RACE 1: Heather Dan & Ben QTIS 2YO Class 3 Plate – 900m
1st: Supersonic Boom 2nd: Aetherius 3rd: Greyt Love 4th: Sugar Sizzle
 
AETHERIUS – Slow to begin.
 
ESKDALE GIRL – Began awkwardly. When asked to explain his tactics over the final 200m, Jockey A Spinks was of the opinion that ESKDALE GIRL was not appreciating racing inside horses and therefore he allowed the filly to shift out into clear running to give it a chance to finish the race off better.
 
SUGAR SIZZLE – Over-raced early and was then obliged to race 3 wide without cover thereafter.
 
RACE 2: AJ, Bridge & Spida Maiden Plate – 1800m
1st: She’s Reliable 2nd: Go Dixie 3rd: Reckless Choice 4th: Cambridge Don
 
TRUST ISSUES - Began awkwardly. Caught wide during the early stages. Over-raced when being restrained to obtain a trailing position passing the 1200m.
 
MISSY MUSKETEER - Bumped on jumping away. Raced 3 wide without cover during the early and middle stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader at the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
RECKLESS CHOICE – Over-raced during the early stages when being restrained. After beginning fairly from an awkward gate was unable to muster speed to race in a forward position and therefore Jockey R Plumb elected to restrain his mount to obtain a position towards the rear closer to the rail. Jockey Plumb explained that it was not his intention to race in a rearward position but after being caught wide early he felt this was the best option to give his horse a chance to finish the race off. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
SHES RELIABLE – Over-raced during the early stages and got its head up on a number of occasions.
 
GO DIXIE - Raced wide during the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200m.
 
CAMBRIDGE DON - Raced 3 wide without cover during the early stages until passing the 1000m where he obtained cover.
 
SIR ROTHEWAY – Raced wide rounding the home turn. It was reported that the gelding cast its near hind plate in running.
 
RACE 3: Alphabucks Maiden Handicap – 1400m
1st: The Wardsmen 2nd: Queachy 3rd: Red Flyer 4th: Maquereau
 
ERROL - Slow into stride.
 
HEZ EKCEPTIONAL - Began awkwardly.
 
HAKWA - After beginning only fairly, the filly was restrained towards the rear on the rail to obtain cover and then when the pace steadied passing the 1100m, commenced to over-race and got its head up on a number of occasions when being restrained from heels. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
RED FLYER - Slightly held up from a point passing the 200m until the 100m.
 
THE WARDSMEN - When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Trainer L Wheeler explained that the gelding was 3rd run in from a spell today and presented as a much fitter horse for todays event and with the step up in journey and being able to obtain a soft lead, felt that this aided the chances of the gelding winning. He further added that he was of the opinion that the gelding would be competitive in todays event.
 
RACE 4: NBN News BenchMark 75 Handicap – 900m
1st: Bonsho 2nd: Dylans Luck 3rd: Lifes Like That 4th: Mistoffelees
 
As Jockey Matthew Palmer was to be overweight, he was replaced on ROTHBURY by Jockey L Rolls. Jockey Palmer was fined the sum of $XXX.
 
BONSHO – Fractious in the gates and reared on a number of occasions. Knuckled on jumping and shifted out. Passing the 700m had a tendency to lay out for a short distance.
 
MISTOFFELEES - Bumped on jumping away. Hampered when racing in restricted room shortly after the start. Jockey L Tarrant reported that his mount had a tendency to lay out under riding in the straight.
 
ROTHBURY - Hampered when racing in restricted room shortly after the start. Passing the 700m clipped heels and blundered almost dislodging its rider. From that point on was uncompetitive and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before the geldings next race start.
 
MR HENNESSY – Had a tendency to lay in approaching the 700m.
 
NAVY GAL - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Had a tendency to lay in and away from MR HENNESSY passing the 700m. Slightly inconvenienced rounding the home turn when runners to his inside shifted out.
 
DYLANS LUCK - Upon entering the home straight, slightly held up and had to be steadied away from heels and shift wider on the track to improve. Had a tendency to lay in over the final 100m and approaching the winning post bumped LIFES LIKE THAT.
 
CLANGS VICTORY – Had a tendency to lay in approaching the 100m and was unable to obtain clear running and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
LIFES LIKE THAT – Slightly bumped approaching the winning post by DYLANS LUCK.
 
RACE 5: Coral Sea Cup Class 1 – 1200m
1st: Pretexts Dream 2nd: The Socialist 3rd: Stryke of Delight 4th: Streets Better
 
Stewards considered an objection lodged by App. B Thornton the rider of THE SOCIALIST which finished 2nd against PRETEXTS DREAM (N Day) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference from the 300m to the 150m. The Stewards acknowledged that while PRETEXTS DREAM did shift out marginally passing the 200m, Stewards were of the view that THE SOCIALIST had not established a run to its outside and therefore dismissed the objection.
 
LIMESTONE COWBOY - Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
FRENCH DESCENT - Bumped on jumping away.
 
HACKSAW RIDGE - Hampered shortly after jumping away.
 
THE TINMAN - Hampered shortly after jumping away. Forced wider on the track over the final 100m when STREETS BETTER shifted out and away from PRETEXTS DREAM.
 
PRETEXTS DREAM - Hung out during the early stages despite the efforts of it rider and raced 3 wide until a point passing the 600m where it obtained a position outside the lead. Had a tendency to lay out under pressure in the home straight. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding regarding its racing manners.
 
KEEP ON LOVING YOU - Passing the 700m had to be steadied to avoid heels when STRYKE OF DELIGHT was shifted in after being taken in by LORD OF THE DREAMZ. Tendency to lay out rounding the home turn. Jockey L Cheshire (LORD OF THE DREAMZ) was advised to exercise more care.
 
AMARYLISS - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
STREETS BETTER - Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
FIELDS OF GLORY - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
ELITE FORCE - Over-raced during the middle stages.
 
THE SOCIALIST - Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight had some difficulty obtaining clear running until approaching the 100m.
 
ART SHE QUICK – Forced wider on the track over the final 100m when STREETS BETTER shifted out and away from PRETEXTS DREAM.
 
RACE 6: 92.5 Gold FM Class 5 Handicap – 1200m
1st: Slydini 2nd: Palace Tycoon 3rd: Dazzle Us Again 4th: My Cousin Bossy
 
After scratching deadline Jockey D McLellan was initially engaged to ride ANOTHER VALLEY but after speaking with the trainer he was unable to fulfil that commitment and stewards approved Jockey A Spinks to replace him.
 
HOTEL DRIVE - Began awkwardly and bumped ALL TROOPS. Had a tendency to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALL TROOPS - Bumped on jumping away. Over-raced during the middle stages and at a point passing the 600m had to be steadied away from heels.
 
THE AMATEUR - Raced 3 wide during the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 700m. Slightly inconvenienced passing the 100m.
 
LANDMARKS - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 150m. When questioned, Jockey J Worley explained that from the wide barrier she was unable to obtain a position with cover and was forced to race wide without cover. Jockey Worley further added that after having such a hard run she was satisfied with the finishing effort of the gelding. A post-race swab sample was taken.
 
PALACE TYCOON - Blundered of its own accord passing the 700m. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
JOHNNY BE QUICK - Taken out passing the 200m by HOTEL DRIVE.
 
PATRONIZING - Forced wider on the track approaching the 150m.
 
RACE 7: 90.9 SEA FM F&M BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1400m
1st: Lady No More 2nd: Think Like a Bird 3rd: Zilitor 4th: Lavington Star
 
FAIRLIGHTING - Slow to begin.
 
RED MAKO - Began awkwardly and shifted in. Approaching the 1200m steadied away from heels and was taken in when MASTER DAME shifted in when not fully clear and then commenced to over-race and had a tendency to lay in. Jockey L Rolls (MASTER DAME) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Bumped approaching the 600m when FINE EYES which commenced to over-race shifted out to avoid heels.
 
LADY NO MORE - Hampered between runners on jumping away.
 
LAVINGTON STAR - Slow into stride. Slightly held up for clear running rounding the home turn and during the early part of the home straight.
 
RAMATUELLE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
ZILITOR - During the middle stages when the pace slackened had a tendency to over-race and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions. Jockey B Grylls explained that it was not her intention to settle that far back in the field but after obtaining a trailing position was shuffled back due to the tempo slowing and horses improving around her.
 
THINK LIKE A BIRD - Jockey R Plumb accidentally dropped his whip upon entering the home straight.
 
RACE 8: The Brandworks Cup C,G & E BenchMark 95 Handicap – 1400m
1st: Royal Atom 2nd: Captivator 3rd: Driving Wheels 4th: Anzio
 
DRIVING WHEELS - Hampered on jumping away. Passing the 1000m had a tendency to lay in despite the effort of its rider.
 
TYCOON FLUTTER - Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
PARK CHINOIS - Blundered shortly after jumping away. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
SYAMANTAKA MANI - Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
CAPTAIN DODGE - Hampered between runners on jumping away. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
SCOUTABOUT - Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
BROOKAJOE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DEVILS FIRE - Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
GREAT MOGHUL - Held up from the 500m until a point approaching the 350m.
 
CAPTAIN DODGE suffered a bleeding attack during the event. The gelding will incur a mandatory 3 months ban from racing under the provisions of AR53A.
