SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Rockhampton Jockey Club 23rd June, 2016

Following its disappointing performance, Trainer H Norman reported that serum amyloid testing of LUCKY TOM had revealed an issue for which the horse would be treated before being re-scoped. A veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to its next race start.

Emerald Jockey Club 9th July 2016: Race 4:

Trainer Mr W. Baker was fined $300 for failing to scratch DIVA MISS by the prescribed time. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful that this may have cost an emergency a start.

LATE RIDING CHANGES

As Jockey D. Evans had failed to obtain a stay of proceedings from the Queensland Civil Administrative Tribunal in relation to a suspension, he was initially replaced in Races 2 and 4. As no further communication was forthcoming, he was replaced for the remainder of his engagements as per the Steward’s Summary.

Race 1: Rockhampton City Moto Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st BAGGER MUSCLES 2nd SAURABH 3rd DYNAMIC EMBRACE 4th - FLEURETTA BROWN

SAURABH - Began awkwardly and bounded in the air.

DYNAMIC EMBRACE - Jumped inwards onto I'M AMBRYM. Laid in from near the 400 metres.

THAT PRETTY GIRL - Apprentice N. Vuille reported that she had concerns as to the action of the mare in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

FLEURETTA BROWN - Bled during running. As this was the first time the mare had bled, it will be barred from racing for 3 months under A.R. 53A, and then only after a satisfactory gallop ov at least 1000 metres in the presence of a steward. Apprentice Z. White was reprimanded for using the whip on her mount 2 more times than permitted under the rule.

SCATTERED SHOWERS - Raced wide without cover.

I'M AMBRYM - Bumped at the start. Raced wide with cover throughout.

Race 2: Wade Hunt It QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st ROOI ROE 2nd RUSTY SCOOTER 3rd GAI OF THE GALAXY 4th - QUICK AND EASY

MISHANI SILVA - Slow to begin.

RUSTY SCOOTER - Began awkwardly and shifted out.

FLAT TO STACK - Began awkwardly.

STAR FROM HEAVEN - Slow to begin.

MAGIC EIGHT BALL - Slow into stride.

CRAIGLEA ZING - Raced wide without cover throughout.

UNO KATY - Near the 500 metres shifted out and made contact with HI SUGAR (Jockey D. Simmons), which was taken out onto FLAT TO STACK and then onto STAR FROM HEAVEN. Apprentice Vuille was advised to exercise more care.

Apprentice L. Tilley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of LINE AND LENGTH (Apprentice B. Grylls), which resulted in her mount shifting out further onto CRAIGLEA ZING, which was tightened for room and checked, then taken out on GAI OF THE GALAXY (Jockey N. Day), whch became unbalanced on the heels of another runner and had to be steadied. Apprentice Tilley was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days to commence at midnight on 23rd July 2016, up to and including 3rd August 2016.

Race 3: City Printing Works QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
1st CRAIGLEA MERCEDES 2nd SNIP 'N' DRIFT 3rd REMI ROCKS 4th - KURAMOS

ROWDY RONDA - Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer J. Pointon for the late declaration of Jockey D. Simmons as rider of the filly.

SNIP 'N' DRIFT - Began awkwardly.

MENTOBE - Shifted out abruptly, taking KURAMOS out onto DIPPED IN GOLD (Jockey C. McIver), which was hampered and made contact with CRAIGLEA EPSOM (Jockey S.Fawke). Laid out in the home straight and proved difficult to ride.

I TRUST LAYLA - A post-race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormalities.

CRAIGLEA EPSOM and ROWDY RONDA - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 4: Hartecs Group QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st TAKINGS 2nd REDMIA 3rd CAPELLA GIRL 4th - ROMANOV

TAKINGS and ROMANOV - Made contact at the start.

BAR STORIES -Began awkwardly. Raced wide with cover.

PALE FACE ROCKET - On returning to scale Apprentice C. Jokic reported that her mount was inclined to lay in in the straight and proved difficult to ride out. Raced wide without cover throughout.

CAPELLA GIRL - From the 400 metres until the 200 metres was held up and unable to obtain clear running.

Race 5: XXXX Class 3 Plate - 1600 metres
1st CUPSTER 2nd COOL DAYS 3rd WINSOMEMORE4th - WHO'S NEXT

CUPSTER and TIP RAT - Made contact with another runner on jumping.

SUNBURY - Jockey A. Coome reported that his mount hung in badly from the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examinatin revealed that the gelding was gelding was showing a slow recovery rate, otherwise no abnormality.

Race 6: Heineken @ Callaghan Park Class 6 Plate - 1300 metres
1st - HALFBLOOD PRINCE 2nd - RECTIFIER 3rd - EKKLESTONE 4th - EYE WINSOME

PRETTY COOL KAT - Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.

CWMBRAN - Raced wide with cover.

RECTIFIER - In the early stages was restrained from heels and commenced to over-race. Jockey C. Whiteley advised that he had to restrain his mount and take up a position towards the rear of the field, rather than race 3 wide.

MISHANI CENTURION - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 7: Hahn 3.5 Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SHROUDED 2nd BEST HURRAH 3rd WHYMEGOD 4th - GOODNESS GRACIOUS

WHYMEGOD - Apprentice N. Vuille was fined $100 under A.R. 92(12) when she was unable to claim to her full allowance. Apprentice Q. Krogh was substituted. At the start shifted out onto PERIPHERAL (Apprentice N. Summers), which was taken out onto DUFOUR (Apprentice S. Fawke), which was inconvenienced. Raced wide without cover throughout.

WEREMEMBEMRZENNETH - Raced wide with cover.

BEST HURRAH - Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight until near the 300 metres.

WHITEHOUSE AFFAIR - Near the 900 metres was inclined to hang out, raced ungenerously and lost ground. For a short distance near the 300 metres laid in when placed in restricted room between GOODNESS GRACIOUS (Apprentice B. Grylls). Trainer T. Bannon was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

JAZZMAN - Began awkwardly.

DUFOUR - Inconvenienced at the start. Raced wide with cover throughout.

Race 8: Callaghan Park Functions and Events Centre BM 55 Handicap - 1400 metres
1st - BILO BAR 2nd - TREMONT 3rd - KODO 4th - QUICK ASSAULT

DOUBOS - Slow to begin.

WORTHY HERO - Inconvenienced at the start. Raced wide with cover throughout. Stewards acknowledged that Jockey McIver had attempted to relieve the pressure on runners to the inside; nevertheless he was advised to make a greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground in similar circumstances. Jockey McIver was reprimanded. A post-race veterinary examination of WORTHY HERO did not reveal any abnormalities.

TREMONT - When the pace steadied near the 900 metres had to be eased from the heels of BILO BAR (Apprentice C. Jokic).

GOLD RUST- Near the 900 metres, steadied from heels of TREMONT.

Jockey A. Butler pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R. 137(b) in that he failed to ride KODO out to the finish of the race. In the opinion of the stewards this cost his mount 2nd placing. Jockey Butler was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on 23rd July 2016, up to and including 6th August 2016 (14 days).
