ROCKHAMPTON: Saturday, 12th December 2012

Race 4: Wendy Mulry Travel Class 3 Plate - 1100 metres

Trainer Ms K. Shaw pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 117(3) in that she removed THEFORCEBEWITHYOU from the course immediately following the race. Ms Shaw was fined $500. An aggravating factor for this penalty was that on return to the enclosure it was observed that the gelding had suffered an attack of bleeding.

Race 1: XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st THE EUNUCH 2nd LIGHTNING ARTIST 3rd SHIGZAG 4th - FOREST MAGIC

BENTOTA - At the start jumped in onto another runner, became awkward and lost some ground.

AFRICAN BEATS - Bumped at the start. Near the 1000 metres began to buck and caused its rider to be dislodged near the 800 metres. Jockey Evans was examined by the Ambulance Officers and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. Trainer A. Stephens was advised that the gelding must perform satisfactorily in a trial over at least 800 metres with a raceday saddle.

LEMON PEPPER - Slow to begin.

CLEVER STRYK - Jumped out at the start.

FOREST MAGIC - Rider reported that his mount was inclined to hang out from near the 400 metres.

Race 2: Hahn 3.5 Happy Festive Season Sprint Open Handicap - 1300 metres
1st LANSDOWNE ROAD 2nd BASHAN 3rd IMBOSTERIA 4th - MYTHOLOGIST

BASHAN - Began awkwardly.

LANSDOWNE ROAD - Bounded in the air at the start.

IMBOSTERIA - Slow to begin. Jockey N. Day was reprimanded under A.R. 137A for using his whip on the gelding on 2 occasions more than is permissible under the rule.

HATZIS - Slow to begin.

Race 3: CJ Homes BM 65 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st GLORY CITY 2nd EYE WINSOME 3rd ABSOLUTELYANYTHING 4th - MAMSELLE CORDAY

EYE WINSOME - Rider questioned in relation to leading, stated his instructions were to take forward to mid position, however the gelding did not relax in early stages. Jockey M. Hellyer stated in the early stages, commenced to over-race when attempting to obtain a position outside GLORY CITY and he was reluctant to restrain his mount as the horse travelled keenly.

GLORY CITY - Jockey J. P. Stanley was reprimanded for using his whip on the gelding on 2 occasions more than is permitted under the rule.

MANILA ACADEMY - Jockey S. Fawke was reprimanded for using his whip on the gelding on 7 occasions, 2 more than is permitted under the rule.

Race 4: Toohey’s New QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SUPREME JET 2nd SHROUDED 3rd NINETTE KAN 4th - CHARSON'S GIFT

ATLANTIS CITY - After being placed in the barriers became fractious and reared. The filly was removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. A warning will be placed on the filly's barrier manners.

DUAN OSCAR - Became fractious in the barriers, reared and broke the barrier gate open. The gelding was removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Trainer K. Shaw was advised that a warning will be placed on the horse's barrier manners.

SUPREME JET - Near the 900 metres shifted in, which resulted in HOWZAT FOR LUCK, being steadied, at which time it over-reacted and shifted out across heels. Jockey Butler was advised to exercise more care. Jockey Butler was fined $200 under A.R. 137A for using his whip on gelding 3 times more than is permitted under the rule.

HOWZAT FOR LUCK- Slow to begin and brushed with SHROUDED. When questioned regarding his riding and the performance of the filly, Jockey D. Evans stated that he was not overly disappointed with the horse's performance. He said that his intention was to go forward and lead, however after being slow to begin and hampered near the 900 metres the horse was not comfortable racing back in the field and had a tendency to lay out from near the 300 metres.

LEGAL PROCEDURE - When asked about the performance of the gelding, Jockey M. Hellyer stated that he was satisfied with the performance. He added that the horse began well, however due to the quick pace of the race, the gelding did not travel well and in his opinion will be better suited in races over a longer distance.

Race 5: Kenna’s Chartered Accountants Class 2 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st RECTIFIER 2nd OUR SINGLE DOUBT 3rd WAR NOISE 4th - CHEERING

OUR SINGLE DOUBT - Slow to begin.

ESPRIT LIGHT - Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event.

DUREEZA - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 6: Racing @ Callaghan Park Saturday 2 January 2016 Class 1 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st - METEOR'S MAN 2nd - MISTY MONTANA 3rd - BOOMTOWN BOY 4th - STIRLING GIRL

FONDUE - Slow to begin. Jockey J. Missen reported that his mount failed to travel in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormalities. Jockey J Missen was reprimanded under A.R. 137A for using the whip on the mare 3 times more than is permitted under the rule.

METEOR'S MAN - Shifted ground under pressure over the concluding stages.

VINTAGE COGNAC - Raced wide without cover.

COURTZIG - Raced wide without cover throughout.

GODAVARI - Raced wide with cover throughout.

BOOMTOWN BOY - Near the 900 metres lay in marginally and was eased from the heels of another runner.

LUNAR COMMAND- Near the 900 metres, eased from the heels of another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare was lame in the off fore tendon. Trainer B. Trimble informed stewards that he will now spell the mare. Nevertheless, he was told that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

Race 7: Merry Christmas From Everyone at the RJC Class 4 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st - GREEN EMPIRE 2nd - COVENTRY 3rd - FINAL CHAPTER 4th - TOP ROYAL

HIDDEN NATURE - Began awkwardly.

ELLE THE MODEL - Slow to begin.

SON OF A WARRIOR - Raced wide without cover throughout.

MASSIVE ATTACK - Raced wide with cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was displaying a slow recovery rate.

MAGIC DECISION - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was showing a slow recovery rate. Trainer R. Vale advised that he may have an endoscopic examination conducted on the gelding.
