Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MDNPW – 431M

 

RUSSIAN ROULETTE and OUTBACK ILLUSION were best to begin.  In the 1st turn, SIR RAVEN improved onto the heels of OUTBACK DESTINY, shortly after OUTBACK DESTINY commenced to yield ground.  BLUE GIRL BLUE, MY BRO DOUGIE and TAX COLLECTOR, which were trailing, were inconvenienced. Shortly after  TAX COLLECTOR shifted out, which inconvenienced BONITA DE KAHN, which was trailing. TAX COLLECTOR raced wide in the back straight.  TAX COLLECTOR raced wide through the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race. BLUE GIRL BLUE and OUTBACK ILLUSION, checked prior to the finish. 

 

The greyhound OUTBACK DESTINY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 2 – SKY RACING MAIDEN – 431M

 

STILTON ALI, MASTER SHADOW and CELTIC FEAR were all best to begin.  IVY’S BOUQUET was marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, MISS EMMY shifted out, checking IVY’S BOUQUET, causing that greyhound to lose ground.  At the 1st turn, MASTER SHADOW shifted in, causing STILTON ALI to be impeded.  Shortly after, STILTON ALI checked off the heels of CELTIC FEAR and lost considerable ground.  MISS EMMY raced wide through the turn into the back straight, and remained wide in the back straight. 

 

Race 3 – GREYHOUND_DATA.COM NOVICE – 431M

 

MAJESTIC MARVEL and SUCCATASH were best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, ESOTERIC and ROYAL PLAY raced wide and checked, with both losing ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, KULU STING checked off heels, shifted out and collided with SUCCASTASH, which checked into GYPSY’S WISH, causing KULU STING and GYPSY’S WISH to become unbalanced and lose ground. Shortly after, ESOTERIC checked off heels and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, KULU STING and GYPSY’S WISH checked, causing KULU STING to lose considerable ground.  Approaching the top turn, GYPYS’S WISH shifted in, which impeded ROYAL PLAY, causing that greyhound to lose momentum. 

 

The greyhound MAJESTIC MARVEL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 0-4 WINS – 630M

 

RING HIM and TOPAZ TAN were best to begin, ROAD SIDE ASSIST was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, RING HIM shifted in, causing POWDER to be tightened for racing room and become unbalanced.  Leaving the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion, KULU TURKEY checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight on the final occasion, CASEY WHISPER was impeded and lost momentum. 

 

The greyhound CASEY WHISPER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 431M

 

SYMI SUMMER was best to begin, REBEL KENNELLY was marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, RIFF and BEER SHACK checked, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.  Approaching the 1st turn, KULU TUPPENCE and SMOKIN’ ALICE raced tight and checked, causing KULU TUPPENCE to lose ground.  RIFF, which was trailing, collided heavily into the rear of KULU TUPPENCE, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground.  Shortly after, KULU TUPPENCE shifted out and checked BEER SHACK.  At the same time, RIFF checked off heels and lost ground. 

 

Race 6 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

 

RINGBARK BELLA was best to begin, KULU CHANCE was marginally slow.  At the 1st turn, BELL BURTON and SPRING FESTIVAL raced tight and checked.  Approaching the top turn, KULU CHANCE raced tight with BELL BURTON, causing BELL BURTON to shift out and check off the heels of ALPHA ATLAS.  SPRING FESTIVAL, which was trailing, was severely impeded and lost substantial ground as a result. 

 

Race 7 – JUST GREYHOUNDS PHOTOS 5TH GRADE FINAL – 431M

 

ASH TIDE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start, ALPHA DAENERYS and INDOMINOUS DANE checked.  Approaching the 1st turn, REACTOR shifted out and checked ASH TIDE.  Shortly after, PROPER GENT checked off heels, shifted out and collided into ASH TIDE, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  Approaching the top turn, INDOMINOUS DANE was impeded and lost momentum.

 

Race 8 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 3/4TH GRADE– 431M

 

Prior to the beginning of race 8, all races were put back a race, due to mechanical issues with the lure.

 

NO LAYING BACK was best to begin.  Majority of the field raced tight into the 1st turn, with SAGA NOREN tightened for racing room, checked and then collided with SMALL JEWEL, which was trailing, resulting in both those greyhounds losing considerable ground.  Shortly after, ELEGANT DUK checked off heels and lost ground. NO LAYING BACK raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, ELEGANT DUK was impeded, checked off heels, become unbalanced and lost ground as a result.  NO LAYING BACK raced wide through the turn into the front straight, and for the remainder of the race.

 

The greyhound ELEGANT DUK underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – GJ WALSH & CO 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 431M

 

Prior to the beginning of race 9, DOUBLE OAK underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. 

 

ROSDUE SHAKA was best to begin, FIVE GALLON HAD was slow.  At the 1st turn, CAWBOURNE FAWNY shifted in and collided with MONDELLA, resulting in both greyhounds losing momentum.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, EDGY checked off heels and lost ground.  Shortly after, MONDELLA checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, RANGER DANGER shifted out, which impeded EDGY, causing that greyhound to lose momentum.

 

 

Race 10 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 – 431M

 

NASH TATO and WILDASH TOM, were both best to begin. STICKY STICKA and SPRING RITCHIE were marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, STICKY STICKA improved onto the rear of NASH TATO, causing that greyhound to lose considerable ground.  Shortly after, SPRING BENNY checked off the rear of STICKY STICKA and lost momentum.  NASH TATO raced wide through the turn into the front straight.
