Having done so, Jockey Evans elected not to lodge a protest and stewards declared correct weight on the judge's numbers.

Public announcements were made to that effect, and the horse was ridden accordingly. Reared prior to the start, was removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. A warning will be placed on the horse's barrier manners.

RED RYDER - Was slow to begin.

BOLTS'N'HOLTS - Began awkwardly and lost some ground. Contact with another runner near 200 metres.

Stewards took into account that SAGACIOUS LADY had shifted out marginally at that stage.

App. Summers eased her mount to relieve the pressure, however STAKED EMOTION, which was racing to the inside of NOT TOO FUSSY, was tightened for room, clipped heels and blundered. Though the interference was of some significance, it could not be attributed to any one rider. Nevertheless, Jockey Coome and App. Summers were advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
