Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND MAIDEN (1) – 288M

 

BRAINS TRUST was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, FLAG UNFURLED was impeded, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after, AMBY’S HOPE, which was trailing, shifted out towards FLAG UNFURLED and made muzzle contact with that greyhound.  At the same time, PAWTICIPATION and EXCLUSIVE CHLOE raced wide, with EXCLUSIVE CHLOE checking off heels and losing considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, EXCLUSIVE CHLOE was tightened for racing room, stumbled and became unbalanced.

 

The greyhound EXCLUSIVE CHLOE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Connection to the greyhound, AMBY’S HOPE, was advised the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 1st Offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 28 days, and greyhound to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

Race 2 – WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MAIDEN (2) – 288M

 

RED BELLY BLACK was best to begin, COCONUT LASS was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, NEVER was tightened for racing room, shifted out and checked with BOO CAN BABE, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose significant ground.  Shortly after, ZABDON ZINGER checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, COCONUT LASS shifted out and checked with NEVER, causing NEVER to race wide through the home turn.  BOO CAN BABE, which was trailing, was momentarily impeded.  At the turn into the front straight, COCONUT LASS continued to shift wide through the turn, then checked into NEVER, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum. 

 

The greyhound BOO CAN BABE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – SKY RACING NOVICE – 288M

 

SOLO MISSION was best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, RAPID MAIL was tightened for racing room and checked heavily into HAIGHT ASHBURY, coming into contact with the running rail as it did.  RAPID MAIL and HAIGHT ASHBURY both lost considerable ground as a result of that contact.  At the same time, LET’S WIN BILLY shifted out and collided heavily into FROSTY SKY, causing both those greyhounds to lose substantial ground.  Leaving the top turn, RAPID MAIL and FROSTY SKY collided, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose ground.  RYAN’S ILLUSION and LET’S WIN BILLY raced tight and checked over the concluding stages of the race. 

 

The greyhound RAPID MAIL underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

DESTINI PEGASUS was best to begin, ZABDON CHARLIE and INDIAN RUBY were slow.  Approaching the top turn, MR. APOLLO and SPECIAL COVER were tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, RACHEL TERROR shifted out and made muzzle contact with BETTY’S SON which was racing to its outside.  Shortly after, SPECIAL COVER and BAILEY BE GOOD raced tight, with SPECIAL COVER checking off heels and losing ground.  Both RACHEL TERROR and BETTY’S SON raced wide through the turn as a result of RACHEL TERROR’s actions, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground. 

 

Connection to the greyhound, RACHEL TERROR, was advised the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring 2nd Offence, with the greyhound to be stood down for a period of 3 months, and greyhound to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial prior to racing.

 

Race 5 – KAYPAT LODGE 5TH GRADE (2) – 288M

 

REDNECK BANJO was best to begin, MISS FERNANDO was marginally slow.  Approaching the top turn, MISS FERNANDO came into contact with the running rail, and lost substantial ground as a result.  Shortly after, BLACK SCORPION and POINT SEVEN checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the top turn, BLACK SCORPION checked off heels and lost considerable ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight, KEY FACTOR shifted in \which momentarily impeded YOU SLIPPY GYPSY. Midway in the front straight, YOU SLIPPY GYPSY was impeded and shifted out. 

 

The greyhound MISS FERNANDO underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM 4TH GRADE – 288M

 

SMART WERINA was slow to begin.  Approaching the top turn, CAPTAIN TIL improved onto the rear of ZINCHENKO, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the top turn, BARNEY BE GOOD checked off heels and became severely unbalanced, losing substantial ground.  CAPTAIN TIL, which was trailing, was impeded.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, ILLAWONG COWGIRL shifted out, which impeded the running of SHADOW COURT, which checked into BROTHER TREVOR.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, BARNEY BE GOOD shifted out and checked heavily into CAPTAIN TIL, CAPTAIN TIL shifting out and colliding heavily into SHADOW COURT as a result of that contact, resulting in SHADOW COURT to fall.  SMART WERINA, which was trailing, was severely inconvenienced and lost substantial ground, with CAPTAIN TIL also losing substantial ground as a result of that contact.

 

The greyhound SHADOW COURT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 288M

 

KYLE THE TANK and ELLY BYE BYE were both best to begin.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, FOXY BE GOOD and DATA BASE checked, causing DATA BASE to stumble and lose momentum. 

 

Race 8 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MIXED 1/2ND GRADE – 288M

 

AIM was best to begin.  PEBBLE BAY was slow.  Approaching the top turn, LID PINGER improved onto the rear of MUSTANG TULLY, causing MUSTANG TULLY to stumble and lose momentum.  Leaving the top turn, DAISY DREAMS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  PEBBLE BAY, which was trailing, collided into the rear of DAISY DREAMS and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, ROYAL PRIZE shifted out and collided heavily into MUSTANG TULLY, causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose ground.  Shortly after, DAISY DREAMS shifted out and collided heavily into LID PINGER, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  AIM shifted in and checked RAPID EXPLOSION prior to the finish. 

 

Race 9 – OWNER OF THE YEAR 2007 – BUTIBAM CONFE 5TH GRADE (3) – 288M

 

BRAYSTONES BEACH was best to begin.  LIKA VAUTIN began awkwardly and was slow.  Approaching the top turn, KYEEKY and BIG HUEY checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Leaving the top turn, LIKA VAUTIN shifted out and collided into PROPER TOFF, causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, LITTLE LUCK shifted out which impeded LIKA VAUTIN, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. 

 

Race 10 - WWW.IPSWICHGREYHOUNDS.COM MA5 – 288M

 

Prior to the commencement of Race 10, STAR RISE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. 

 

STAR RISE was clearly best to begin.  Approaching the top turn, MIDNIGHT DASHER improved onto the heels of PINK SUNSET then shifted out and collided with CRUIZE’S MAGIC, causing those greyhounds to lose ground.  PERONI BEACH, which was trailing, was severely inconvenienced and lost ground.  Leaving the top turn, LOUIE THE FLYER checked off heels, shifted out and collided into PERONI BEACH, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground. Approaching the turn into the front straight PERONI BEACH shifted in, LOUIE THE FLYER which was trailing improved onto the rear of PERONI BEACH, causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  

 

The greyhound LOUIE THE FLYER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
