Race 4: IRON JACK OPEN Handicap 1212m

THE MECHANIC – Cast an off hind plate on route to the barriers and couldn’t be reshod. Stewards permitted the gelding to race without that plate. The gelding commenced to weaken from the 600m, when asked to comment jockey P Hamblin was very disappointed in the gelding’s performance in today’s event. He was happy with the run to middle stages, then when asked for another effort of the horse it failed to respond. Trainer G. Richardson was advised should anything come to light in the coming days, which may explain the poor performance to report to stewards. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Race 5: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 55 Handicap
