RACE TWO

GODDESS JUJON (9) has been in great form since returning from a spell and last start was the 1st time she has missed the board in 5 starts for the season. Shooting for the hat-trick last start, she was beaten by gate 7 when only 5m in arrears. Her win was sharp 2 starts back and she can bounce back.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (8) was rewarded here last start after a pair of smart runs since returning from a spell. Settling in the running line from the six-hole, she packed too many guns in the stretch to claim the prize. Gunned down in the closing strides the start prior, she will be probing for an opening.

PHOTOZEN (1) started from this gate last start over this trip and settling in the pocket trail used the passing lane to get within 3m of the winner. With a similar spot again, he will be looking to offer.

WHERES THE SPIRIT (2) was locked away on the poles here 2 starts back when using the passing lane to grab the bronze behind IM NO OUTLAW. With good early speed, he might try to pinch it in front.

SELECTIONS: GODDESS JUJON (9), SAINT KILDA BEACH (8), PHOTOZEN (1), WHERES THE SPIRIT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: GODDESS JUJON (9) to win

RACE THREE

Close to a capacity field will tackle this race and if ASTRAL RULER (5) can bring his manners, which he was able to last start, he might be able to bounce back to winning form. Finding the front last start, he set it up to sprint home when grabbed on the wire by SPIRIT WALKER. Back to the 2138m suits.

SPIRIT WALKER (10) returned from a spell in fine fettle over the 2647m here last week. Rolling forward to find the 1x1 trail from her 10m tape, she then had all the answers in the run and her penchant for the longer trip shone through to score. Fitter again, she can throw down a challenge.

FOURSHARESMOREBEERS (12) has the 30m to overcome here but should appreciate this assignment after meeting the tougher Sat night performers. Only 4m in arrears 2 starts back, he has claims.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (13) made an early error last start that ended his hopes and the start prior he was beaten by his handicap when starting off 50m. Bringing his best he would be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: ASTRAL RULER (5), SPIRIT WALKER (10), FOURSHARESMOREBEERS (12), MAYBETOTHEMAX (13)
SUGGESTED BET: ASTRAL RULER (5) to win

RACE FOUR

SPECIAL RESERVE (10)
has the 2nd line to negotiate, yet she has been meeting some slightly tougher line-ups than what she will meet here. Buried in the run 2 starts back from inside the 2nd line, she closed out well to grab the bronze. Getting within a head on Friday, this looks within reach.

IFYOUBELIEVE (1) found the 1x1 trail from gate 5 here last time out when sent to the post as fav. Grabbing the bronze when within 5m of the winner BEEF CITY STARZZZ, he was beaten by a wide gate the start prior. With good early speed, he has the peg-line benefits and can go close.

BETTOR WATCH HIM (4) started race fav from the 2nd line last start and after settling in the running line couldn’t go on with it. Fitter again as he was only 2nd up in that, he stays under notice in this.

JOICE MARY (9) was having just her 2nd career start when resuming at Redcliffe on Thurs in a much stronger contest. Only 8m away in holding the silver, she can be chiming in late against these.

SELECTIONS: SPECIAL RESERVE (10), IFYOUBELIEVE (1), BETTOR WATCH HIM (4), JOICE MARY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SPECIAL RESERVE (10) to win

RACE FIVE

SEA HAWKE (9) was forced to work hard in the run 2 starts back when cutting the breeze and fading late under the load. Resuming when locked away here 3 starts back, he chased hard for the silver behind THE CRUISE MISSILE. Luckless on Friday night, he looks to get his chance this time around.

SUNNY RICE (6) is a 4YO Safari mare in debut for Alan Donohoe out of the un-raced mare Lady Rice. This is a tricky gate and contest to tackle 1st up, but her trials to prepare for her maiden racetrack appearance have been good and if she can find position cheaply, she can be thereabouts.

BEEF CITY STARZZZ (5) settled in the running line from gate 6 over the mile 2 starts back and when angled into open space was packing too much heat in the closing stages. He has claims in this.

NIKALONG HENRY (2) was sent to the breeze from the 2nd line last start and under the workload faded in the latter stages. 3rd to THE CRUISE MISSILE 2 starts back, he can be sharper from this gate.

SELECTIONS: SEA HAWKE (9), SUNNY RICE (6), BEEF CITY STARZZZ (5), NIKALONG HENRY (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (12) will strip fitter from his latest offering when returning from an ease-up. Completing a hat-trick of victories with a career PB rate over the mile 2 starts back, he returned with a 3rd. That effort was strong, finding the breeze from the 2nd line and fighting hard when 5m from SECRETAGENT TYCOON. Despite the gate he looks to strong.

LIVE ATOM (5) made the most of gate 1 last time out and taking control was able to rip home a strong closing 800m, running a pair of sub 28 panels. Only 6m and best of the rest behind the mighty smart SPEECH IS SILVER 2 starts back, he can look to use his early pace and has claims.

MUCH BETTOR (11) will be tightened from his return to start his 4YO term when back in the field behind a dominant SECRETAGENT TYCOON. With a cart into the contest, he can be in the mix late.

IM NO OUTLAW (3) secured the perfect trip in the pocket trail here 2 starts back and when the gap arrived, darted through to score. Doing plenty of work last start from gate 6, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (12), LIVE ATOM (5), MUCH BETTOR (11), IM NO OUTLAW (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (12) to win

RACE SEVEN

With a capacity field at the mile, this race shapes as a tricky contest where JUMPING JOLT (4) can be versatile enough to sneak away with the money Capitalising on gate 1 at Redcliffe last start, he took them all the way with a tidy last 800m. With that slick closing, he can be close enough to arrive here.

MAYWYNS BEST (3) has been slowly working his way back to full fitness and lands his best gate for some time, with 4 of his past 5 coming from the 2nd row. Only 2m in arrears when using the passing lane 2 starts back, he has been winless for a while now, but has the early speed to get into the fight.

BEE GEES BANDIT (7) worked his way to the front here 3 starts back over the 2138m when fighting to the wire and only grabbed in the closing strides. Too tough at Redcliffe last start, the gate hurts.

SIR JULIAN (11) did it the tough way last start when sitting outside JUMPING JOLT and never shirking the task, held on for the silver. Not far away the start prior, he can be looking for gaps late.

SELECTIONS: JUMPING JOLT (4), MAYWYNS BEST (3), BEE GEES BANDIT (7), SIR JULIAN (11)
SUGGESTED BET: JUMPING JOLT (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

SECRETAGENT TYCOON (3) is low-flying and despite stepping up again here, lands the gate to take full advantage to continue his renaissance. Completing a hat-trick of victories last start, the wins have come from gates 10, 7 and 6, mixing closing power and mid race strength. This is at his mercy.

DREAM TO SHARE (10) was narrowly beaten as the fav 2 starts back from gate 9 when his last 150m was particularly strong, attacking the line hard. Capitalising on that run last start when swooping over the top to score, with the right trip he can be looking at making a closing play in this.

RED CHARMER (5) will take good benefit from her latest start when 2nd up from a spell and probing for an opening that didn’t arrive when 3rd to DREAM TO SHARE. Settling handy she has podium claims.

OUR MAJOR DAY (9) returns from a break after going for a break following a mid-field finish to CHANTREY last time out. The gate makes it tough but with a cart home he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: SECRETAGENT TYCOON (3), DREAM TO SHARE (10), RED CHARMER (5), OUR MAJOR DAY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 3 / 5-9-10 / 5-8-9-10
