After viewing the stewards’ patrol footage, D. Simmons, the rider of ZORRO FEMININO, placed 2nd by the Judge, lodged an objection against REGAL REECE (S. Wiseman) being declared the winner, alleging interference near the 50m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the videos it was established that approaching the 50m REGAL REECE did shift out, resulting in ZORRO FEMININO being contacted. However, due to the proximity of the interference in relation to the winning post, stewards were not comfortably satisfied that that if the interference had not taken place ZORRO FEMININO would have improved its position, and therefore dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
