RACE 1: LANDMARK LADIES DAY MAIDEN PLATE 1030M
MISTER SNITZEL- Bumped at the start.
RED WEDDING – Held up entering the home straight until the 100m.
EDDIEADO – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
SCRIVANO – Bumped at the start.
TIANYAR – Tightened for room at the start.
NICQUILITY – Raced wide without cover in the middle stages.
SPECIAL THING – Slow to begin.
THE INTERN – Raced wide throughout.
RACE 2: REID FAMILY TOM (STRAP) REID MEMORIAL BM 50 HCP 1030M
As Jockey C. Bryen was overweight he was replaced by Jockey B. Stower (WE’RE BLESSED). Jockey C.Bryen was reprimanded. Stewards took into consideration personal circumstances.
Start was delayed when LUCKY LARRIKIN dislodged Apprentice S. Barlow in the preliminary, galloped for a short distance and was captured shortly after. The gelding was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon, and cleared to take its place in the field.
VANCOUVER STAR – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly.
CHAMPAGNE WARRIOR – Bumped at the start. Had difficulties obtaining clear running leaving the 150m and was unable to be fully tested.
POP’S SON – Slow to begin. Trainer S. McEwan advised that the gelding would be retired.
MAN OF LAW – Apprentice H. English reported that the gelding never travelled comfortable throughout and was disappointing. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame near hind. Trainer G. Richardson was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required to racing again.
LUCKY LARRIKIN –Raced very wide throughout.
WE’RE BLESSED –Hung out throughout.
BIG BRITCHES – Tightened for room at the start. Raced very wide throughout.
SPECTACULAR ROCK – Shifted in over the final stages whilst being ridden under pressure. Jockey R.Payne was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.
RACE 3:THE CHINCHILLA NEWS BM 50 HCP – 1400M
TAUGHT BY THE BEST - Near the 100m raced in restricted room and had to alter course.
ARCTIC CIRCLE – Tightened for room at the start.
PARANA – Stood flat footed and lost some ground.
MR BON VIVANT – Raced wide in the middle stages without cover.
ROBERT’S COMMAND – Apprentice Wishart reported that the gelding travelled well in the early stages. However leaving 600m when placed under pressure failed to respond and was disappointing. Trainer T. Dougall advised that he would consider the current racing preparation.
RACE 4: GET WELL SOON JB TREASURY WINES CLASS B HCP - 1200M
SEA PRAISE – Raced in restricted room near the 600m.
SIR TITANITE – Race wide without cover throughout.
CHOICE SON – Bumped at the start.
NONCHALANTE – Slow to begin. After taking evidence from Apprentice M. Wishart, stewards were satisfied at she had incorrectly sent saddle cloth No. 5 with the saddle rather than her allotted No. 3. As a result of this Apprentice Wishart pleaded guilty to a charge of negligence and was fined $200.
KING’S MEN – Began awkwardly. Jockey T. Banks accidently dropped his whip near the 300m.
MARQUANT - Post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
RACE 5:LANDMARK LADIES CHALLENGE BRACELET BM 65 HCP 1200M
LEAVESDEN – Slow to begin.
HANOVER SQUARE – Raced wide without cover. Had to be steadied near the 200m.
