The greyhound RED HOT GOSSIP performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, in a time

 of 25.40, and is now cleared to race.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, SPUR ON and DRIVES ME CRAZY collide.  Through the 1st turn, TECHNO’S GLORY and EYE LIKE CAKE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight, RUSSIAN ROULETTE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, RUSSIAN ROULETTE and SPUR ON collide, resulting in SPUR ON to be checked, fell and took no further competitive part in the race.

 

The greyhound SPUR ON underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn, MASTER TIDE, FROSTY BLACK JAY, STORM POWER and SHEZ NIKITA were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn, BONDI GIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, NURBURG was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, GALWAY ALICE checked across heels and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, NURBURG shifted in and contacted the running rail and was checked as a consequence.  SPEEDY MARINA, BROKEN YOLK and BONDI GIRL, which were all trailing, were checked as a result of this incident and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound NURBURG underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start, with the exception of KAAN PAKMAK and FROSTY AJAY which were slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn, GIFTED ANGEL and GUY FAWKES collided, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, UNIQUE KALEESI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, INFRARED LASS, SLICE OF CAKE and BRITTANY TALKS all raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, INFRARED LASS and BRITTANY TALKS collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound AUSSIE DIAMOND underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the chest muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

The greyhound CHIPPIES underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Even start.  Entering the back straight, SPRING LEMON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  WERINA LIGHTNING raced wide over various stages of the event.  Entering the front straight, UMBREON improved onto the heels of SPRING LEMON and lost ground.

JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS MIXED 4/5 GRADE FINAL – 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, DOUBLE OAK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn, MYONA ROSE and ASH TIDE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, DOUBLE OAK checked across heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, MALUTKI was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, CIANNA’S ANGEL shifted out, turned its head and made muzzle contact with NO MORE CAKE, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

 

The greyhound MYONA ROSE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Stewards’ advised trainer, Mr K Hoggan, the greyhound CIANNA’S ANGEL would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, 28 days and greyhound to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, 431m all tracks.

Even start.  Shortly after the start, SPRING WATTLE shifted in, which hampered the running of NEVER A DOUBT.  Through the 1st turn all runners, with the exception of SPRING WATTLE and SWIPE RIGHT, were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, SPRING REINA was tightened for racing room, checked, fell, and took no further competitive part in the race.  HONEY HORNET, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound HONEY HORNET underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SPRING REINA underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GJ WALSH & CO 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, LONG ROAD HOME was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, HONEY TRAP was tightened for racing room, checked, shifted out and collided with FANTASIA LEE, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and to lose considerable ground.  NO LAYING BACK raced wide in the back straight.  Leaving the back straight, RANGER DANGER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn, SONNY GEORGE, GOOD GOLLY OLLY and SPRING RUBY were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  PRATER’S PROMISE was tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost considerable ground and took no further competitive part in the race.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, CRACKERJACK RUBY and SONNY GEORGE collide, resulting in SONNY GEORGE shifting out and colliding with LILY’S BEAN, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound PRATER’S PROMISE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
