8), THERESACHANCE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNHOLME (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Needing some factors in her favour from this alley, if CHARM OFFENSIVE (8) can get to the lane with momentum, she gets the chance to make the closing shot a winner. Buried from this same gate last start when grabbing 3rd behind B MAC C, she will be searching for the openings.

FLYING ART (7) faces the tough ask from the outside paint, but he has been in nice touch against stronger opponents in recent appearances. Forced to do it the tough way last start as SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE cashed in, two back he was 3rd to MANILA PLAYBOY. Despite the gate he looms large.

MISTER HART (10) had the best closing speed to claim a Trot Rods 947m scamper two starts back and followed that with a down the line effort when unable to get warm in the closing stages. The tempo will help here.

THE HERVEY BAY (6) was wide off the track for a long way last time out and the effort took a toll as he faded over the closing stages. Likely to be working again, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: CHARM OFFENSIVE (8), FLYING ART (7), MISTER HART (10), THE HERVEY BAY (6)
SUGGESTED BET:
