Race 1: Centre State Signs Class 1 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st -  ROMANOV  2nd  -   REDMIA  3rd  -   MUNJIZ  4th  -  GOLD CLAIM 
 
Public announcements were made advising patrons that ROMANOV was backing up from the Mackay meeting on Saturday where it finished 3rd of 8 starters in a 3 and 4-Year-old BM 70 Handicap over 1800 metres, beaten 3/4 of a length.
 
ROMANOV - Slow to begin.
 
THE GIRLS IN PARIS - Jumped awkwardly inwards.
 
GOLD CLAIM - Raced keenly near the 1200 metres and had to be eased. Near the 200 metres improved to the inside of MUNJIZ and caused BENJI which was tiring to be eased.
 
Race 2: Olive Catering @ Callaghan Park Maiden Plate - 1100 metres  
1st  -  QUIET REFLECTION  2nd  -   FLYING FERO  3rd  -  CHIEF ADVOCATE  4th  -  RENEGADE RUBY 
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed whilst stewards viewed patrol film of the start of CROSS QUESTION (Jockey Dale Evans). Having done so they were satisfied that there were no issues and correct weight was declared.

LIGHTNING ARTIST - Slow to begin.
 
BELMONT TURF BELLE - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
Stewards opened an inquiry into the riding and performance of CROSS QUESTION (Jockey Dale Evans). After taking initial evidence from the rider, and trainer L. Applewaite, and viewing the patrol films, stewards adjourned the matter to a date and time to be fixed. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
Race 3: Southside Holiday Village QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres  
1st  -  I'M A RIPPER   2nd  -  GIDGEE COALS  3rd  -  OUR INVESTMENT  4th  -  SIR TRUSTICE
 
CRAIGLEA PUMA - When Jockey A. Coome was to be overweight, Jockey D. Simmons was substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey Coome was reprimanded under A.R. 120(b). In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Coome's good record in relation to the rule.
 
OUR INVESTMENT - Slow to begin.
 
GIDGEE COALS - Struck the enclosure gate with its off hind hip. The gelding was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BAYSIDE BANDIT - Bumped with another runner at the 300 metres. Raced wide without cover throughout. Heavily bumped with another runner near the 150 metres.
 
SIR TRUSTICE - Near the 900 metres improved to the outside of the heels of HE'S TERRYFIED, laid in and had to be steadied.
 
HE'S TERRYFIED - Bumped at the 300 metres.
 
OUR BLAZERBOY - Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer A. Jenkinson will be advised that the gelding must trial competitively prior to its next race start.

Race 4: Ray White Rockhampton City Class 3 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st  -   FRENCH HUSSLER  2nd  -   METEOR'S MAN  3rd  -  CLOSE THE BEACHES  4th  -  DUAN MAJOR
 
CLATEAU - Trainer R. Vale was fined $100 for failing to declare Jockey A. Coome as rider of the gelding by the prescribed time.
 
MISS NIMBLE - When the blinkers were ill fitting at the barriers they were removed and the horse raced without that gear. Public announcements were made to that effect.
 
DUAN MAJOR - Began awkwardly. Near the 600 metres, raced in restricted room to the inside of IMPERIAL ATTITUDE, which laid in. DUAN MAJOR was held up for a short distance approaching the 400 metres.
 
CLOSE THE BEACHES- Began awkwardly.
 
IMPERIAL ATTITUDE - Raced ungenerously shortly after the start.
Race 5: St Peter’s Caulfield Cup - This Saturday! BenchMark 70 Handicap - 1400 metres   
1st  -  OUR NEDDY BOY  2nd  -   MACHO TYCOON  3rd  -  HEARTBREAK HARRY  4th  -  STYLISH LUCK
 
CLEANSING ALE - Slow to begin.
 
OUR NEDDY BOY- Jockey A. Coome reported that his mount was inclined to hang out and in the straight he was at a disadvantage riding his mount out. He suggested a gear adjustment for future starts.
 
MACHO TYCOON - Jockey N. Day reported that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout.
 
GODAVARI - Near the 1100 metres eased from the heels of OUR NEDDY BOY (Jockey S. Sheargold)
 
BLAZE TO FORTUNE - Was inclined to lay out near the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
ELLE THE MODEL - Jockey C. McIver was questioned regarding the mare leading in today's event. He stated that the horse began well and he applied some pressure and when racing in a 3 wide position, went forward to assume the lead. It was noted that leading had been detrimental to its performance.
 
Race 6: Stockland Rockhampton Fashions on the Field Ratings Band 0-55 Handicap - 1300 metres
1s  -  COURTZIG  2nd -  SCRAP COPPER  3rd -  LOGICAL OUTCOME  4th  -  BARON REES
 
CRAIGLEA DIXIE, OUTBACK PIRATE and CRAIGLEA ALTISE - slow to begin.
 
OUTBACK PIRATE - Laid out in the middle stages.
 
COURTZIG - Jockey S. Sheargold was cautioned with regard to excessive use of the whip inside the final 100 metres.
