Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND MAIDEN – 520M

 

WHITE SWIRL, SILVER LUX and PHAROAH’S GOLD were all slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, BARRY BICEPS eased, turned its head in the direction of LYNNY’S HONEY and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, PHAROAH’S GOLD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight, BARRY BICEPS eased and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Leaving the back straight, BLUE FLYER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, WHITE SWIRL shifted out, made muzzle contact with BARRY BICEPS, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  LYNNY’S HONEY, which was racing to its outside, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound BARRY BICEPS underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound WHITE SWIRL was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound to be stood down at Albion Park for a period of 28 days and to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

Connection to the greyhound BARRY BICEP was advised that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69  (a) Failing to Pursue 1st Offence, with the greyhound to be stood down at Albion Park for a period of 28 days and to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

Race 2 – ASPLEY LEAGUES CLUB NOVICE – 520M

 

GALWAY PANTHER was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, ONE EL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 3 – EXPAT BOARDING KENNELS BEST 8 – 395M

 

Through the 1st turn, COMETRON FLYER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DAY TIME FRIEND, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the front straight, ZENYATTA MISS and REGAL WAZ bumped. 

 

Race 4 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MA5 – 395M

 

SPRING RUNNER was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, BATTY LOVES BEER, ON TIGHT LINES, SNOW GIRL and MAY ROAD were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, MAY ROAD and SPRING RUNNER collide. 

 

Race 5 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND 0-3 WINS – 600M

 

Round the turn out of the front straight, WHIPPY MIDGET was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, THUNDER OF FIRE and WHIPPY MIDGET raced tight, resulting in both greyhounds to lose ground. 

 

When questioned on the performance of FEMME FOLLE, trainer Mr N Evans expressed his disappointment with the greyhounds effort over the final stages of the race, where the greyhound  after leading in the race gave ground over the 100 metres.  He stated that his intention is not to race FEMME FOLLE over the 600m in its future race campaigns. 

 

The greyhound FEMME FOLLE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound WHIPPY MIDGET underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – THE MANLY HOTEL 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

 

WAZZA WHO was slow to begin.  Entering the front straight, SILVER STUNNER and SUPER CUP collide, resulting in SUPER CUP to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

Race 7 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

EXPONENTIAL was marginally slow to begin.  In the front straight shortly after the start, MAKO MAC was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, SKYLARK BROOKE, SHINE YOUR LIGHT, BLACKHEART BELLA and MAKO MAC were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. 

 

Race 8 – FABERGAS @ STUD MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 520M

 

Shortly after the start, ALLPA MAMA, GOT THERE, DAHOMEY WINDSONG were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, DAHOMEY WINDSONG and DREAM BLASTER collide.  Entering the back straight, COSMIC CAPERS began to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound COSMIC CAPERS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock strain and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

 

Race 9 – UBET TAPPY MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

 

Approaching the turn into the back straight, CIANNA’S ANGEL became awkward and lost ground.  GALWAY JOHANN, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, EL DOUBLE ONE shifted out, which checked the running of CIANNA’S ANGEL.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, GALWAY JOHANN improved onto the heels of EL DOUBLE ONE, resulting in that greyhound to be checked. 

 

Race 10 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 331M

 

LARRIKAN LASS and DIAMOND SAND were both marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight, MAGIC PLANK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.
