BOGIE COMET was best to begin.  At the start CAPO and WESTENDER collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Shortly after the start SENZA REBEL was tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn CAPO and WESTENDER collided resulting in WESTENDER to be checked and shift outwards.  SENZA REBEL which was racing to their outside was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight BOGIE COMET was tightened for room and checked.  MADIES which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SENZA REBEL was tightened for room and checked.  CATCH ME KEITH and BOGIE COMET were wide in the back and front straights.

Even start with the exception of GRAND ANGEL which was very slow to begin.  Shortly after the start VALERIE MERLE was tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn WERINA BLUE shifted outwards resulting in VALERIE MERLE which was trailing to be checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight WERINA BLUE was tightened for room and checked.

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MIADEN FINAL 431M

Even start.  Rounding the turn into the back straight TIGI BENZ and MAGIC SWIFTLY bumped resulting in MAGIC SWIFTLY to be hampered.  In the back straight MAGIC SWIFTLY was wide.  Rounding the turn into the front straight CAPREGAS shifted outwards and collided with DODGE CREDIT resulting in that runner to be hampered.  In the front straight MAGIC SWIFTLY was wide.

 

The greyhound MAGIC SWIFTLY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned licensed trainer Mr. J Gardiner with the performance of the greyhound.  Mr. Gardiner stated that his expectations of the greyhound were to be competitive today however, early interference and a normal wide racing pattern were key factors in its finishing position today.  He did support the greyhound in today’s event.

POUNCING LILIE was marginally slow to begin.  Entering the first turn POUNCING LILIE, THIRTY EIGHT and WATCH OUT RENALD were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Shortly after DUDE PERFECT was tightened for room and checked.  WATCH OUT RENALD which was trailing was checked as a result.  Entering the turn out of the back straight THIRTY EIGHT was tightened for room and checked.  In the front straight GOLD RAINS shifted inwards and bumped SNOZZSTA resulting in that runner to be hampered.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M

WILDASH BAM BAM and MY FIRST PATCH were best to begin.  Through the first turn FABULOUS SHOW checked off heels and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight WILDASH BAM BAM was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards as a result.  KAPPA NU was wide in both the back and front straights.

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M

FARMOR SNIPPETS was marginally slow to begin.  Through the first turn all runners with the exception of ENKA ALLEN were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  TECHNO LADY was severely checked in this incident and lost considerable ground.

 

The greyhound TECHNO LADY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SPRING TRIXIE was best to begin.  FIERY BENZ and CARLTON CREW were slow to begin.  At the start DROP SHORT was tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after the start LADY PERLITA and KING SIZED bumped resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Approaching the first turn MAURY SPIRIT was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards.  CARLTON CREW which was trailing improved onto that runner’s heels resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked.  Entering the turn out of the back straight DASH OF FAITH was tightened for room and checked.  DROP SHORT which was trailing was checked as a result.  SPRING TRIXIE was wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound CARLTON CREW underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SPRING RECALL was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPLIT SYSTEM and MAGGIE BENZ bumped resulting in both runners to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING ELLIE was tightened for room and checked.  SPLIT SYSTEM which was trailing was checked as a result.  DODGY DANCER was wide in both the back and front straights.

Even start.  Shortly after the start GUN DANCER was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the first turn SHAKEY RANDLE and HARRY BENZ were tightened for room and checked.  GUN DANCER which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SHAKEY RANDLE was tightened for room, checked and shifted outwards.  Entering the turn out of the back straight JUST SIZE was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight GUN DANCER shifted outwards and collided with JUST SIZE resulting in that runner to be checked.  YOU JANE was wide in the back straight.

SPRING DORRIE, LATE SHOW SNOWY and RHONDDA MINER were marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn PENCIL, MEGSIE MAC and GIFTED ANGEL bumped and were hampered as a result.  Through the first turn GIFTED ANGEL was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight PENCIL was tightened for room and checked.  GIFTED ANGEL which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Entering the turn out of the back straight CHOPPER NORRIS was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the turn into the front straight GIFTED ANGEL checked off heels.

 

The greyhound GIFTED ANGEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
