RAIN ALERT and GO FOR CHUCK were both best to begin.  DRIVES ME CRAZY and SHESA DRATTA were both marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, LADYLIKE GRACE, DRIVES ME CRAZY and KRANKY were all tightened for racing room and lost momentum.  SHESA DRATTA raced wide through the turn into the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, MISS POCKET ACES and SHESA DRATTA raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to be become unbalanced and lose considerable ground as a consequence.  MISS POCKET ACES and SHESA DRATTA raced wide through the turn into the home straight.

SKY RACING NOVICE – 431M

NITRO NIC was best to begin.  MY BOUQUET, ROSDUE LEON and BONDI GIRL were all marginally slow and raced tight after the start.  At the 1st turn, MY BOUQUET and ROSDUE LEON improved onto the rear of SIMMSY’S NINERON, causing all those greyhounds to lose considerable ground as a result.  Leaving the 1st turn, MY BOUQUET checked off heels and lost significant ground as a consequence.  Approaching the top turn, SIMMSY’S NINERON was impeded and lost momentum.  SIMMSY’S NINERON raced wide through the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race thereafter.

GREYHOUND_DATA.COM 4/5 GRADE HEAT 1 – 431M

NO LAYING BACK was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, BINALONG ROAD, REGAL CYNDIE and DODGY ETHAN and DOUBLE OAK came together and checked, with all losing ground to varying degrees.  Leaving the 1st turn, ELOISE severely checked off heels and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  REGAL CYNDIE raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound ELOISE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

FARMOR IN TUNE and MURRA SHEHA were both marginally slow to begin.  In the 1st turn, SONNY GEORGE was tightened for racing room, stumbled and lost ground.  SPRING RUBY, which was trailing, checked off heels and lost ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, UNIQUE MOTIVE was momentarily impeded and shifted wide as a result.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 4/5 GRADE HEAT 3 – 431M

LILLY PILLY LASS was best to begin.  The entire field, apart from LILLY PILLY LASS, raced tight and checked in the 1st turn, with PRATER’S ACE, NITRO HEROINE, STRUDEL and NEVER A DOUBT all losing ground as a result.  NEVER A DOUBT raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, NITRO HEROINE checked off heels and lost ground.  STRUDEL and NEVER A DOUBT, which were trailing, were severely hampered as a consequence and lost substantial ground.

 

The greyhound STRUDEL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

JOHN’S CHOICE was best to begin.  HAY BILLY and CAEDLIN ROSE HI were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, FONIC LASS and FANTASIA LEE checked.

TRUCK PARTS EXPRESS 4/5 GRADE HEAT 5 – 431M

BLUEMENTRIT and SPRING REINA were both best to begin.  COSMO TRAV was marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, TUNDRA STORM, GITCHA ALLEY, ENZO JAZZ and LITTLE DOTTY TOO came together and checked, with GITACH ALLEY and LITTLE DOTTY TOO becoming unbalanced and losing ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, BLUEMENTRIT and SPRING REINA checked, with SPRING REINA becoming severely unbalanced and losing substantial ground as a result, whilst BLUEMENTRIT lost significant ground.  ENZO JAZZ and LITTLE DOTTY TOO, which were trailing, were severely hampered and lost substantial ground as a consequence.

TOPAZ TAN was marginally slow to begin.  At the 1st turn, MONDELLA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, STROGANOFF checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the top turn, WHINGING WILKO checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, ROAD CAM and MONDELLA checked and lost ground as a consequence.

9.

COFFEE AT RONI’S 4/5 GRADE HEAT 6 – 431M

MAXIMUM JOAN was marginally slow to begin.  RATHNAIT was slow.  In the 1st turn, MY GLORIOUS GAL shifted out and checked into SPRING GARY and SPRING LOTTIE.  SPRING GARY was severely unbalanced as a consequence and lost substantial ground and any competitive part in the race thereafter.  SPRING LOTTIE also lost considerable ground as a result of the contact.  SPRING GARY commenced to yield ground shortly before the finish line.

 

The greyhound SPRING GARY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock and was humanely euthanised.

 

The “All Clear” was delayed at the conclusion of Race 9, so stewards’ could view the racing footage in regards to the start and in particular the greyhounds leaving the boxes.

RAINBOW RUBY was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, KEAVY, COOKIE NO CREAM and SHAYLOR CLEDUS raced tight and checked.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, KEAVY was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  RUMBLING JAKE, which was trailing, was severely impeded as a result, and also lost substantial ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, HOLLY KNOCKS shifted out and checked into RAINBOW RUBY, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.  Shortly after, SHAYLOR CLEDUS shifted out and impeded KEAVY, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.
