TRIALS

Stewards Trial 1 – 520m

The greyhound UMBRELLA HARRY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.38 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The greyhound PEPPER BEACH performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m of in a time of 31.52 and is now cleared all tracks and up to 520m.

SPICY BLACK and METRO MANILA were slow to begin.  BLAZING was hampered in the 1st turn.  Leaving the 1st turn SPICY BLACK and BLAZING came together causing BLAZING to lose ground.  Approaching the top turn BLAZING checked off heels.  In the top turn METRO MANILA improved onto the heels of CALYPSO BAY checking this greyhound and causing it to lose ground.  Shortly after, CALYPSO BAY checked off heels.  In the home straight WAZZA QUEEN improved onto the hindquarters of WILDASH THUNDER, checking this greyhound.

 

The greyhound CALYPSO BAY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING NOVICE 431M

HANG ON LADS and BUNDY BUCKS were best to begin while WILDASH DIVA was slow.  In the 1st turn REGAL WAZ checked off heels.  In the back straight MAMMA’S BOY shifted out colliding with MISSY MOO.  Shortly after, WILDASH DIVA improved onto the heels of BUNDY BUCKS checking this greyhound.  Entering the top turn WILDASH CECIL, MISSY MOO and REGAL WAZ collided and became unbalanced and lost ground.  WILDASH DIVA that was following was inconvenienced as a result.  Entering the home straight WILDASH CECIL and MISSY MOO came together and became unbalanced.

The boxes were hand-started for all 520m distance events.

 

BARBARELLA was best to begin while BITTA BLUE and KNOCKA NOVA were slow.  KNOCKA NOVA and BITTA BLUE were hampered at the start.  Entering the 1st turn KNOCKA NOVA and GUNLEE ROCKER were tightened and momentarily hampered.  Leaving the 1st turn THUNDER OF FIRE, KNOCKA NOVA and GUNLEE ROCKER collided and were unbalanced.  Entering the top turn KNOCKA NOVA checked off heels.

 

The greyhound KNOCKA NOVA underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip, and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE 431M

FARAHMAC was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SPRING AUDREY, HAYVILLE GEORGE, GALLANT EXPLORER and FOXY BE GOOD collided and were unbalanced.  In the 1st turn LONESOME HERO shifted out and collided with HAYVILLE GEORGE causing interference to FARAHMAC and GALLANT EXPLORER which were racing to the outside.  Leaving the 1st turn DO THAT PHOEBEE and FOXY BE GOOD raced tight.  In the back straight LONESOME HERO checked off heels and raced wide.  Entering the top turn HAYVILLE GEORGE checked the heels of FOXY BE GOOD causing this greyhound to be hampered.

SKY BOND was best to begin.  Shortly after the start DARK JEDDA, LIGHTNING WHITE and LION’S BLUE were checked.  Approaching the 1st turn SIZEABLE checked off heels and collided with LION’S BLUE.  At the same time DAHOMEY WINDSONG and SKY BOND raced tight causing SKY BOND to shift out and collide with MJOLINER, and all greyhounds were inconvenienced.  LION’S BLUE and SIZEABLE raced tight and unbalanced through the 1st turn.  Leaving the 1st turn DARK JEDDA and LION’S BLUE collided and DARK JEDDA lost ground as a result.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M

STRING QUARTET was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start READY CETTE, TIM AND NIEL and ARE YOU THERE raced tight and were unbalanced.  In the front straight STRING QUARTET checked off heels.  Entering the 1st turn MISS BECKY SAM was tightened and shifted out colliding with COSMIC DENLYN and READY CETTE.  ARE YOU THERE was wide in the 1st turn.  Leaving the 1st turn COSMIC DENLYN and READY CETTE came together causing READY CETTE to lose ground.

SECOND GEAR and MAKE TODAY COUNT were best to begin.  Shortly after the start BLANCHETT and BURNING OAK collided and were unbalanced.  In the 1st turn BLANCHETT and SAIL SURFER collided and became unbalanced causing BLANCHETT and ZHICHAO LEE to collide subsequently.  Entering the top turn BURNING OAK was hampered causing ZHICHAO LEE that was following to race wide.  In the top turn SAIL SURFER checked off heels and was unbalanced.

 

The greyhound BURNING OAK underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind toe, and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

ON THE WALL was best to begin.  In the 1st turn SPRING MYSTERY, WILDASH WILLOW and SCIPIO AFRICANUS collided and were unbalanced.  Shortly after, ZAFONIC FORCE and SPRING MYSTERY collided and were unbalanced.  Leaving the back straight WILDASH WILLOW and SPRING MYSTERY raced tight causing WILDWASH WILLOW to be momentarily hampered.

SPRING POLLY, SAMANTHA BENZ and SHOT TO FAME were slow to begin.  In the 1st turn PENTADOG, KAAN PAKMAK and SHAKEY TANGO raced tight and unbalanced causing KAAN PAKMAK to shift out and collide with MAYWYN IF LUCKY.  REGAL BILL that was racing to the outside was also inconvenienced.  Shortly after, KAAN PAKMAK checked off heels and shifted out and SHOT TO FAME and MAYWYN IF LUCKY that were following were inconvenienced.  MAYWYN IF LUCKY was wide in the back straight and entering the home straight.  Entering the back straight SPRING POLLY was checked and lost ground.

DIAMOND JAKEY and GIFTED ANGEL were best to begin while BENTAXLE was slow.  Shortly after the start SPRING LAUREN and BIG DIPPA collided.  In the 1st turn BENTAXLE checked off heels and collided with BIG DIPPA causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced.  SPRING LAUREN and SCAR’S BROTHER which were racing in vicinity were also inconvenienced and lost ground.  In the top turn GIFTED ANGEL and STEP BACK LASS collided and were unbalanced.  In the home straight BLUE ME marred the running of DIAMOND JAKEY.

 

The greyhound SPRING LAUREN underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin, and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. C. Broadrick that the greyhound BLUE ME would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m, all tracks.
