A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying a cough and poor post race recovery. Mr Wilson indicated that he would have an endoscopic examination performed, the results of which he would forward to stewards.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards viewed the patrol footage to ascertain if the connections of RIVER FLYER (D. Smith) which finished second had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner DONT STUTTER (App C. Gallagher) regarding interference near the 50m. Given the way DONT STUTTER finished over the final 100m and the one length margin stewards were satisfied that the interference suffered by RIVER FLYER after being bumped by DONT STUTTER near the 50m did not have a material affect on the placings and subsequently declared correct weight.
