Stewards’ Trial  

The greyhound, THUNDER CLAP, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over a distance of 431m in the time of 26.40, and is now cleared to race all tracks 431m.

 

RACE REPORTS

ZABDON CHARLIE was best to begin, with KID SUNRISE, KAY CEE SAZIA and THUG were all marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, ROSEDUE LIVE WIRE checked off heels and become unbalanced.  FROSTY BLACK JAY, BLUE GIRL BLUE and ROSDUE LIVE WIRE raced tight and bumped leaving the turn into the back straight. Shortly after KID SUNRISE checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the back straight BLUE GIRL BLUE checked off heels and lost ground, ROSDUE LIVE WIRE and THUG which were trailing, were both severely inconvenienced as a result and lost considerable ground.

SKY RACING MAIDEN – 431M

HEY HEY HAYLEY was best to begin, with SWIFT SORCERESS and FANCY A BOHERNA both marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, COCONUT LASS checked off heels and lost ground, the muzzle of COCONUT LASS was dislodged from the face area at this point.  Approaching the top turn, YOGI BE GOOD checked off heels, stumbled and lost significant ground as a result. 

 

COCONUT LASS is now deemed a hard-to-box dog.

 

The greyhound SWIFT SORCERESS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NOVICE – 431M

Before the commencement of Race 3, all races were put back 1 (one) race due to mechanical problems with the lure.

 

Even start. Approaching the turn into the back straight, SNOW GIRL checked into ZAHARA DYE and then also checked into LUCKY LECKEY, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result.  Shortly after LA BELLA MIMI checked off heels and come back onto ZAHARA DYE and EBONNIE which were trailing, causing both those greyhounds to lose significant ground as a result. Immediately after SNOW GIRL checked off heels and lost ground. Approaching the top turn MIDNIGHT TO ONE checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight LUCKY LECKEY stumbled and shifted out causing LA BELLA MIMI, SNOW GIRL and ZAHARA DYE which were trailing, to all go wide to avoid that greyhound.  EBONNIE, which was also trailing, was severely impeded and lost considerable ground and momentum.

JUST LIKE YAZZA and VELOCITY ZARIN were best to begin.  GLORIA’S CHOICE and CASEY WHISPER were both marginally slow.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, STRUDEL checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the top turn JUST LIKE YAZZA checked off heels and lost ground. Shortly after STRUDEL and ENZO JAZZ were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

REBEL KENNELLY was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, BIG BAD BOB and SWARAVSKI checked.  FARMOR PERHAPS, which was trailing was impeded and lost ground.  FROSTY BEJAY, which was trailing those greyhounds, was tightened for racing room and lost ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight BIG BAD BOB checked off heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, FARMOR PERHAPS checked off heels and shifted wide as a result.

Even start.  All greyhounds, with the exception of KYLE THE TANK and LITE ME UP, raced tight and checked into the first turn, with all losing ground to varying degrees.  MAYWYN PROMISES raced wide in the back straight.

KAYPAT LODGE 4/5 GRADE FINAL MIXED – 431M

NIGHT TIME LOVER was best to begin.  MAYWYN REWARDS and SWIFT NIMROD were both marginally slow.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, CALL ME UGO and CAPTAIN LOUIE checked. Shortly after, LOBCHA and NIGHT TIME LOVER checked causing NIGHT TIME LOVER to become unbalanced and lose ground as a result.  CAPTAIN LOUIE checked off heels leaving the top turn.  MAYWYN REWARDS checked off heels approaching the turn into the front straight.

Before the commencement of Race 8, all races were put back 2 (two) races due to a storm which came through.

 

ROAD TO FLAME was best to begin, SOCIAL was marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight SOCIAL checked off heels and lost ground.  STAR RISE shifted wide into the top turn and continued to race wide for the remainder of the race thereafter.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 431M

LION’S BLUE was slow to begin.  MUSTANG NOVA and MADRE checked at the 1st turn. LION’S BLUE which was trailing, was impeded as a result and lost ground.  FIRE TO RAIN improved onto the hind quarters of MISS FERNANDO leaving the turn into the front straight, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose ground.

 

The greyhound MISS FERNANDO underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

EUROA AZAZ was best to begin.  MJOLINER was marginally slow.  THIS TIME MARY and TINY TURBO checked at the 1st turn, causing TINY TURBO to become unbalanced and lose ground as a result.  Shortly after, TINY TURBO, BENTAXLE, ZABDON LAMBO and KEAVY raced tight, causing ZABDON LAMBO to be impeded and lose momentum.  Approaching the top turn, EUROA AZAZ improved onto the rear of WISH YOU WILL, causing EUROA AZAZ to lose significant ground, and WISH YOU WILL to take no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  TINY TURBO and MJOLINER, which were trailing, were severely inconvenienced and lost significant ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, MJOLINER was impeded and checked off heels causing it to race wide as a result. 

 

The greyhound WISH YOU WILL underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off wrist and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
