Race 1 - SKY RACING NOVICE (1) 520m

1 Hirstglen – tightened for room and checked when approaching the turn of the front straight.

 

2 Wicked Collision – tightened for room at the start, checked and lost ground. Shifted inwards approaching the turn out of the front straight and contacted the running rail. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn into the home straight. When questioned on the performance of Wicked Collision, particularly the shortening of the betting market, trainer S. Topping advised stewards that he expected a forward showing from Wicked Collision as it had been trialling well at Albion Park recently and had also raced competitively previously against some runners in this field. He further stated that he did support the greyhound with an each-way bet. Stewards noted his comments. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

3 Alby Valley – tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight, improved onto the heels of another runner, was checked and lost ground. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn into the home straight.

 

4 Slipknot

 

5 Te Kiewa Sunrise – blundered on jumping and lost considerable ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn into the back straight, bumped with another runner and lost ground.

 

6 Machine Green – shifted inwards across runners when approaching the turn out of the front straight, was galloped on the hindquarters by another runner, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

7 Misty Haze – bumped with another runner on jumping and lost ground.

 

8 Waikarie Cooper - bumped by another runner on jumping and lost ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn out of the front straight. Bumped by another runner when rounding the turn into the back straight and lost ground.

 

Race 2 – GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE (2) 520m

1 Kooringa Lucy

 

2 Morris The Great – improved onto the hindquarters of anther runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight and was checked.

 

3 Cracking Force – tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight, checked and lost ground. Contacted on the hindquarters by another runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight and was checked.

 

4 Fire Drill – marginally slow to begin.

 

5 Codrington Spark – bumped with another runner shortly after the start and was momentarily hampered. Contacted on the heels by another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight and was momentarily hampered.

 

6 Lombardy – checked off the heels of a forward placed greyhound when approaching the turn out of the front straight, was then galloped on the hindquarters by a trailing runner, severely checked and lost considerable ground. Checked off heels when rounding the turn into the back straight and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

7 Major Havoc – bumped with an outside runner at the start and lost ground. Improved onto the hindquarters of another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Raced wide for most of the event.

 

8 Profit Plan – bumped with an inside runner at the start and lost ground.

 

Race 3 – TAB 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 520m

2 Fireball Sam – bumped by another runner when rounding the turn into the home straight and lost ground.

 

3 Bee Solo – began awkwardly.

 

4 Dame Esmerelda – marginally slow to begin. Stewards questioned trainer D. Gladman in relation to the action of Dame Esmerelda when rounding the turn into the home straight, specifically when shifting out from the heels of Final Plea and bumping Fireball Sam. When considering all the evidence, the Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Dame Esmerelda had offended under any rule and gave it the benefit of doubt.

 

6 Zipping Cosmo – tightened between runners when approaching the turn out of the front straight, was severely checked, almost fell and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

8 Final Plea – slow to begin. Bumped with another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight and was momentarily hampered.

 

9/5 Brindle Daisy – contacted on the heels by another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight and was momentarily hampered.

 

 

Race 4 – TAB 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 520m

2 Opal Beach – tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight, lost ground and then bumped with other runners, subsequently losing further ground.

 

3 Colbar Boy – bumped shortly after the start and was momentarily hampered.

 

4 Kravitz – Stood at the rear of the box when the start was affected and was very slow to begin. Raced wide for most of the event.

 

5 Cha Cha Charlie – bumped shortly after the start and was momentarily hampered.

 

6 Emma Said – contacted on heels when rounding the turn out of the front straight, shifted outwards and lost ground.

 

9/8 Techno Hornet – slow to begin.

 

Race 5 – TAB 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 520m

1 Wazza Who – a post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to the nearside foreleg flexor tendon and was stood down for 10 days.

 

3 Twig Buzz – bumped with another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight, became unbalanced and shifted outwards, and lost ground.

 

5 Boscono – bumped with another runner when approaching the turn out of the front straight, became unbalanced and shifted outwards, and lost ground.

 

6 Stinger Noir – bumped heavily with another runner shortly after the start, became unbalanced and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the stifle in the nearside hindleg, was treated with meloxicam, and stood down for 10 days.

