TRIALS

Stewards’ Trial 1

The greyhound PATRONUS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 366m in the time of 20.03 and was cleared to race all tracks, however, the greyhound must perform its first start at Capalaba.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

MAIDEN 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, ALPHA THEIA and ZABDON CHARLIE bumped.  Approaching the 200m, ALPHA THEIA and ZABDON CHARLIE collided on numerous occasions, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  At the same time, ALPHA HEMERA shifted out.  Approaching the finish line, ALPHA HEMERA and ORANGE OAK ROAD collided, causing ORANGE OAK ROAD to lose ground. 

 

Stewards questioned licensed trainer, Mr R Attard, in regards to the actions of ORANGE OAK ROAD in the race.  Stewards’ had concerns of its actions but did not believe they had sufficient evidence to charge the greyhound and gave the greyhound the benefit of the doubt.

2.

NOVICE 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, HAY YOU FELLA and CATCH ME KEITH collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Approaching the 200m, KICKER CREW and HEY YOU FELLA collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  At the same time, CATCH ME KEITH shifted out.

5TH GRADE HEAT 1 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, SIMPLE MAGIC, LIL MISS PINKY, LA BAMBA and ADHARA STEEL collide, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  Approaching the 200m, LIL MISS PINKY shifted out, at the same time ADHARA STEEL shifted in.  Leaving the 100m, LA BAMBA and LIL MISS PINKY collided causing LA BAMBA to lose ground and shift out.  Approaching the finishing line, LIL MISS PINKY and DARK SOVEREIGN bumped.

5TH GRADE HEAT 2 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, ELLA GARCIA shifted out.

5TH GRADE HEAT 3 3366M

Even start, with NOSMO KING slow.  Shortly after the start, FANCY FREEL shifted out, checking NOSMO KING and REAGAN TOKAAM, causing NOSMO KING to lose ground.  Approaching the 200m, AFTER GLOW and ALLPA MAMA bumped.  At the 200m, AFTER GLOW shifted out, with REAGAN TOKAAM shifting in.  At the 100m, FANCY FREEEL shifted out.

 

The greyhound NOSMO KING underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

6.

5th GRADE HEAT 4 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, JAYCEE’S LADY and FRIENDZ bumped.  Approaching the 200m, HANG ON LADS shifted out colliding with IRISH SPICE on numerous occasions, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  At the same time, ALPHA DAENERYS and HEARTLAND FLYER bumped.  Approaching the finishing line, HANG ON LADS clipped the heels of IRISH SPICE causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

 

The greyhound SAMURAI PIZZACAT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to both dew claws and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

MIXED 3/4  366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, CARBROOK LAD shifted out and collided with BUDDY TOKAAM, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  At the 200m, BUDDY TOKAAM and CARBROOK LAD bumped on numerous occasions, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  At the100m, CARBROOK LAD and POPPYS MAID bumped.

 

The greyhound BENTEKE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

FAREWELL WARREN SCANELLA BEST 8 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, HIGH CLASS BELLE, STRAIGHT SHADOW, SNAKEY KATIE and TOO MANY BILLS collided, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  Approaching the 200m, STRAIGHT SHADOW clipped heels, shifted in and was hampered. At the same time HIGH CLASS BELLE and SNAKEY KATIE bumped on numerous occasions, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  At the 200m, TOO MANY BILLS shifted out.
