Race 1: NQPS Security Maiden H’cap – 950m

MURTALLICA – The mare which was resuming following a lengthy absence from racing underwent a Veterinary inspection and was cleared to race.

FURE – Fractious in the barriers and was slowly away.

BENVENUTI – Slowly away.

MISTA LONGHORN – Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LORMEZ LOVE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse had bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that under the provisions of AR79 the mare would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop.

LIPS – Examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the start and was passed fit to race. Inconvenienced by another runner near the 700m.

BEAT IT – Shifted out near the 700m, inconveniencing another runner.

SAPPHIRE WINGs – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Stewards were advised by the Judge post-race that the on course photo-finish had malfunctioned. After conferring with the Judge, Stewards were satisfied with the finishing order of: No. 2 – Buoyancy – 1st No. 3 – Sapphire Wings – 2nd No. 1 – Beat It – 3rd No. 5 – Murtallica and No. 12 Private Client – deadheat for 4th and correct weight was declared on the Judges numbers.

At a subsequent inquiry Jockey B. Thomson was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR131(b) in that she had failed to ride Private Client out to the end of the race which in Stewards opinion had cost the gelding outright 4th placing. Ms. Thomson was fined the sum of $400.00.

Race 2: Hire A Hubby Bayview Class 6 Plate – 950m

FULL RECOGNITION – Slowly away. Restrained off heels when laying in near the 200m.

FORGOTTEN FEELING – Shifted out marginally near the 200m.

CELESTIAL JEWEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

BANK TELLER – As Apprentice E. Cass advised Stewards she was to be overweight, App R. Shred was substituted as the rider of the mare. After hearing submissions from App E. Cass and her master Mr. F Wieland Stewards were satisfied that App. Cass’ engagement to ride the mare occurred due to a misunderstanding and took no further action.

Race 3: Edmonton Plumbing QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1250m

MAHIS MONELLO – Declared a late scratching at 8am on veterinary advice when the horse was found to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied for the horse prior to its next race start.

SHE BEATS THE BEST – Slowly into stride. Near the 400m had to be restrained when tightened for room by another runner which shifted in when tiring.

PANIAGUA – Jockey R. Payne reported that the gelding raced greenly for the majority of the race.

BOUGATSA – Jockey B. Thomson reported that the gelding had raced greenly for the majority of the race. Raced wide throughout.

CREAM TART – Rolled in when commencing to tire near the 400m, hampering another runner. Jockey S. Wilson was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a). A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the filly to be experiencing respiratory discomfort. Trainer Mr T Rowe was advised a Veterinary clearance including a clear airway scope would be required prior to the filly again being permitted to start in a race.

Following the running of this race the track rating was upgraded to Soft 5.

Race 4: Liquid Speciality Beverages Open H’cap – 1250m

LUVYA BEAK – Was declared a late scratching at 12.55 pm after suffering a fracture to its near hind leg due to a float mishap in transit to the race meeting resulting in the mare subsequently having to be euthanased on humane grounds.

CRIMSON HALO – Restrained soon after the start in an effort to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail.

DESERT COWBOY – Over-raced near the 900m and shifted out across heels, forcing another runner wider. Jockey S. Wilson was fined $100 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.

MISTA BUSY – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Forced wider near the 900m by another runner, which shifted out. Shifted out marginally near the 800m crossing, inconveniencing another runner.

CENTRO SUPERIOR – Restrained when racing in restricted room near the 900m.

VIA BALCIANO – Inconvenienced near the 800m crossing by another runner which shifted out marginally. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 5: Star 102.7 & Classic Hits 4CA Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1400m

CASH RAIDER – Shifted in and bumped with another runner on jumping. Had to be restrained when racing ungenerously near the 950m.

BOCHY – Slow into stride.

AHMAH STAR – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Tightened between runners soon after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

GRAZIE MILLE BELLA – Tightened between runners soon after the start.

WHITTERICK – Shifted in near the 1000m turn, tightening runners to its inside. Jockey R. Payne was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) as a result of this incident. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SUPER MARIO – Hampered near the 1000m by another runner which shifted in. Held up passing the 300m when placed in restricted room by another runner which rolled in under pressure.

COUSIN MUSCLES – Inconvenienced near the 1000m by another runner which shifted in.

SOLUMINATE – Rolled in under pressure near the 300m placing another runner in restricted room.

BARWON – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Trainer Mr. R. Miller advised that the gelding which was resuming from a spell had pleased him in its work since coming back into his stable and he had expected a forward showing. Mr. Miller also advised that the stable had supported the gelding in today’s race.

Race 6: FGF Bitumen Class 3 Plate – 1250m

VAN GAAL – Shifted in on jumping, inconveniencing runners to its inside. Made the 1000m turn awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SPEED EIGHT – Slowly away after being inconvenienced on jumping. Race wide for the majority of the race.

HYDRANGEA – Slowly away after being inconvenienced on jumping.

INTENSE FOCUS – Over-raced in the early stages.

JEUX – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 7: Niesar Painting Ratings Band 0-58 H’cap – 950m

AMULETO – Jockey C Jokic replaced Jockey S Wilson who was indisposed. Was fractious in the barriers. Inconvenienced when tightened between runners soon after the start.

STRONG WILL – Jockey N Yadi replaced Jockey M Abe who was indisposed. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

ROTH’N’BELL – Slowly away.

FINE ‘N’ DEVINE – Slowly away.

MISS FLAWLESS – Slowly into stride. Jockey P. Cullen reported his mount hung out from near the 550m to the home turn, and again from approximately the 250m to the conclusion of the race. Was inconvenienced when tightened between runners soon after the start. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Shifted in marginally near the 500m, tightening a runner to its inside. Shifted in under riding near the 150m, having to be straightened.

SER SER SCHON – Shifted out marginally near the 500m, tightening another runner.

ARITOMO – Tightened between runners near the 500m.

RIVER BOY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

THE BEE’S KNEES – Presented with the incorrect saddle cloth having to be re-saddled. Trainer S. Cooper and App E Cass were both fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR227 for negligence which could have led to a breach of AR207. Raced wide throughout.

Race 8: Hurley Partners Ratings Band 0-55 H’cap – 1400m

ELITE LABEL – Was declared a late scratching at 4 pm when no rider was available.

KUMARI – Was declared a late scratching at 4 pm when no rider was available.

MISTA MAYBE – The blinkers, which were part of the horse’s gear, were found to be broken on arrival at the barriers. As a suitable replacement set was not available, the horse raced without blinkers. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

PARTY PIES – Fractious in the barriers. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Disappointed when attempting to obtain clear running near the 300m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MY GIRL POPPY - Fractious in the barriers. Laid in for the majority of the home straight.

DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – Slowly into stride.

EMSHALKY – Slowly into stride. Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Trainer Mr. M Jokic advised that the mare is inclined to mix its form and believed the continued drop in class and today’s reduced distance had proven beneficial.

OUR DANNY BOY – Prior to the race connections advised Stewards the instructions were, should circumstances permit, to lead and to ride the horse at a genuine pace. Bumped with another runner soon after the start. Became awkward for a stride near the 600m. Raced prominently to the 500m .Tired noticeably over the concluding stages.

FOX STREET – After beginning awkwardly, bumped with another runner soon after.

SCHILL ROCK YOU – Slowly into stride.
