Even start.  SLICE OF CAKE commenced to give ground leaving the front straight on the 1st occasion finishing a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight FREEWAY KING shifted out and bumped SIMMSY’S NINERON resulting in greyhounds to be momentarily hampered.  Leaving the back straight PHANTOM PETE improved onto the heels of BURNING resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight BURNING, PHANTOM PETE and FREEWAY KING raced tight.  Entering the front straight PHANTOM PETE and SIMMSY’S NINERON collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound SLICE OF CAKE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M

Even start with the exception of SPRING PETE which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start FRIENDZ, SPECIAL COVER, ORBIT THE SUN, LONESOME HERO and BINERAY BOY all raced tight which resulted in SPECIAL COVER and LONESOME HERO to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight FRIENDZ and ORBIT THE SUN were both tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight SPECIAL COVER raced wide resulting in LONESOME HERO which was racing to its outside to be hampered and raced wide.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SPRING PETE checked off the heels of LONESOME HERO and lost ground.  In the back straight SPECIAL COVER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 520M

SHAKEY START, DEL REY, VELOCITY ALLY and FI FI RUMBLE were best to begin.  FLYING TWISTER and KENNY SAID WAIT were slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight KENNY SAID WAIT and CYNO STEIN bumped resulting in KENNY SAID WAIT to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound SHAKEY START underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ISLA’S OPAL, MATTHEW TERRENCE and CZARNY were best to begin.  BROKEN PROTOCOL was slow to begin.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race MATTHEW TERRENCE checked across the heels of CZARNY and was momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound ISLA’S OPAL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side Achilles and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M

NAUGHTY JESS, CUPPA TEA KIWI, HEART FELT CLOUD and RAGNAR LOTHBROK were best to begin.  DOLLAR AND CENT was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn CUPPA TEA KIWI and FABIARNA were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DOLLAR AND CENT which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front and back straights DASH OF LUCK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FABIARNA and ASTIN’S WARRIOR which were racing to its outside were checked as a consequence and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of CHASING RAINBOWS which was marginally slow to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight SHIMATTA shifted out and made muzzle contact with AURIGA BINDI resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lost considerable ground.

 

The greyhound SHIMATTA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near fore webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Emery that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M

Even start with the exception of SIZEABLE and LIGHTNING WHITE which were both slow to begin.  In the front straight on the 1st occasion LOVED UP, PRATER’S PROMISE, CYNO MIRAGE and COMANECI were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight PRATER’S PROMISE and LIGHTNING WHITE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight COMANECI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  LOVED UP which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight CYNO MIRAGE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start.  Shortly after the start SPRING LAUREN and ALEEAH JET were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the front straight KNEW YOU WOULD was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with SPRING MYSTERY which turned, shifted out and collided with POCAHONTAS resulting in both SPRING MYSTERY and POCAHONTAS to be severely checked and fall taking no further competitive part in the race.  SPRING LAUREN which was trailing was severely checked and lost considerable ground as a result of this incident.

 

The greyhound SPRING MYSTERY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound POCAHONTAS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side Achilles tendon and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

AGRO’S THUNDER and ROAD TO FLAME were best to begin.  Shortly after the start BURNING OAK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ONE DOLLAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

THROTTLE ON and SON OF PRADA were best to begin.  Shortly after the start BIG WINSTON, MILLION DOLLAR and BONKNOCKA PRINCE raced tight resulting in MILLION DOLLAR to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn RANGER DANGER and BIG WINSTON were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight BIG WINSTON and BONKNOCKA PRINCE collided resulting in BIG WINSTON to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after RANGER DANGER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BIG WINSTON and RANGER DANGER collided resulting in BIG WINSTON to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound BIG WINSTON underwent a post race veterinarian examination revealed that the Greyhound had cramped.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Enright that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Cramping, and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks prior to nominating.
