LATE RIDING CHANGES:
When App. B. Appo was not riding at today’s meeting, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
The reasons for the late declaration of riders for Jockey A. Butler in Race 3, Jockey J. P. Stanley in Race 5 and Jockey A. Butler in Race 6 were accepted.
Race 1: Mark Bunt Menswear QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st BROQUALO 2nd - WHISKEY LAD 3rd DUDOOMP 4th - EVA FEROCIA
BABES COPYRIGHT - On jumping shifted in and lost some ground.
DAZZA'S REWARD - Jumped out onto AINT SHE WONDERFUL. From the 800 metres to the 600 metres hung out, and near the 700 metres bumped MISHANI ISTANA.
WHISKEY LAD - Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Jockey S. Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that near the 900 metres he allowed WHISKEY LAD to shift in when not sufficiently clear of CRAIGLEA ALDI, which was checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Sheargold was suspended from riding in races for a period of 12 days, to commence at midnight on 17th October 2015 up to and including 29th October 2015.
SHOO FLY SHOO - Shifted out on jumping and bumped BROQUALO. Jockey J. P. Stanley reported that his mount raced very greenly throughout.
BROQUALO - Bumped at the start.
Race 2: Grant & Simpson Class 3 Plate - 1831 metres
1st OZEIN 2nd TIP RAT 3rd MOSSIMO 4th - PREEN QUEEN
MOSSIMO - Was a little slow to begin and then was hampered when MANZANITA jumped outwards. Made contact with another runner near the 200 metres.
PREEN QUEEN - Made contact with another runner near the 200 metres.
MURPHY'S COAL DUST - Pulled hard in the early stages.
TIP RAT - Rider lost his whip approaching the 100 metres.
Race 3: XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap - 1400 metres
1st MISTY MONTANA 2nd TICATIME 3rd BREATH OF TERA 4th - MAGIC FISH
As Apprentice N. Vuille was unable to claim her full allowance, App. R. Payne was substituted as the rider of RED HOT NOODLES. App. Vuille was fined $200 under A.R. 92(12) and advised that, given her poor record in relation to breaches of this rule, a suspension may be imposed for further breaches.
FRANLYLE - Began awkwardly. Was unable to obtain clear running between the 300 metres and the 200 metres.
GENERAL BEERS - Jumped out onto ROCKY RIPPER, which lost some ground.
METALLIC POINT - Raced wide without cover.
ROCKY RIPPER - When questioned Jockey P. Romeo was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Pointon’s representative was advised that, in view of its recent form, the gelding will now be barred to non-TAB meetings until it establishes form.
Race 4: Bleney Electrical Class 6 Plate - 1050 metres
1st STRAIGHT GOLD 2nd ZINDZELA 3rd CUMANI 4th - OUTBACK LIGHTNING
TAN TAT ALPHA - Jumped in at the start and brushed OUTBACK LIGHTNING.
OUTBACK LIGHTNING - Brushed at the start.
Race 5: The Morning Bulletin Class 3 Plate - 1200 metres
1st WILDEBEAST 2nd DUBYAGO 3rd EVENTIDE 4th - HILLCREST
ELLE THE MODEL - Slow into stride.
EXSTRATUM - Made heavy contact with another runner on jumping and lost ground.
ANGELS CROWN - Made heavy contact on jumping. Raced wide without cover.
EVENTIDE - Was slow into stride. Raced wide without cover.
HILLCREST - Near the 1000 metres became unbalanced and awkward in its stride.
Race 6: Get Your Pink On for Breast Cancer Awareness Class 1 Handicap - 1400 metres
1st - REAL ROCKER 2nd - SAINTLY PRO 3rd - TARA’S RANSOM 4th - KERNEL
OUTBACK WRANGLER - Raced wide without cover. Near 1100m, had to alter course.
MONTANA HERO - Near the 1100 metres shifted outwards, taking TARA'S RANSOM out. OUTBACK WRANGLER, which was following, had to alter course.
GUNDY STORM- Trainer reported that the gelding had been galloped on its near hind.
Race 7: See You At St. Peter’s Caulfield Cup Races- Sat 17 Oct Class 4 Handicap - 1400 metres
1st - INKJET SPRINTER 2nd - SANOSUKE 3rd - MANNA GUM 4th - STATING
NOT SO SOBER - Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start and on jumping became awkward in its stride. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities.
BIG BABA LOOEY - Shortly after the start laid in onto the heels of another runner.
RE ECHO - Made contact with another runner at the start. Raced wide without cover throughout and in the straight was inclined to lay in.
ZARADA ANGEL - Contacted by another runner at the start.
SANOSUKE- On 2 occasions leaving the 900 metres improved onto the heels of EIGHT SKIRTS.
