Stewards’ Trial 1

The greyhound, WILLY TOULA, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 520m, in a time of 31.15, and is cleared to race all tracks.

The greyhound, KULU EAGLE, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 520m, in a time of 31.18, and is cleared to race all tracks.

The greyhound, BERGAMO, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 520m, in a time of 30.63, and is cleared to race all tracks.

Stewards’ Trial 2

The greyhound, LONG JOHN SILVER, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 331m, in a time of 19.29, and is cleared to race all tracks.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

UBET – DOWNLOAD THE APP MAIDEN - 520M

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, FROSTY BLACK JAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground, shortly after collided with ATTILA, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  TAX COLLECTOR commenced to give ground approaching the turn into the back straight, and eventually retired from the race. FROSTY BLACK JAY and ATTILA were checked as a result of this incidence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound TAX COLLECTOR underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

THIRTY TALKS @ STUD NOVICE – 520M

Even start, with the exception of MOOSE MAN which was marginally slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight, DRAW THE WHIP was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MOOSE MAN which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, MOOSE MAN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound MOOSE MAN underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MIXED 4/5 - - 331M

Even start, with the exception of GALLEON which was marginally slow to begin.  Leaving the back straight, MADAM LOOPSY improved onto the heels of WIGGLE, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  In the front straight, during the later stages of the race, ELEGANT DUK and EBONY SANDS were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB 5TH GRADE (1) – 395M

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, TITLE shifted out, checked across the heels of THROTTLE ON, resulting in that greyhound to be checked and to lose ground.  Shortly after, TITLE became awkward, shifted out and collided with BEST STRATEGY, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground, with BEST STRATEGY to fall and took no further competitive part in the race.

 

The greyhound BEST STRATEGY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

TWITTER @ BRISGREYS MIXED 4/5 – 395M

Even start, with the exception of KAAN PAKMAK which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, HARA’S STORM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn, CAPRA ROSS, ROAD SCHOLAR and REGAL TRAV were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  CAPRA ROSS commenced to give ground in the back straight, to finish considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, ROAD SCHOLAR and RALLY DRYVA collided on a number of occasions, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

 

The greyhound CAPRA ROSS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side wrist and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

6.

GARRARD’S HORSE & HOUND 5TH GRADE – 600M

Even start, with the exception of SORRENTO and CHIPPIES which were both slow to begin.  CHIPPIES raced wide over the majority of the event.  FANTASIA LEE commenced to give ground rounding the turn into the front straight. 

 

When questioned over the performance of FANTASIA LEE, trainer Mr D Gladman, stated that in his view the greyhound failed to run out the 600m.  He stated that he nominated FANTASIA LEE for this race on its performance at Bundaberg on the 10th February 2018, where it ran second.  However after re-assessing the greyhound’s performance in tonight’s event, he will restrict the racing to the shorter distances. 

 

The greyhound FANTASIA LEE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

Even start, with the exception of ALPHA DAENERYS, NEWS STORY and FROSTY BEJAY, which were all marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, CORYKODI shifted out which hampered the running of FAB JESSIE.  Leaving the front straight, DANCING SOLO, ALPHA DAENERY’S, CORYKODI, NEWS STORY and FAB JESSIE all raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, DANCING SOLO, CORYKODI and FAB JESSIE collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

FB.COM/BRISGREYS 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

Even start, with the exception of JAYCEE’S LADY which was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, GOTCHA MONEY improved onto the heels of BONKNOCKA LASS and lost ground.  NOTORIOUS HERO, which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

9.

BRISGREYS.COM 5TH GRADE (2) – 395M

The start of Race 9 was delayed when the trainer of QUICK AND LIVELY, Mr D Jarick, fell in the process of boxing his greyhound.  The start was further delayed when JAZZ MINE proved difficult to box.  JAZZ MINE will be declared a hard-to-box greyhound in its near future racing.

 

Even start.  Through the 1st turn, all greyhounds, with the exception of GEORGIA CAN DO and QUICK AND LIVELY, were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground to varying degrees.  Leaving the back straight, MISS OSPREY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

UBET – THE NEW TAB 5TH GRADE – 331M

FANG TASIA and FANTASTIC RUFF were best to begin.  BRASS ROAD and INERACTION were both slow to begin.  Entering the back straight, STILL COUNTING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SABAI ODESSA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
