The following horses were declared late scratchings at 7.55am due to no rider being available:

Race 1: Next Payments Maiden Plate – 1212m
The start was delayed when SALEX SPIRIT had some difficulty in loading.
PRICKLY TICK – Slow to begin.
ALATAR – The barrier gate was marginally slow to open and as a result lost ground. Rider H. Phillips reported her mount hung in, in the early stages.
Race 2: Misignworx Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1600m
ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
UBIRR ROCK – Slow to begin.
ROCKUZZO – Slow to begin.
Race 3: Iron Jack Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1090m
BIG SHAKA – Slow to begin.
BRIS VEGAS – Hung out in the home straight under pressure and as a result was difficult to ride out.
Race 4: XXXX Gold QTIS Open H’cap – 1212m
SPLITZ – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey B. Newport explained that although the gelding was previously successful on sand tracks, in his opinion, it did not suit the sand track today. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
THE MECHANIC - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 5: Bundaberg BETTA Home Living Benchmark 55 H’cap – 850m
Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer M. Kropp in relation to the late scratching of SPIRITS FIRST which was dual accepted in races 5 and 6, owing to no rider being available. Stewards declared the mare a late scratching from race 5 at 7:55am.
FIRST BID – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Hung out throughout.
MR FUJI – Began very awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CARROCK – Bumped heavily at the start.
NEED FINANCE – Bumped at the start.
MIA SINGA – Began awkwardly.
Race 6: Hitz 93.9 FM Benchmark 50 H’cap – 1212m
Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer C. Vick in relation to the late scratching of MAGIC PANTHER which was dual accepted in races 3 and 6, owing to no rider being available. Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching from race 6 at 7:55am.
WINDQUEST – Blundered on jumping away. A post race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration to the near-side front fetlock.
BLACK ENVY – Blundered on jumping away and was bumped shortly after the start.
SPIRIT’S FIRST – Began awkwardly.
CRISSCROSS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
