Due to severe electrical thunderstorms all races were put back 3 races from the commencement of the meeting.  The track was inspected and passed fit to race.

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

UBET – DOWNLOAD THE APP MAIDEN 331M

Even start with the exception of DUSTY’S DESTINY which was marginally slow to begin.  In the back straight TOOTSWEET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MAYFEATHER which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

ZILLMERE SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN 331M

HOT PJYAMAS was best to begin.  MYONE ROSE was slow out.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight DESERT CHILD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  CANUTE’S LAW, BILLY BRASS and MYONE ROSE which were all racing to its outside were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight BILLY BRASS and CANUTE’S LAW collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  MYONE ROSE which was trailing was checked as a consequence and raced wide.  Entering the front straight ADHARA BAY and ARABIAN TU GO collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUNDMAIDEN 331M

Even start with the exception of WINGMAN HUTCH which was marginally slow to begin.   Shortly after the start TIARA GLOW was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight WINGMAN HUTCH and TOOTHLESS STEVE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  TIARA GLOW which was racing to the outside was checked as a consequence.  SMASHNIAK OPAL raced wide rounding the turn out of the back straight and again into the front straight.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MISS HIPSTA contacted the running rail and was checked as a consequence.

 

The greyhound MISS HIPSTA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GLEN GALLON @ STUD MAIDEN FINAL 331M

Even start with the exception of HAY YOU STAR which was slow to begin for which a warning was issued.  Entering the back straight SEA OF JOY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight GROUND SWELL shifted out and made muzzle contact with SEA OF JOY resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.

 

Stewards advised trainer M. D Fitzgerald that the greyhound GROUND SWELL would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 331m all tracks

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE 331M

Even start with the exception of SPEEDIE GAGAN which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start KOMPANY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight RASH ACTION was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FONIC THUNDER raced wide from the back straight to entering the front straight.

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY NOVICE 331M

Even start with the exception of LEGEND MATE and YEAH NAH YEAH which was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight RATTLESNAKE CAFÉ and FORGOTTEN ALOTA collided resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.

BRISGREYS.COM 5th GRADE 331M

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SIRRAH SIRRAH and TRAV’S GIFT collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ALYSSA’S DREAM and DARK DEFENDER collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.  Shortly after ALYSSA’S DREAM collided with NOAKI FLYER resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound ALYSSA’S DREAM underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of ALYSSA’S DREAM trainer Mr. J Northfield reported that the greyhound had been in his care for its previous 2 starts and had improved in its box manners and had commenced to begin better than previously.  He stated the ALYSSA’S DREAM whilst failed to maintain speed in the early stages and received some interference throughout the race contributed to its finishing position, he further stated that it would be his intention to race ALYSSA’S DREAM in the near future at Grafton until it can improve its racing manners.  Stewards noted his explanation.

 

The greyhound COL’S INTEREST underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

VET EXAMINATIONS:  ALYSSA’S DREAM

8.

SKY RACING 5th GRADE 331M

Even start with the exception of OLD MOON MADNESS which was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight SWEET PEARL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after WHERE’S TEJAY shifted out and collided with GOLD SHEEN resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  SPECTRAILLE raced wide around the turn into the front straight.  Entering the front straight SWEET PEARL checked across the heels of DUSTY ROCKS and was momentarily hampered.

SULZANTI @ STUD 3/4th GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of CEASER DE KAHN which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the first turn COOL VANE and SPRING BONANZA were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight NEEDY AND GREEDY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound CEASER DE KAHN underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind foot and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

MANLY HOTEL 4th GRADE 395M

Even start with the exception of ABBY’S MAGIC and WESTERN HONEY which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the first turn SPLIT IT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight CORY’S DIAMOND was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  WESTERN HONEY which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  ABBY’S MAGIC commenced to give ground in the back straight and finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  Leaving the back straight SPLIT IT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SPLIT IT underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ABBY’S MAGIC underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip support and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
