Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN - 380M

 

LITTLE BIT LOST was the best to begin.  TIN STAR was slow to begin.

 

LITTLE BIT LOST checked off IMPENDING STORM and lost ground in the back straight.

 

SANDOWN SARAH was tightened for racing room and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to PAWTICIPATION and LITTLE BIT LOST.

 

PAWTICIPATION underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – A & A INDUSTRIAL CLADDING NOVICE – 380M

 

OUR STAR was the best to begin.  BUTCHULLA MAGIC was slow to begin.  LEGS O’REILLY and CLYDEBANK BOY were slow into stride as the start was affected.

 

CLYDEBANK BOY checked off LEGS O’REILLY and lost considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

STRONG ENOUGH and WESTMEAD WARRIOR bumped on the turn into the front straight.

 

LEGS O’REILLY checked across the heels of STRONG ENOUGH and bumped WESTMEAD WARRIOR entering the front straight.

 

CLYDEBANK BOY was inspected by the veterinarian after the race.  No abnormalities were found.  Trainer M. Hickmott was advised that the performance of the greyhound tonight was bordering on unsatisfactory.

 

Race 3 – CHEAPA AUTO SPARES – 5TH GRADE (1) – 380M

 

DYNA FABLE was the best to begin.  MULROONEY was slow into stride as the start was affected.

 

BREEASH MAGIC checked off LIMIT MAN and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to MAGIC GIZMO and RHONDA’S BEAR.

 

MULROONEY checked across the heels of RHONDA’S BEAR to race wide into the front straight.

 

Race 4 – OLSEN FAMILY 5TH GRADE (2) – 380M

 

NEXT was a late scratching at 18:35 due to it being seasonal.

 

WINNIE’S ROSE was the best to begin.

 

GOLDENPAW FLYER lost ground shortly after the start and continued to lose ground taking no further competitive part in the race.  A veterinary examination of the greyhound revealed a shoulder injury.

 

NORSE VIKING and WINNIE’S ROSE bumped entering the front straight resulting in WINNIE’S ROSE becoming unbalanced, losing ground and racing wide.

 

Race 5 – LAMBERTS FRESH FOODS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 498M

 

LODGEMENT was the best to begin. 

 

PHANTOM HENRY checked across the heels of RIMBA SAMBIA shortly after the start.

 

DREAM WAEAVER checked off LODGEMENT on the turn into the back straight resulting in DREAM WEAVER shifting out causing interference to CHOC LATTE CLOUD who in turn caused interference to PHANTOM HENRY and RIMBA SAMBIA.

 

ASA ABBANDANDO checked off CHOC LATTE CLOUD and lost ground prior to entering the back straight.  ASA ABBANDANDO continued to lose ground and finished a distant last.  A veterinary examination of the greyhound revealed a toe injury.

 

DREAM WEAVER checked off POPPY CHOOKY and lost ground entering the back straight.

 

POPPY CHOOKY checked off the hind quarters of RIMBA SAMBIA and lost considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to CHOC LATTE CLOUD and PHANTOM HENRY.

 

Race 6 – GSA BUILDING SERVICES 4TH GRADE – 380M

 

Even start.

 

BLACK RUSKY checked off the heels of PAPPA DOES MAMBO and lost some ground after turning out of the back straight.

 

Race 7 – HAROLD & DESMA HOVI MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 380M

 

Even start.

 

NO NOT ME was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.

 

RUM RUNNER checked off BUNDY CUTTER and fell on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to LICORICE SHOT, SUPERFORMANCE and TOES.  RUM RUNNER was inspected by the veterinarian who reported an off hind muscle injury.

 

Race 8 – BURDEKIN VET SERVICES MIXED 1/2ND GRADE – 380M

 

Even start.

 

FERAL CHERYL checked off the heels of BACK STREET BOY and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

BACK STREET BOY shifted out across the heels of MADAGASTER to race wide into the front straight.

 

FERAL CHERYL raced wide in the front straight.

 

Race 9 – SKINNYS SUPA DELI MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 380M

 

GOLD TOTAL was the best to begin.

 

INTENSIFY checked off BURNER BANT and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

HAWKE’S SPECIAL raced wide into the front straight.

 

Race 10 – ADOPT A GREYHOUND 5TH GRADE (3) – 380M

 

Even start.

 

PREMIER SHAMROCK was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

PREMIER SHAMROCK underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Robert Lound that the performance of the greyhound tonight compared to its previous four starts was bordering on unsatisfactory. Mr Lound stated that he would be checking the greyhound thoroughly for any injuries that may be evident and would advise the stewards accordingly.
