GENERAL
 
As T. Allen had been stood down by stewards, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Licensed Jockey Fiona Jervis pleaded guilty to a charge under AR139 in that a urine sample provided by her on 23 September 2019 was found upon analysis to contain a banned substance under AR 136(1). Ms Jervis’ licence was suspended for a period of 3 months, commencing 7 October 2019, the date on which she had been stood down, and expiring 7 January 2020. Ms Jervis was advised that prior to resuming riding she would be required under AR139(4) to provide a sample free of any banned substance. Ms Jervis was advised of her rights to an Internal Review.
 
Race 1: HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN PRYDE MAIDEN PLATE – 1650M
 
DEBONAIR DES – Following a report from jockey M. Hellyer that the horse had blundered slightly en route to the barriers, it underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bumped approaching the 200m when HEATHROW shifted in abruptly.
 
HONOVI – Raced three wide throughout. Rider S. Cormack reported that after jumping moderately from a wide barrier he was three wide and as a result was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages. He added that the gelding may not have appreciated today’s firmer track.
 
MAJOR OAK – Tightened between runners shortly after the start and lost ground. Improved on to the heels of CRAIGLEA GUNSMOKE approaching the 1000m and had to be checked. Improved on to heels approaching the 600m and was steadied.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK – Jumped awkwardly.
 
CRAIGLEA GUNSMOKE – Shifted out shortly after jumping, hampering MAJOR OAK, and lost ground. Made the crossing approaching the 1000m very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MADCALL – Commenced to overrace whilst being restrained in the early stages, made the first turn very awkwardly and shifted wider, racing wide until approaching the 900m.
 
HEATHROW – Shifted in abruptly approaching the 200m and bumped DEBONAIR DES and then was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
 
SHEINDLIN – Fractious in the barriers. Reared prior to the start being effected.
 
Race 2: PRYDE’S BIOMARE QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
SPURIOUS – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SNOOKS – Jumped awkwardly.
 
CRAIGLEA DANIEL – Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the barrier partition and lost ground. Raced three wide throughout.
 
CRAIGLEA LIZZY – Raced four wide without cover throughout. Rider dropped his whip at the 200m.
 
ARJAYAR – Raced wide throughout.
 
PISCOPIA – Rider W. O’Connell reported that his mount failed to muster any early speed, however, finished the race off well under pressure and in his view would appreciate a step up in distance.
 
MOA’S GIRL – Had to be checked and lost ground approaching the 350m when tightened for room by SPURIOUS, which was taken in by CRAIGLEA DANIEL. Apprentice Z. White, the rider of CRAIGLEA DANIEL, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she made insufficient effort to prevent her mount laying in on to SPURIOUS, resulting in interference to MOA’S GIRL. Apprentice Z. White’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 13 days, commencing midnight Saturday 23 November and expiring midnight Friday 6 December 2019. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that the interference was mid-range as well as apprentice White’s recent breach of this rule.
 
STRYKING PRINCESS – Underwent a veterinary examination after the rider had expressed concern with the filly’s action en route to the barriers and was passed fit to race.
 
Race 3: PRYDE’S EASIOIL CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
 
MISSILE STRIKE – Slow to begin. Bumped RIMMSKI rounding the home turn. Rider J. Woodhouse was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.
 
ESKDALE GIRL – Overraced in the early stages.
 
LOVES A LOTTERY – Jumped awkwardly.
 
RAGING ROYAL – Slow to begin.
 
INSTANTANEOUS – Overraced in the early stages.
 
RIMMSKI – Bumped by MISSILE STRIKE rounding the home turn.
 
Race 4: PRYDE’S EASILYTE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
LIKEABEEL – Tightened between runners shortly after jumping. Forced wider on the track rounding the home turn.
 
ZIPTIE – Slow to begin.
 
ICE ELITE – Raced wide throughout.
 
ANOTHER ELEMENT – Checked approaching the 900m and lost ground when SECRET CONQUEST was taken in by SOLITARY MARCH. Apprentice C. Bayliss, the rider of SOLITARY MARCH, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in at that point when insufficiently clear of SECRET CONQUEST, which was taken in on to ANOTHER ELEMENT. Apprentice J. Bayliss’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 10 days, to commencing midnight Saturday 23 November and expiring midnight Tuesday 3 December 2019. Inconvenienced approaching the 400m. In determining penalty stewards took into account that the interference was in the low range, however were also mindful of apprentice Bayliss’s record in relation to breaches of this rule.
 
BURN THE BOATS – Slow to begin. Steadied to avoid the weakening SOLITARY MARCH rounding the home turn.
 
SAN BERNARDINO – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
DE VEGA PEACH – A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the off hind leg.
 
SOLITARY MARCH – Shifted in abruptly approaching the 400m, inconveniencing ANOTHER ELEMENT, and began to weaken badly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Trainer S. Randall was advised that prior to the horse racing again it must trial satisfactorily.
 
LITTLE NATURAL – Raced wide throughout. Shifted out rounding the home turn to avoid the heels of the weakening SOLITARY MARCH, taking LIKEABEEL wider on the track.
 
SGURR MOR – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 5: PRYDE’S RACECUBE BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1050M
 
OUTBACK STORM – Raced three wide throughout. Trainer N. Hocking advised that in light of today’s performance the horse would be sent for a spell.
 
GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS – Placed in restricted room approaching the 900m between MISS ZINZIN and QUART POT, which shifted out.
 
SPLASH OF CRISTAL – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MISS ZINZIN – Steadied from the heels of ATOMIC MISSILE leaving the 300m.
 
Race 6: PRYDE’S EASIPERFORMANCE CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1400M
 
The start of this race was delayed when SOARING HEART, which reared in the barriers, was removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race.
 
SOARING HEART – Blundered on jumping and lost ground.
 
MY DELILAH – Raced keenly in the early stages. Overraced for a short distance approaching the 900m when being restrained.
 
KATARINA – Due to a clerical error the horse’s gear indicated that it would wear earmuffs, however, that gear was to be removed after arriving at the barriers.
 
PLAY NOW – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
STELLAR JEWEL – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: PRYDE’S EASIFEED THREE BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1650M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow jockey R. Palmer and the connections of 4th placegetter KENDALL’S DREAM to view the photo finish image. After viewing the image, connections indicated they were satisfied with the Judge’s placings.
 
MARLAHN – Raced fiercely passing the winning post on the first occasion and made the turn out of the straight awkwardly, forcing POLE VOLTER and PHANTOM SHADOW wider on the track.
 
POLE VOLTER – Forced wider on the track making the turn out of the straight. Momentarily tightened for room approaching the 200m between SKY ONE, which shifted in, and PHANTOM SHADOW, which shifted out.
 
PHANTOM SHADOW – Forced wider on the track making the turn out of the straight and raced wide until obtaining cover near the 900m. Inclined to lay in making the home turn.
 
MR RED SHOES – Weakened from the 800m and tailed off significantly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J. Murdoch indicated that the horse did not appreciate today’s going.
 
KENDALL’S DREAM – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
JET’N’WILD – Slow to begin. Shifted wider near the 900m and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
