Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound GO WILD SHAZ performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.17 and is now cleared all tracks except Lismore and Casino.

JESS ROSE HI was best to being with KIMARI MARIA slowly away.  Through the first turn TINY TAPPER, LOOKING FINE and SHEZA SHOCKER were tightened for room resulting in TINY TAPPER and LOOKING FINE to be checked and SHEZA SHOCKER to be severely checked. KIMARI MARIA which was trailing was checked as a consequence. Rounding the turn into the front straight KIMARI MARIA checked off heels.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

SUNSHINE SQUARE was slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn SUNSHINE SQUARE, MAGIC PRINCESS and HOT MOONLIT NITE were tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Through the first turn ROAD CAM shifted inwards and made contact with ALIMAY OSTI resulting in that runner to be checked.  Through the top turn ASICIAO and SUNSHINE SQUARE bumped resulting in both runners to be hampered.  FROSTY BEJAY which was racing to their outside was hampered and forced wide on the turn as a result.  Over the concluding stages of the event FROSTY BEJAY and SUNSHINE SQUARE bumped on a number of occasions and were hampered as a result.

The start of the event was delayed due to an interstate thoroughbred race.

 

HESA REBEL was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start STORM RAIDER and DORIE’S PICK were tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn CHIEF ROSE HI and YOU ARE HERE were tightened for room and checked.  STORM RAIDER, DORIE’S PICK and KERCHRIS LEE which were trailing were checked to varying degrees as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight POSSESSION was tightened for room and checked.  CHIEF ROSE HI and YOU ARE HERE which were trailing were checked resulting in YOU ARE HERE to lose considerable ground as a result.  Entering the turn out of the back straight STORM RAIDER was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  DORIE’S PICK which was trailing was checked as a result.

SENOR’S HEIR was best to begin.  UP THE HEAT and ZILLIE BEAN were slow to begin.  Approaching the first turn GOLD RAINS and FROSTY ZERO were tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight GOLD RAINS and UP THE HEAT were tightened for room and checked.  In the back straight PENNYLESS was wide.  Entering the top turn WILDASH GEE and FROSTY ZERO were tightened for room and checked.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE NOVICE 431M

NEED SOME SPEED, LANTANA LASS and SNOZZSTA were best to begin.  Through the first turn NEED SOME SPEED, LANTANA LASS and SNOZZSTA were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Shortly after FROSTY BROWN, BIG DIPPA and BRASS ROAD were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Entering the back straight NEED SOME SPEED and JALANCY LEE collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight NEED SOME SPEED was tightened for room and hampered.

 

The greyhound BIG DIPPA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near fore webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

THOMAS ROSE HI and SHAYLOR ANDRE were best to begin.  Through the first turn CYNO GENERAL and BOGART BLEND were tightened for room and checked.  SANDAVE BELLAIRE which was racing to their outside was checked as a consequence.  Through the top turn HARA’S HOOK checked off heels.  HAPPY GLEN which was trailing was hampered as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the front straight HAPPY GLEN and BOGART BLEND collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Through the front straight on a number of occasions HAPPY GLEN and BOGART BLEND bumped resulting in those runners to be hampered.

Even start.  Shortly after the start YOU JANE and COSMIC LAPTOP collided resulting in both runners to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight MY FIRST PATCH and OPPORTUNE KNOCKA collided resulting in both runners to be checked to varying degrees.  JEN ROSE HI which was trailing was severely checked as a consequence and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.  COSMIC DENLYN was also hampered as a result of this incident and forced out wide in the back straight.  Rounding the turn into the front straight COSMIC DENLYN and OPPORTUNE KNOCKA collided resulting in both runners to be checked.

 

The greyhound JEN ROSE HI underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound YOU JANE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ONLY EXIT, TOLL EVASION and WILDASH BAM BAM were best to begin.  Approaching the first turn TITLE, HO CHOI and CIGAR SAM were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.  Rounding the turn into the back straight TOLL EVASION, WILDASH BAM BAM and MAGGIE BENZ were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees resulting in WILDASH BAM BAM to be forced out wide in the back straight as a consequence.  Entering the top turn HO CHOI was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight CIGAR SAM contacted the heels of TITLE resulting in both runners to be checked to varying degrees.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

LONNIE’S BANJO was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start HARA’S SAM and PAN YOKO were tightened for room and checked.  Through the first turn MAYWYN IF LUCKY was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  In the back straight MAYWYN IF LUCKY and WILD WEST WILLY were wide.  Through the top turn JUST SIZE was tightened for room and hampered.

RAMBLIN’ ROSE was best to begin. Through the first turn all runners with the exception of RAMBLIN’ ROSE and COSMIC capers were tightened for room and checked to varying degrees.

 

The greyhound ASTON DANGER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards questioned trainer Mr. Colin Fry with regards to the improved performance of COSMIC CAPERS.  Mr. Fry stated that the greyhound had been trialling well leading up to today’s event after a change in the greyhound’s diet.  He further stated that he would be endeavouring to step the greyhound up to the 520m distance in the near future and eventually race again at Albion Park.
