Racing Queensland confirms that the Gold Coast Turf Club race meeting on Wednesday, May 11, has been transferred to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club Polytrack.

The decision to transfer the meeting was made after it was determined that there is no likelihood that the racing surface at Aquis Park will recover sufficiently in time for tomorrow’s race meeting to proceed.

The transfer of the meeting has resulted in changes to race distances and starting limits for some of the races on the program. They are:

  • Race 4 – was 1800m, is now 2000m;
  • Race 5 – was 900m, is now 1000m. Starting limit is now 12;
  • Race 6 – was 2200m, is now 2150m. Starting limit is now 14;
  • Race 7 – No change to distance, however starting limit is now 12; and
  • Race 8 – was 1200m, is now 1100m. Starting limit is now 14.

Trainers should note that in conjunction with RQ protocol (and wagering service operator requirements), any scratchings made prior to the race meeting being transferred are unable to be reinstated.

There will also be no fees applicable for scratchings made at the meeting, irrespective of the time when they were transacted.

Racing Queensland will distribute amended race fields as soon as possible.
