TRIALS

Stewards Trial 1 – 520m

The greyhound PHANTOM HOUDINI performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.00 and is now cleared all tracks except Ipswich until 26 January 2018.

 

The greyhound FROSTY AJAY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 32.12 and is now cleared all tracks.

Even start with the exception of BONITA DE KAHN which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start KIMARI MARIA shifted in and collided with FANCY A BOHERNA resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight BONITA DE KAHN checked across heels and lost ground.

 

The greyhound KIMARI MARIA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

SKY RACING NOVICE 431M

SPECIAL COVER, EBONY TAN and SNOW GIRL were best to begin.  REACTOR, ZAHARA DYE and BLACK KOALA were marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn SPRING REINA and SNOW GIRL collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ZAHARA DYE shifted out which hampered the running of BLACK KOALA.  Leaving the back straight ZAHARA DYE shifted in and contacted the running rail.  ZAHARA DYE raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound EBONY TAN underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start with the exception of ALISSA’S ANGEL and SHAYLOR LES which were marginally slow to begin.  NOIRE CHERIE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ALISSA’S ANGEL and SHAYLOR LES collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ALISSA’S ANGEL and SHAYLOR LES collided resulting in SHAYLOR LES to be checked and lose ground.  NOIRE CHERIE commenced to give ground in the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound NOIRE CHERIE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the back and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

SPRING SHELLEY, DORREGO and MADIES were best to begin.  DOUBLE OAK and REBELLIOUS MAN were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start REBELLIOUS MAN and HOT collided.  Approaching the 1st turn SURE SHOT and CAWBOURNE BIGRED collided.  Entering the back straight CAWBOURNE BIGRED improved onto the heels of SURE SHOT.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight CAWBOURNE BIGRED and SURE SHOT collided resulting in SURE SHOT to be checked and lose ground.  HOT which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn MONDELLA, SPECTRAILLE, GIFTED ANGEL, LARRIKAN LASS and SCIPIO AFRICANUS all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees and losing ground with LARRIKAN LASS being severely checked and losing considerable ground.  Entering the back straight SPECTRAILLE shifted out and raced wide.  SCIPIO AFRICANUS which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight SCIPIO AFRICANUS improved onto the heels of SPRING BEK resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight LARRIKAN LASS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SCIPIO AFRICANUS which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the front straight during the run to the finish MONDELLA and SPECTRAILLE collided.

 

The greyhound SCIPIO AFRICANUS underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Shortly after the start SHAVASANA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn DOLLAR AND CENT and NEXT collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight IT’S ABOUT TIME and SHAVASAN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

7.

TRUCK PARTS EXPRESS 4th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn MAYWYN EMERALDS, WHO DAT GUN, ONYA BENZ and BURNING OAK all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground with BURNING OAK to be severely checked, fell and took no further competitive part in the race.  MAYWYN PROMISES raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound BURNING OAK underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards questioned M Jovicic the trainer of ZAFONIC FORCE in regards to his greyhounds actions in the front straight during the latter stages of the race.  After considering all evidence stewards could not be comfortably satisfied the greyhound had offended any rule and gave it the benefit of the doubt.

Even start with the exception of SHOW BOUND and SECOND GEAR which were both marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight LITTLE ACH CEE and SECOND GEAR collided.  Leaving the back straight LITTLE ACH CEE, SECOND GEAR, STAR RISE and SOCIAL all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees with SECOND GEAR losing ground.  Entering the front straight SOCIAL checked across heels and lost ground.

COFFEE AT RONI’S 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

NIGHT TIME LOVER and DOUBLE SWATZA were best to begin.  JAYCEE’S LADY was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MADRE, MAMMA’S BOY and GLORIA’S CHOICE collided resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight BLAZIN’ BLUE, GLORIA’S CHOICE and JAYCEE’S LADY collided resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BLAZIN’ BLUE and GLORIA’S CHOICE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  JAYCEE’S LADY which was racing to the outside of GLORIA’S CHOICE was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of RISING SON which was marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn ELOISE, BAZINGA BENZ, FLYING CIRCUS, RATHNAIT and RISING SON were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight ELOISE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  RATHNAIT which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  ELOISE raced wide in the back straight and again in the front straight.