 

7 Royal Reward – declared a late scratching at 3:50pm when trainers representative J. Bowe reported to Stewards that Royal Reward was lame in the nearside wrist. The greyhound was stood down from racing for 10 days and J. Bowe was advised to furnish a veterinary certificate to stewards prior to permitting Royal Reward to start racing.

 

Race 6 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD BEST 8 520m

2 Regal Recall – checked outwards across heels when rounding the turn out of the front straight and lost considerable ground. Shifted inwards when rounding the turn into the back straight, bumped with another runner and lost ground.

 

6 Dynamite Lucy – contacted the heels of a forward runner, blundered and lost ground.

 

7 Blue Diva – bounded in the air when the lids opened and was subsequently very slow to begin.

 

Race 7 – EXPAT LODGE GRADE 5 600m

2 Elusive Star – tightened for room through the turn into the front straight on the first occasion, was severely checked then shifted outwards colliding heavily with another runner and lost considerable ground. Collided again with the same runner when entering the front straight on the first occasion, was severely checked and lost ground. Tightened for room when entering the turn out of the front straight, checked out across heels, became unbalanced and lost considerable ground.

 

3 Branwell Lee – marginally slow to begin. Bumped with another runner when entering the front straight on the first occasion and was momentarily hampered.

 

4 One El – began awkwardly. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.

 

5 Bago Bluff – marginally slow to begin. Collided heavily with a runner, which had shifted outwards, when rounding the turn into the front straight on the first occasion, was severely checked and lost considerable ground. Collided again with the same runner when entering the front straight on the first occasion, was severely checked and lost ground. Shifted inwards approaching the turn out of the front straight tightening another runner, which made contact with the hindquarters of Bago Bluff, which was checked and lost ground.

 

7 It's A Trick – tightened for room shortly after the start and was checked.

 

Race 8 – FAST TIMES @ SIRES ON ICE FFA 710m

1 Emulating Chloe – marginally slow to begin.

 

2 Kendall – fell awkwardly in the catching pen after the event. a post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

3 Stevick – marginally slow to begin. Checked off heels through the turn into the back straight. Tightened for room when rounding the turn out of the back straight on the second occasion, was checked and lost ground. Bumped by another runner through the turn into the home straight on the second occasion and was momentarily hampered.

 

4 Federal Elle – tightened for room when rounding the turn out of the back straight on the first occasion, became unbalanced and lost ground.

 

6 Uno Fabio – marginally slow to begin. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start and lost ground.

 

7 Infrared Lad – bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the back straight on the second occasion and was momentarily hampered. Bumped by another runner over the concluding stages.

 

8 Miss Gingin – marginally slow to begin. Bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.

 

Race 9 – ASSET BODY CORPORATE BRIBIE ISLAND GRADE 4 520m

2 Bobby The Jett – slow to begin.

 

4 Alpha Chaos – shifted inwards and away from another runner shortly after the start and lost ground. When questioned on the performance, and the significant increase in weight of 1.8kg, trainer J. Heddles advised that he had attempted to increase the greyhounds racing weight to be comparable to the beginning of its previous campaign. He further stated he was not happy with the drop in weight over the final few runs of its previous campaign and attributed that to the change into the hotter months of the season. Stewards noted his explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to the nearside hip and was stood down for 10 days.

 

Race 10 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY MA5 (1) 520m

1 Logan's Run – bumped with another runner shortly after the start.

 

2 Logan City – bumped with another runner shortly after the start.

 

8 Super Cesc - bumped with another runner in the front straight on the first occasion.

 

10/7 Lil Miss Pinky – began awkwardly. Bumped with another runner in the front straight on the first occasion.

 

Race 11 – FABREGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE MA5 (2) 520m

4 Billy Boy – tightened for room in the front straight on the first occasion, was checked and lost ground. Buffeted between runners when rounding the turn out of the front straight and lost ground.

 

5 Myona Morpheus – tightened for room in the front straight on the first occasion, was checked and lost ground. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

7 White Eagle - tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost ground. Tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the back straight, was checked and lost ground.

 

8 Malutki – marginally slow to begin. Bumped with approaching the turn out of the front straight.

 

9/3 Back Off - tightened for room when approaching the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost ground. Bumped with another runner when rounding the turn out of the front straight, was checked and lost ground.
