Supplementary Report:
Cairns Tuesday 21January 2020
Race 7 JAP MOTOR & CARBY CENTRE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 950M
Stewards today inquired into the reason GOLDEN CHARLES (C. Whiteley) had to be severely checked and lose its rightful running near the 550m. After hearing evidence and viewing the official race film jockey N. Yadi (FLAMIN’ SID) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in when not sufficiently clear of GOLDEN CHARLES, causing that runner to be severely checked and lose its rightful running.
N. Yadi’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 15 February 2020 and to expire midnight 26 February 2020. Stewards deemed this incident to be mid- range and in considering penalty took into account jockey N. Yadi’s guilty plea and recent good record in relation to this rule. N. Yadi, was advised of his right of review against this decision.
Race 1 – ASH MOSELEY HOMES QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 950m

MANOORA PRINCESS – Shifted in on jumping, bumping another runner. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CLEAVER GREENE – Bumped by another runner soon after jumping, becoming unbalanced. Made the 800m crossing awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn. Trainer A. Malliff was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
ZULU REIGN – Made the 800m crossing awkwardly, shifting in,  becoming unbalanced and again shifting in, severely tightening a runner to its inside.

LORMEZ LOVE – Raced greenly in the home straight.
DIAMOZU – Jockey M. Abe pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 1000m he permitted his mount, DIAMOZU, to shift in when insufficiently clear of ACCORDIAN (App. E. Cass), resulting in that gelding being forced in on to the running of HELLO CHARLIE, which was severely checked after making heaving contact with the inside running rail and blundering.  Jockey M. Abe’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days, to commence  midnight, 8 February 2020 and to expire midnight, 20 February 2020. In determining penalty, stewards considered jockey Abe’s record in relation to the rule, his conduct during the inquiry, his guilty plea, however were mindful of the degree of interference, which was in the midrange.
