Race 1: BROWNS BP MERINDA/BROWNS MILK SUPPLY RB 0 - 60 Handicap 1000m
MAGITORIAL jumped away awkwardly.
BALLERDEE BOB was slow to begin.
LUARICA raced wide in the middle stages. Rider B. Thomson was cautioned for her use of the whip prior to the 100m.
AMAHERO raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 2: SHANE AIREY ANNIEVERSARY/INDUSTRY FIRE SERVICES QT1 Maiden Plate 1100m
YAKAPARI was difficult to load into the barrier and delayed the start.. Trainer J Campeao was advised the mare will be required to perform a satisfactory barrier trial prior to starting again.
AL MAH ROCKET was hampered at the start and lost ground.
SPEEWAH LASS was slow into stride.
BOUN CI was fractious in the barrier. Approaching the 700m had to be restrained when tightened by GORGEOUS GAL which shifted in.
GORGEOUS GAL C. Jokic was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in at the 700m when not sufficiently clear of BOUN CI.
FYLART hung out approaching the 700m. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
ACELA raced wide in the middle stages.
HEES TERRYFIED raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 3: ALAN JAMES AMITH MEMORIAL BenchMark 55 Handicap 1280m
DRAGON ROCKET was very slow to begin.
LADIES WHO LUNCH was slow into stride.
MOLONGLE HERO raced wide in the middle stages.
WE FOUND IT was hampered at the 150m.
Jockey M. Abe (SUNNY CHIEF) placed second lodged a protest against the winner MADAM PINK ridden by N. Nelson for alleged interference over the concluding stages of the race.. After hearing evidence from the jockeys and connections of both horses and from viewing the film stewards were of the opinion that MADAM PINK did shift out in the straight however, stewards took into account the margins and that jockey M. Abe did not have to stop riding his mount to the line.. Subsequently the protest was dismissed and the judgees placings confirmed. Stewards nonetheless advised App N. Nelson to stop riding and straighten in similar circumstances.
Race 4: QUEENS BEACH HOTEL/XXXX LION NATHAN Class B Handicap 1470m
JACKKNNEYE was slow into stride.
GENERAL BEERS raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Race 5: GRANDVIEW HOTEL BOWEN CUP BenchMark 70 Handicap 1810m
GINGERSNAP broke through the barriers prior to the start being effected injuring Jockey P. Cullen. The mare was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4.18pm. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight stewards ordered all monies invested on GINGERSNAP to be refunded, with the following deductions to apply, 10c for all Win bets and 10c for all Place bets. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and had no significant abnormalities. Jockey P. Cullen was advised he will be required to receive medical clearance prior to riding again.
CORONATION JOURNEY was slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
LOKUM raced wide rounding the home turn.
GEORGEOUS RYDER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a strain to the off front fetlock. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised the gelding will require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing again.
